“We were pleasantly surprised with this place - good food, great drinks, wonderful service - what’s not to like! The food came out fast (in a very full restaurant on a Friday night, mind you!) and it was good. Unlike some other Mexican restaurants we’ve been to, the house margarita in this place is a very good one, not watered down and had a good bit of tequila in it - so if you want to relax with family or friends after work one night, this is the place to be, we certainly enjoyed it!“
“The food was soo good i came back again and i tryed something new and it was great im coming back again soon .the service was very good this nice to young women served me my food and she was very nice to me and gave me some suggestions for foods to eat.“
“I decided to pop in on a Sunday out of convenience as Trader Joe's is next door. I originally thought I could just get my go-to item the classic burrito. As I was in line the man in front of me ordered a Quesadilla, and it looked great! So I went out of my comfort zone and ordered the Quesadilla! You can build your own which is fantastic! I got cheese, rice, black beans, salsa, TOFU, and guacamole (for an up-charge). I took my order to-go and honestly it was delicious! For $10 bucks I have found my quick go-to place for a loaded quesadilla!“
“Great Breakfast Taco!Visited this place on a Saturday around 11:30 AM. There was a line and we waited about 25 minutes before ordering. Once we ordered, we got the Tacos relatively fast ~5 minutes.I like that the menu is not too broad. These are breakfast tacos, all of them with a soft flour tortilla. They serve 8 different Tacos. I did not know if the tacos were big and I was hungry so I went big and ordered 6. In the end I was able to eat just 4 of them.I think the salsa is something they can improve. I am not fan of the creamy salsas so the cilantro was meh. The charred tomato was just OK.If I come back I would do just 3 and it has to be: 956, Tio Willie and 513.Vegetarian options: There is a Bean Taco: El Frijolito. Not that good.“
“The food was amazing! Very delicious, huge portions, interesting take on texmex. Great job ??Service was friendly, but unprofessional. First they made us wait for a booked! table for a half an hour, they they forgot to bring sides… hope it was only our experience, and they usually do better ??♂️“
“Going on a Friday night was a mistake. We joined the wait list via their website but were informed when we arrived that they don't use that system anymore. The wait was long and there's no waiting area so everyone was standing in the way of staff walking by and people trying to get through the door. The food is exactly the same as their former restaurant (which is to say good quality but not true Tex-Mex) and drinks incredibly overpriced.“
“Came during happy hour, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices and options they had. Loved the frozen lime margarita (a must), with the chicken quesadillas and the guacamole and salsa to share with the table. Loved the pupusas, and the best thing about this restaurant is that the food is always fresh and hot! We loved the tres leches and the churros and ice cream.“
“Service was excellent. The food isn’t bad either. I need to give them a try because I got something out of the ordinary. If you end up getting fries like I did, they’re terrific. A chimichanga is next on my list. It’s definitely worth the stop.“
“Best Tex Mex restaurant in the Alexandria - Belle Haven area. This is my go to spot when I'm craving Tex Mex. Food: If you dine in, make sure to get the steak fajitas - you won't be disappointed. The fajitas come out sizzling out, and the steak is actually of great quality and comes topped with melted butter for an added taste. Recently, I've been binging their Birria Tacos which are very tasty, and comes with great sauces. Service: the service is absolutely fantastic. I was able to chat with the owner and he is a very down to earth and authentic himself, great to support our local small businesses! Ambience: It is very clean and they do a great job of spacing our guests when it's not peak hours. They play great music, and the main area can even get lively as the night progresses. If you search Mexican food in Alexandria, a few will come up that's highly rated - but trust me, 2 Jefes is at the top.“
“It's new, it's good, it's worth visiting. [fin] Ok, jk jk, I'll write more. Let's cover food, service, and ambiance in that order. Food: Solid to very good. Of the el arriero ny steak, lomo saltado, and molcajete ... the steak and molcajete win. Sadly the lomo saltado, while quite decent, doesn't hold a candle to Super Chicken in Tysons. Ok but here's the important bit: THE CHIPS. The chips are great. Not only are they thin and crispy, they're well salted AND served with both WARM and COLD salsas. I never thought anyone would do as well as Uncle Julios for chips, but ... well, Guapos does. Service: Ironically we've been twice and we had the same server both times. And she was excellent. Super friendly, quick with requests, and checked in frequently. Not only that, they clearly operate as a team and several folks came by during the meal to ensure drinks were filled, napkins were in order ... and shockingly, as we were wrapping up, someone wiped the crumbs off the table. I mean that's a white-tablecloth steakhouse thing... right? Apparently it's a Guapos thing too. Ambiance: Fun to hip. The first time we were there was opening week and the live band was both entertaining and, uh, loud. Look, we're fogies, we complain about this err ... stuff. The second time we went it was much quieter and we were able to enjoy our meals AND our conversation. The decor is pretty great, the table arrangement spacious, and the place was packed, nevertheless. I'll close out with parking. It's a big lot, and it gets crowded ... but we found spots nevertheless on a busy night. Looking for Mexican? Yeah, I'd go here again. No arm-twisting required.“
