If you enjoy spicy food, get the Sichuan broth, but beware that even the Medium Sichuan broth is SPICY AF, so if you don’t have the stomach for it, get either the mild one or another broth. The angus beef was perfect, and the udon noodles had great texture too. HIGHLY recommend the Cilantro Ponzu sauce - it adds a fantastic depth of flavor.”

“The best cookies I’ve had in a while. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but these are so so good! I love the new variety of flavors every week and how they’re so unique and different than the generic cookies you buy in the grocery store. The price isn’t too bad either! For a box of 6 cookies it’s $22 but the cookies are HUGE. I can never finish one by myself so I leave them to the rest of my family. “What a freaking gem. This spot gives off serious LA or NYC vibes right in the heart of downtown SJ. The decor alone deserves a shoutout: stunning tall ceilings, gorgeous wood and metal accents, natural tones, and even a couple of olive tree centerpieces that ties it all together in a sleek, contemporary way. If you need a date night spot, try to lock in a reservation here.

The elevator bar is probably one of the most unique features I've ever seen, shuttling bottles of liquor from the downstairs bar to the loft bar. The loft area wasn't open yet, but I could already picture it being the perfect place to pre-game and soak in the energy from the restaurant below.

The food is dialed in. New American with a Mediterranean twist. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch, letting you watch your dishes as they're being prepared. Highly recommend ordering family style to share. The octopus is an absolute must--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The lobster pasta was decadent - pricey, but you get huge chunks of lobster that makes it worthwhile. We also ordered the monster ribeye topped with some insane butter, cooked medium rare. If you have a group of 4 or more, do it.

The drinks were fantastic, though more subdued in flavor compared to their other concepts like Paper Plane or Mini Boss. I'd recommend dinner at Eos & Nyx, then cap off the night with a cocktail at one of their other bars.

This is a game-changer for downtown SJ. It really reminded me of Bavel in downtown LA, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Excited to see this place finally open!”

We just moved to San Jose in November, no time to decorate for the holidays...honestly it didn't really feel like the holidays to us until we walked into MINIBOSS! We randomly found this place before a show at the Improv, and walking in for the first time ever, seeing everyone in Christmas sweaters and decorations ceiling to floor, holiday inspired amazing cocktails, cool holiday mugs and glasses. It really felt like the holiday spirit was in there and my husband and I desperately needed that!

We've been back a few times since, it's such a great place for hanging out and having drinks. I cant wait to check out the decorations during other holidays. And let's not forget the arcades. When friends come to visit us for the first time, this is the first bar we'll take them to!”

“TBH I was hesitant at first to eat at Acopia. As a vegan, most Mexican restaurants do not usually have options for me. Their menu is somewhat minimal and limited, so entered with few expectations or hopes that I could order anything more than a salad. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The owner came to our table and was most accommodating. I ordered a succulent nopales salad, street corn and some delicious blue corn sopes de calabasita (zucchini and flower). It was all quite tasty and I was even more surprised when she brought out some vegan mayo AND vegan cheese to top off my food with more flavor. The atmosphere is very modern and simply styled, mirroring their “chic” food menu. I found the food delicious though a bit on the bland side, but was grateful that they came through for me and my vegan diet. I left sated and happy that I could fully participate in the meal alongside my meat-eating friends. The owner was very thoughtful and really went out of her way to make sure I had plenty of choices to order. Although it was a bit pricey, I will definitely go back again. The modern ambiance, the attentive service and the fancy yet rustic food combined to make a lovely evening meal.”

“I've been coming to this location for breakfast for the last 2 months since my physical therapy at Golden Hills is nearby. Reyna has been taking my order each time I visit. I'm always appreciative of the clean and neat appearance of tables, seating and floors. Reyna is meticulous in keeping the outside area as clean as the interior: picking up trash around perimeter of restaurant and making sure outside eating area is pristine. Only trash I've seen inside is the debris/ clutter made by customers as they enjoy their food. My food is always delivered promptly and it is hot. The only downside is that I feel it is very cold inside this restaurant. My inside temp app says it is 69 degrees so maybe you will find it okay but it is cooolld for me. This temp would be fantastic in summer. There's not much traffic in morning but picks up during lunch so if you want quick, hot breakfast with no crowds, this is the place. Just make sure you wear a warm sweater or jacket if you're like me:)”

“Just walked in randomly from one of my walks. This space is really tiny, but cozy. When I walked, then it was really empty, and I was only customer. I wasn’t feeling like coffee, so I got the drink with mango and Boba and coconut milk. It was thick and tasty and very rich. I also got the banana bread to go with it and it was an okay banana bread. Nothing special. I wouldn’t probably come here to have a cafe experience, but rather to just get coffee on the go.”

We got Pagoda and Putter Up. The Pagoda has the green basil drops that almost look like mold!..haha very tasty. The Putter Up was with scotch. Too strong for me.

We ordered the Combination, Hawaiian, and Indian Butter Chicken pizzas—plus a half Spicy Hawaiian because I love jalapeños and pineapple together! 🤣🤑 The chicken wings were absolutely perfect—crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. “We tried to visit Goodtime Bar once before, but seating is very very limited, so decided to try again another time when we could get a seat (it's a small space, both inside and outside, and even the standing room is limited - but standing room isn't what I'm looking for in a wine bar).
Last night we made it at a time when we were able to grab the only 2 seats available. The ambiance is great - the setup is very modern, and the music is enjoyable. I was rather disappointed by their Wines by the Glass selection - rather, their lack thereof. Their menu has a single listing for "wines by the glass" with each color listed beneath (bubbles, white, orange, red) and a note to ask what they're pouring tonight. I like this in concept - it suggests a rotating menu. however, the options were limited - for a red, they only had a red blend (no other options for a single glass). I will caveat that with this: the red blend was delightful and I would absolutely get it again (if I knew what it is)! but when I go out to a wine bar, I'm interested in either a flight of different wines, or 2 glasses of 2 different wines (of the same color). so while our intention was to stay for 2 glasses each, we just had the single glass and left.
they do seem to have plenty of Wines by the Bottle options - again, a single listing on the menu pointing you to all the bottles on the wall with their prices written on them in sharpie. so if you're with a bigger group, or planning to stay for the whole evening, I can see Goodtime being a good time for you!

“We had the Petiscos menu in the Adega space, consisting of small, shareable dishes from their sister restaurant. The dishes were all well-cooked, with a good variety of flavors and very tender meats. We particularly enjoyed soft beef tongue in a rich sauce, as well as sautéed vegetables (including sweet potato, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, and red onion, with a hint of sweetness).

They have a good selection of drinks here. Unfortunately, they were out of some of their dessert options, including the Portuguese egg tarts, which the server mentioned happens frequently.”

The latte itself didn't have a strong taste of corn, so the gummy helped enhance that flavor. However, the latte was very well made. I ordered it with oat milk and it was rich, not too acidic, not sour, not sugary, well-balanced, nutty, with no bitterness or unpleasant aftertaste. There is a very drinkable quality about their lattes and reminds me of a butter cookie secretly made with a bit of coconut oil (the lattes here have a secret ingredient for sure). Owner was so friendly and the place adequate for being an older establishmen.”

They had their doors open for a large delivery ,temp out side was 39-40 degrees and delivery took over thirty min., doors still open and no food. “TBH I was hesitant at first to eat at Acopia. As a vegan, most Mexican restaurants do not usually have options for me. Their menu is somewhat minimal and limited, so entered with few expectations or hopes that I could order anything more than a salad. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The owner came to our table and was most accommodating. I ordered a succulent nopales salad, street corn and some delicious blue corn sopes de calabasita (zucchini and flower). It was all quite tasty and I was even more surprised when she brought out some vegan mayo AND vegan cheese to top off my food with more flavor. The atmosphere is very modern and simply styled, mirroring their “chic” food menu. I found the food delicious though a bit on the bland side, but was grateful that they came through for me and my vegan diet. I left sated and happy that I could fully participate in the meal alongside my meat-eating friends. The owner was very thoughtful and really went out of her way to make sure I had plenty of choices to order. Although it was a bit pricey, I will definitely go back again. The modern ambiance, the attentive service and the fancy yet rustic food combined to make a lovely evening meal.”
