“So it is Monday July 14 and we just left Joe’s BBQ and my wife told me that my BBQ is better the Joe’s any-day. Sunday night we went to Q39 and wow what a difference. My wife and I both had the 3 meat and sides of beans,and vegetables. Every single thing we had was great. Chicken(white meat) had good flavor but chicken is chicken. Sausage was full of flavor with the peppers. Ribs were fall off the bone and didn’t need sauce. The pulled pork was really soft and melted in the mouth good. So at this point I have to say if you are in Kansas City for BBQ go to Q39 last because nothing compares the it at least in Kansas City anyway.”

The "manager" was supposed to call me for a refund and that never happened. I will never be back or ever recommend. Horrible customer service - thanks for the hour wait for the meal delivery as well as food that was not edible. Also the no call back "to make it right"”

“In town for the week and looking for something with heart, this place popped up as a local favorite and now I understand why. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine kindness and warm energy that you could feel in the room.

It was a little busy, which is always a good sign, but we scored a sidewalk table and that is totally my vibe. The Baba falafel on pita was absolutely soul satisfying. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and made with love.

Inside, the decor is beyond charming. Whoever designed the space clearly knows how to mix color and texture with personality. Honestly, I want them to come decorate my house next.

Most local American burgers tend to be a bit too heavy for me, but Winsted keeps it simple and really nails the basics. And the onion rings? Hands down the best I’ve ever had. Besides Gates, this has become my new go-to spot around here.”

“I remember hearing about this place years ago but never went. It popped up on my FYP on TikTok so I decided to give it a try. My family and I drove down on a Saturday around 12:30. Not sure where it was exactly, we ended up driving by it and having to turn around. There is only street parking available so we parked 1/2 a block up and walked down. We weren’t the only ones who did. The steady flow of people coming in and out was a lot. Good for business. They only accept cash, which is good to know beforehand. We ordered the famous pork tenderloin, a cheeseburger and fries. Everything is alacarte. Which is also good to know beforehand.
The tenderloin had good flavor but was fried very hard. My husband enjoyed his but said it was too spicy, he had the hot sauce. Overall, it was good. Glad we finally tried it.”

This appetizer has always been a strength of theirs through the decades. I had a huge treat last night in the Managing Partner, Kim Halloran, visiting with me at my table. These are not everyday opportunities and I made the most of her visit. She is a true leader and Kansas City is very fortunate to have her leading the city's Kansas City location. It is always a privilege to have a conversation with her.”

My mom doesn't do spicy, so she got the philly chicken roll—which she thoroughly enjoyed. My son gave his monster burger and fries 5 stars.

The seating is covered outdoors with one fan. It works for families but is super casual.
