“Ok so this was my first time here, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Very cozy and welcoming. There is also an outside patio for dining, which is also super sexy. I opted to sit at the bar and order my meal. It was a nice cozy spot in the corner by the front door. A waiter suggested it when I walked in. I don't remember his name, but he is awesome because it was absolutely perfect. I was waited on by a super sexy bartender named Abby. Very welcoming and sharp. She was on the job.Moving on, I ordered the 14oz New York strip, seafood pasta, and the calamari. The calamari was the best I've EVER HAD. You have to try it. There are no small stingy pieces. All thick juicy cuts and battered to perfection. My steak was just "OK." I expected more from this place, but it just wasn't there. I grill a pretty damn good steak myself, so I'm hard on restaurants when it comes to steak. The pasta was also just "ok." The pasta noodles were overcooked, so it had that gooey sticky feel, and the sauce it was cooked in obviously wasn't made with high quality, rich ingredients. In closing, this is a classy, laid-back place. Perfect to bring a date. The service is sufficient and friendly. The food that I ordered in particular left me wanting and expecting more. Quality ingredients are a must when ppl can spend $130+ $30 tip for a meal, and that's just 1 person! The portion with the steak could've been better for that kind of money, for sure. Many restaurants post pandemic have taken shortcuts on quality ingredients and good portion sizes. Ppl don't mind paying for good food, and you actually feed them. It's so bad that it has kept me from going to higher class restaurants altogether because there is simply no value anymore.Parking: They have a couple of small parking lots. However, if you co.e when they're busy, you may have to part on the street.“
“As a foodie and a snob for the finer foods I’ve traveled a lot in the name of culinary excellence. Without exaggeration, this is in the top three restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. The simple menu has just been perfected. Crab cakes, a dozen raw oysters, roasted chicken (the absolute best), and crème brûlée. This establishment has set the bar for fine dining in St Louis.“
“This has been the most exceptional dining experience in a very long time. Me & my friend came in for a quick bite. We were greeted immediately & told to hang on a sec & it was literally a second. Mike the waiter was very attentive & took care to our almost every need. Chef’s kiss to Yellowbellly!“
“Amazing food, beautiful presentation in a lovely location! If you haven't tried it, it's a must!!! We will be returning and recommending. Our party of 4 had 2 starters, a ceviche and 4 entrees- everything we ordered was beautiful and delicious! The servings are very generous and we all had leftovers to take home to enjoy.“
“Absolutely tasty. Wonderful to have this diverse pallet of flavors in St Louis. Come with good company so that you don't notice the wait. Because the food is worth it. I recommend saving room for the chocolate cake and the Passion Fruit moose. Yum.“
“We were excited to try the Tavern tonight for the first time. We were a bit underwhelmed. I only got 3 scallops for a $45 entree (even Disney will give you 4 for the same price). Additionally, the fries and baked cookie had a burnt aftertaste from the oven. For $150, we thought it was significantly overpriced for what we got.“
“0 a+ rating I would just say that everything was on time and it was hot prepared immaculately and on top of that you could get no better in service or privacy so if you want to instrument dinner with somebody that you care about deeply this would be the place to have it so a+ double a plus in my book“
“Catering for hungry athletes!!! This was hands down the best meal, service and value I’ve ever experienced. We needed to feed a team of teenagers after playing and Len from Zia’s was amazing. Everything went exactly as planned. Communication was prompt and regular. Len set everything up for us and helped us dress the salad and make sure we had everything we needed. The food was an absolute hit with the parents and the players. We demolished the salad and bread and the baked mostaciolli and put a huge dent in the pasta alla vodka sauce. Everyone got second helpings and were thrilled with their meal in the hotel basement of the Hampton Inn downtown. This meal put all others to shame and my only regret is that Len and Zia’s aren’t available in the other cities we’re headed to. The next time we are in St Louis we will make Zia’s our meal of choice!! Thank you!!!Vegetarian options: We went meat free since it was a Friday in Lent. No one missed the meat!! So good!“
“First time visiting El Potro, had the enchiladas with mole and 3 tacos dinner Al pastor and carne asada. Everything from the service to the food was great. The owner and staff are super nice!! Will definitely go back , next time will try the molcajete.“
“I really enjoyed this place a lot. From the moment I entered the staff members were incredibly friendly and suggested so many different foods. I was served with smiles and fun conversations. This place gave "family" vibes. Everyone was so kind, they felt familiar. I'm a stickler about things being hot and fresh. Everything I ordered was hot, fresh, and tasty. I definitely will be back to try more of their food. This is a place I recommend because they have good food and good service.“
“This is a VERY nice restaurant in Clayton. I didn't realize it was fine dining and showed up in a hoodie and jeans. At first, I was concerned that I would be turned away or treated differently because of my attire, but that wasn't the case. We ( my son and I) were led to a booth and ordered drinks. My son ordered a burger, which looked delicious. He confirmed that it was. I ordered the lobster bisque, and it was to die for!! Velvety smooth and full of chunks of lobster! Honestly, the BEST lobster bisque I've ever had! For dessert, we had cheesecake, and again, it was divine! The atmosphere is beautiful!! You are immediately filled with a sense of calm. Its the kind of place you would take someone for a very special occasion...like a marriage proposal. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. We were well taken care of and will definitely be back!Kid-friendliness: It is NOT a place for small children.“
“Amazing food, service and staff across the board. Our waiter Maz is in the team picture of best 5 waiters I’ve ever had. Attentive beyond necessity! What waiter pours 3 guys bottled beers into a frosty glass? Maz does! Total understanding of menu, ingredients and recommendations! Highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Maz! Definitely will be back next time i’m in St. Louis!“
“I love the food. However, I just realized they charge 15% gratuity on carry out orders. I just paid $15 to have my food put in a plastic bag. And I always tip for carry out, not knowing until today that I'm tipping on top of the 15% they've already added.“
“Another fantastic evening overall at TMH! We snagged the last Fish and Chips special thank goodness bc it's a new favorite you've got to try. The Salmon risotto special was delicious, as was the beet and butternut squash salad topped with salmon. Of course the Denver Wagyu was perfectly prepared. The bourbon smash is a must try. Addison, our server, is always delightful; the service at TMH keeps us coming back just as much as the food! Best place to eat and drink on Main Street!!“
“This is in contention with the fanciest place that I've ever had dinner. I had the steak and mashed potatoes, both of which were the best that I've ever had. I added a succulent bone marrow butter that I still think about from time to time. The service is top notch as you would expect. If you are driving you have to valet park. Be prepared for that. Also, plan to spend money. It was the most expensive ticket that I've ever had.“
“Delicious food with large portions! It was hot, fresh and seemed legit homemade and authentic. Fun atmosphere with live music! Service was efficient and attentive. Will return! You can tell the owner takes pride in operating a great restaurant.“
“Just a heads up they do have a sign that says they can search you before entering. We came in a Saturday night and it was busy! They had two customers celebrating their birthday so the bar decorated the entire place! There is a DJ in a booth. There is a stage to dance. Outside there is two covered seating areas, fire pits and tons of room for at least fifty people. The bartenders were very nice. They made us lemon drops which were delicious. The atmosphere is very neat, laid back and fun. They promote for 35 and up for the "grown and sexy." It is a club feel.“
“I love Mexican food, and I've been here previously with a coworker bit wanted my wife to experience the place. This is more than a restaurant, it's a destination! The food and service were excellent my last time here. Although on this visit, the service was very slow, and my wife's Quesadilla was way overcooked.Every place can have an off night, I'll say this was their off night. We will be back. The carne asada was outstanding!!!“
“Really nice place inside. Don't know what the bar looked like because we didn't go in. I have heard people say that it's pricey and of course it is because this isn't your average Mexican restaurant. The menu is small plate oriented and the menu ismore like a tasting menu. The food is higher end than all the other places and outstanding. I can't comment on their drink menu because I seldom drink when going out. I will say that the pricing seem to be a bit higher than most places which will account for a higher per person ticket if one has two or three drinks. Still, our total was $70 ore tip for 2 people including 2 beers. The wait time between "courses" is a bit long but not enough for me to really complain about. The staff were friendly dmv knowledgeable about the menu. It may not me a place we'll go to monthly but we will definitely be back!“
“Cobalt Smoke & Sea is the perfect marriage between surf & turf. They have something for everybody! This is a spot where you can bring a seasoned foodie or a curious food newbie. The ambiance is enchanting illuminated with lit up Ginkgo trees stationed around the restaurant.See below. This is unique.Step 1: Pick a protein. I chose scallops. You could also choose Sea Bass, Salmon, Tiger Shrimp, Rainbow Trout, Beef Tenderloin, Pork Chop, Cornish Hen, Ribeye, & Wagyu.Step 2: Pick your style. I chose Mediterranean which included saffron risotto, olive tapenade, Italian herbs, & basil cream sauce. You could also choose these styles.Traditional - whipped potatoes, haricot verts, crispy onion, and béarnaise sauceHarvest - sweet potato hash, bacon & kale, charred lemon & maple bacon butterCaribbean - dirty rice and andouille sausage, fried okra, & blackening spices remouladeIt creates so much versatility for your dining experience!“
“This might be one of my new favorite lunch spots. The food is absolutely amazing. This was my first Poke bowl experience. I was nervous about it at first but the food was amazing and the service was even better. Highly recommend especially for a lunch that won’t leave your stomach feeling heavy after.“
“Crab was a little overcooked which made it kind of hard to crack, but it tasted delicious. Service was wonderful, place was clean and very inviting. Will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: Our kids are loud and rowdy and the server handled it all with so much grace and kindness.“
“Hello. I am a "regular" now at Oceano Bistro (and I have been for a while). It's about time I wrote a review. The food here is excellent. The service is wonderful. The atmosphere is open and welcoming. I have my place at the bar that provides me with a great spot to view all the action. I would like to thank and recognize the following individuals: Alex, Robert, Scotty, Ben, Jake, Mary, Matt (bar/server), Matt (kitchen), Armando (kitchen), Ann, Pierre, Marena, Amy, Sasha and ... last but not least ... Amer. I know I am missing a few names here ... sorry. I look forward to my next visit. See you soon everyone. CHEERS.“
“My son’s took me to this place for my birthday brunch. He reserved a table so I highly recommend you check availability to avoid long wait time. Our waitress Mone’ was Awesome ?? she had our table set and ready upon our arrival. It’s a small location but it’s nice there’s video music ?playing on the big screen ? at a low volume and conversational paintings ?️ on the walls while you wait for your order. I ordered the lamb chops with the glaze sauce on the side it was delicious, my son’s and my mom had the shrimp Alfredo, fried potatoes, stacked pancakes, fried chicken, French toast all was good. It was funny that we all eating saying okay this taste good and my son was like mama let me taste your lamb chops I handed him a bone with a little meat? Try this place out you will not be disappointed“
“Come often and never disappointed. Yesterday had Margarita', chicken wings & cheese dish. Everything was Amazing. The owner always speaks and the staff makes sure everything is to your liking. 1st class & best Mexican is St. Louis.“
“This is my wife and I 1st time due to reading the reviews. I ordered the chimichunga and my wife ordered the tilapia. We really enjoyed the food and the chef even came out to ask how was our food. It was great. Also try the cantaloupe water.“
“Absolutely one of the best restaurants in St. Louis. They are known for the golden fried chicken. The breading is very good. Very juicy perfectly cooked chicken. They have the BEST fried mushrooms I’ve had. The wings are AMAZING. It gets better. The SAUCES are delicious ?. All are homemade from scratch. The owner Charlene is so sweet and kind. The customer service here is excellent. This is a MUST STOP place to eat! The sides are so good you will be back for more!“
“We came here to try something new!! Wow! Our server was Ross, and he was amazing! We told him that this was our first time and he brought us samples! They were great! My boyfriend got the catfish and shrimp dinner with red beans and rice and hush puppies!! I ordered the lobster and shrimp pasta! It came with Caesar salad and garlic toast!! Ross did not tell us how big the servings were and we had to take some home! The atmosphere was great like in New Orleans and Mardi gras! They have the Blues Brothers out by the front door so can't beat that!! We will be back!!“
“went for lunch & was sat in sabrina’s section — sabrina was freaking hilarious and had amazing customer service skills , she is an amazing server and deserves all the recognition possible (and maybe a raise) , will def be coming back !!“
“Joyful House is a MUST try! ?Have you heard that restaurants attached to grocery stores are the best hidden gems?! Joyful House definitely lives up to this expectation! My Favs:#4 Goi Cuon: Fresh Spring Rolls (PRO-TIP: these are made to order, so you can request just shrimp or just pork)#42 Lau Canh Chua: Sweet & Sour Soup Hot Pot#39 Stir Fried Chili Tofu&& they have Boba Tea!!“
“Hidden gem! Despite being hidden in a rather boring strip mall Cowbron truly stands out as a great Mexican restaurant. It's a relatively new spot, and as I mentioned it's pretty unknown, so don't expect to wait long for a table. I personally have eaten here about 5-6 times and have yet to wait for a table on a Thursday or Friday night. Don't be fooled, they are amazing but quite off the map in terms of nearby restaurants, which is how I account for their low wait times. The food is great! The fajitas are large portions, enough for two to split after a couple baskets of chips and queso, and they have THE BEST CARNITAS I have ever had in my entire life. As a former chef I can definitely speak to this as carnitas are a dish that take time and thoughtfulness to be done great, both of which are evident once you've tried the tender meat on offer here. As a regular to Mariachis II and La Catrina I can tell you that this place has earned a spot in my top 3 favorite Mexican joints in the city. Go to Cowbron!“
“Happy hour! They have a great happy hours Monday- Friday 4-7 and 10-close… Look online for the details but the hurricane, muffaletta, peel and eat shrimp were pretty good. Fun ambiance with nice music. They have life music but we came to early. Totally worth checking for a good deal… we did get some of the house infused rums, got a daiquiri and a mojito… pomegranate and strawberry mint (or similar), both drinks were good. Recommended.“
“Absolutely amazing food! I've tried about 12 rolls so far, the seaweed salad, and orange chicken. My partner and I can't get enough of this place! This is one of the best places to eat around Grand and Gravois. I love being able to order online and bring it home!“
“Website says dress code was “smart casual”, and in actuality it was far more casual than that. People were in sweats, hoodies, one wore shorts to dinner when it had snowed 6” that day. It made me wonder who didn't care because they were rich versus who didn't know about dress code.“
“This was first time being there and I was impressed. The place was exceptionally clean, the two guys behind the counter were super friendly, and the food was ?? ???. - and I am talking 5 alarm. The Bread was fantastic, very good meat to bread ratio, fresh vegetables, all the way around top notch.“
“Food was very delicious and flavorful. I really enjoy authentic Mexican food, and hit the nail on this one. The corn they give you on the side was delicious and sweet and very moist. The drinks were deli's as well. The service was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations. The inside was very clean, spacious and dim lit. Can't wait to go again and try more food.“
“This was my first time going to dim sum in St. Louis. I was surprised at how spacious the store was with its high ceilings. The staff was passing around putting dim sum in a cart, and it was an authentic style where you could take what you liked. The fried rice had a good taste, but the rice was crushed. I couldn't eat the seafood dim sum that I was looking for, so I would like to get revenge again. Prices are also reasonable.“
“This is an awesome restaurant. The manager Brian was so personable and polite. He was quite fun to talk to.Our waitress Alyssa was totally awesome and fun to talk to as well. So the service was great, Management awesome and the food is amazing. We had 2 dozen oysters on the half shell... simple amazing and fresh. The beer on tap very good. I had a local brewery draft from Schlafly's it was coffee stout... awesome. They have many other choices of bottles and I think wine also. This was our 6th visit and on our first it was my 60th birthday present from my lovely wife. We both love it and call it our place as it's only 2 miles from our house. To sum this all up I would definitely recommend this place to locals that don't know about it as well as visitors. It's a great place to eat if your passing through so what are you waiting on ?“
“Nicki is the best Nicole is an awesome person awesome customer service ??? awesome food ??Parking: Front or backKid-friendliness: Yes and they have plenty of space ? no games but it's very nice on the inside ?Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it's wheelchair accessible ??“
“Jordan took care of us and was super friendly. The food was amazing, and I would eat here every week if I lived here. The other kitchen staff and front staff were very helpful and kind our experience doubled due to this! The little robot that came to our table was also adorable!“
“We sat at the bar Easter my husband & I. AJ was amazing!!! She was friendly had a smile on Her face and was very knowledgeable for the entire menu, and all the drinks, and even could describe how it tasted on your pallet basically, which is very hard for a lot of people, I was impressed. It was a very good time and my dirty martini was so yummy with the blues cheese olives.“
“I had been looking for another good black, owned fish, restaurant, other than mothers. Even though I like mothers fish, there aren’t many around…. When I found the Fishhouse, I realize I had found a home.. it’s a family owned business, and their fish is fresh and fried well. They even have good sides, and I don’t usually eat everyone’s side dishes.“
“Pretty solid. Was our first time having Indian, so this was a new experience. We got the dinner for 2, the soup was super good! The chicken tikka masala and the lamb curry was nice, though my lamb had a super crunchy bit that I couldn’t tell what it was. Not as spicy as I was hoping for but I was happy. The rice pudding they gave wasn’t very good, had a muted taste. The bread was excellent. Service was okay, the servers weren’t very chatty and we had like 4 different people checking in. Kind of an awkward experience. Would definitely get carry out or go again!“
“Stopped by randomly when we saw a barbecue smoker out back. Glad we did! Ribs were awesome - don’t forget to order the Mac and cheese, it was so yummy! Wish I’d taken a pic but we ate everything so fast. Also can’t beat the people, nicest owner and staff. Definitely going again.“
“Well, I've only been once to get oysters for a NYE soiree. The industrial park joint was none too fancy and, of course, smelled about like you'd expect a seafood wholesaler's to, but super friendly service, solid selection, great price and quality, so five stars for my needs.“
“I frequent the restaurant for brunch and happy hour and this was my first time coming for dinner. Although my party had a reservation, we still had to wait 30 min for another party to get up. The party was rude even though they were told several times to leave. To accommodate us, the manager provided free apps and dessert. The wait was disappointing, but the server Jackie made up for it with her warm hospitality.“
“Great Place to dine ? The Cajun boil bag is DELICIOUS! It came with ? corn, ?potatoes, sausage ? and shrimp ? Awwwe Man the broth n sauce in the bag was soo tasteful and full of garlic ? and it came with a side of garlic bread ?Definitely will be eating here again?? and recommending to my friends ?“
“I took my daughter who's 2 on her first bus ride. It must've been God's Plan. Our scheduled day had changed just as our little adventure had begun. At first, we were just going to go home. Instead, we detoured inside to the KING CHOP SUEY on West Florissant. We had such a wonderful and memorable time! The lady took our order and was so very patient. She made our day so much better. (I wish I had learned her name.) My daughter and I sat in and ate. Well, I sat, the baby sat every once in a while. (terrible 2's ?) No one complained, made faces, or gave any attitude. The food was SO GOOD, even the Crab Rangoon! It was hot, fresh and made just as asked. She called out my order as a number but I didn't have one. (it's on the receipt btw). I told her she hadn't given me a number. She didn't argue that she did or give me any flack. She just asked what I ordered. I found it later in my pocket later with my change. (Sorry Ma'am ?) I also asked for something so my daughter could eat on her own. She gave me a cute little baby sized box. It was perfect. The place was very clean, AND I felt safe, which is really something to say in St. Louis City. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! So we ate the leftovers. That was probably the clearest thing I've heard this girl say besides No, Mama, and Juice. Thank You Guys So Much!!! If ever I get another chance, I'll be back. I definitely recommend this location to others. A much better than their competitors. (Place Unspoken)Kid-friendliness: My daughter and I sat in and ate. “Would have never even known this place existed, but we got a "seize the deal". Started with the chicken wing special. We are both very picky, and these wings were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. We got the cod dish to split. We could have split the half. Such garlicky goodness. We live in Portsmout and will go again. The picture I posted is half.“
“Went about 50 minutes before closing on Christmas eve. Cashier great attitude, kind, and didn't rush is. Food good, hot, and corn wasn't over cooked. Workers were not loud in kitchen. First time at this location. I don't know if I just went on the right day! Great job!“
