“I got dinner here on a weekday in April and it was fairly busy. The food quality was a bit better than average and the wait for the food wasn't too long. The waitresses were nice and friendly. This restaurant always seems busy and packed in all the previous summers that I've walked by, so the wait is usually extremely long in the peak season.“
“Everyone here was terrific from the hostes to the chef. We were there during Tropical Storm Ophelia the night before landfall. The food was wonderful, beautifully presented and so delicious. My husband had the ribeye and I had beer battered fish and chips and we had a 1 1/2 of peel and eat shrimp. We will definitely go again.“
“Took a bit of time to get through to them on the phone, but well worth the effort.Directions provided were easy to follow, and everything was hop out of the pot fresh.Ordered enough for 3, and we ate it all, no leftovers!Great local seafood in an easy, self-cook at home style.I even brought home my cooking bucket :)“
“The real deal. Good food. Good people. Good location. Crabcakes could use some chunks of crab in my opinion, but they weren't that sort of cake. (I get it.) Potato salad was a work of art. These sorts of straightforward, basic, reasonable seafood places on the water that haven't deteriorated into tourist traps are becoming rare these days post-pandemic, it seems. The locals seem to keep it afloat during the off-season. Go eat there and enjoy *what* it is *while* it is. Don't take it for granted. Get there early. Just sayin'.“
“Where do I start?! The moment you step in the door you know it will be an experience. Start with oysters on the half shell, she crab soup, and then filet and lobster. We ended with apple bread pudding alamode. Off the charts amazing! Friendly service!“
“Great place that I wouldn’t hesitate to visit the next time I’m in CB. Attentive staff, good portions, good cost. I can imagine this place fills up quick in the summer time since it’s just a quick walk from the beach. Definitely worth a visit if you’re hungry!“
“Chef Dustin has a beautiful thing going here. The flavors of the shrimp and grits, shrimp salad, and the palomas were top notch. We had a culinary experience that we haven't had in a while. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, the outside is relaxed.I was worried this place would be a tourist trap but it was nothing like that.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free items are marked on the menu.“
“We visited for our 1 year anniversary and the service was great, the ambience was cozy and inviting, the salad was off the charts literally, yummy tequila sunrise cocktail, and the steak was cooked PERFECTLY which is rare ( no pun intended ;)I'm posting a card the restaurant gave us after dinner because they overheard it was our anniversary. It was our first visit & we will definitely be back!!!“
“We had a great dining experience along with our 2 pre-school aged kiddos. We called 30 mins in advance to try to make reservations. They took our name and number and suggested to be added to the waitlist which helped cut down our wait time when we arrived. Service was excellent and food is delicious. Would highly recommend the Crab Cakes and the Fisherman’s Stew. This place is a gem and looking forward to coming back!“
“We are local, and this is hands down our favorite restaurant in Carolina Beach! Very small but cool vibe and atmosphere. Almost everything we've had on their menu is absolutely amazing, and consistently cooked perfectly. If your looking for a "foodie" place to eat in CB, this is the spot to go. Highly recommend making reservations, as it is a very small place, and it fills up quickly. They have both meal and drink specials weekly, that are absolutely out of this world.Service is also amazing, always feel the staff is extremely attentive to us when dining in.Highly recommend!“
“I had an amazing experience at Fizzy Jane's in Southport! The food was incredible, the atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend Fizzy Jane's to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a fun and welcoming environment. 5 stars and I can't wait to go back!“
“Great good and great location on the water. They do a really good job taking care of you here and check in often. Great food and wait staff, highly recommend. Also the birds love the dock next door, so you get a little bit of bird viewing too“
“Good food for the price, fantastic service, and cute atmosphere. The menu wasn't very large especially for a place that is trying so hard to be a fusion restaurant. The menus we saw online from other reviewers aren't accurate, check when they were posted because the actual menu is much smaller. Wish I had taken a pic to post for everyone with this review. Otherwise, a nice little spot for a quick lunch!Parking: Not quite a strip mall, but definitely a small parking lot.“
“Solid 4 out of 5 stars. We enjoyed the lobster roll which was $20.99 and it was worth the money. Friendly staff, and definitely a locals place for sure. Had to pay for parking but overall quite happy with my decision to eat here.On a funny note, there is a sign that says “friends don’t let friends eat imported seafood” and on the chalkboard it said the crab was from Canada. (See pics) haha!Would return“
“To start off, there was no wait (yippie) we got seated right away, we got asked what we wanted to drank after like 6 mins, I got sweet tea which was surprisingly tasty. For appetizers the table got bruschetta stuff idk lol, it was rlly good. For like the main course I got Bangkok tuna (idk what it’s called whoops) and omg it was yummy. Overall 10/10“
“There is a good amount of cheese and bread in the soup. Rather sweet and seasoned perfectly. It is a little high price point for the amount and no bread is served on the side but overall I’ll give it a 4 1/2 out of five stars. The fries are evenly and thinly sliced with a unique shape. They are perfectly cooked neither overdone nor underdone, the oil must’ve been the perfect temperature because they’re not greasy and the seasoning is perfect. My wife described the salmon as amazing. The cream sauce is quite flavorful, and the salmon is cooked perfectly. It is a very generous portion. Everything else on the plate she said was cooked perfectly. The cauliflower fish tacos have a very generous portion of perfectly cooked small pieces of cauliflower, the sauce served with it is spicy and balances perfectly with the cauliflower and the tortilla. The shrimp on top of the salmon was delectable. It was cooked perfectly neither too soft nor too firm the rice had a surprising depth of flavor.“
“The food was great, our server was very patient and attentive. My family and I had no idea it was trivia night when we walked in, but that was very cool and we enjoyed it tremendously. My girlfriend is coming down for our birthday month in May and this will definitely be on the itinerary.Kid-friendliness: It’s a bar, so there’s that.“
“We stopped here on a whim and couldn't have been happier. My husband and I both got the grilled catfish sandwich and it was phenomenal! We could have each eaten a second one. The fries were awesome too! Our son got the blackened shrimp and loved it as well. Our waitress was attentive and so personable. Highly recommend this little gem.“
“Absolutely amazing experience, outstanding service at unbelievable speeds! Very kind and considerate even on a busy day like the 4th of July. The food is very delicious with great portions, plenty of leftovers for later! Everything remained stocked from sauces to cutlery and napkins. Cashier is bilingual, very fluent and well spoken. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy dining experience. I will most definitely be returning soon! :) Keep up the awesome service and cooking!!!! A+Kid-friendliness: High chairs available“
“We chose this restaurant due to the reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. The waitress recommended the shrimp and grits and they were the best that I have ever had; creamy and perfectly seasoned. My husband got the fish and chips , which were actually fries. He still enjoyed the beer battered fish. Most people don’t comment about tea, but their tea tasted freshly brewed and not overly sweetened .“
“Unfair, perhaps, since I've lived here for over 15 years....but it's our Go-To-Breakfast and sometimes Lunch. The long term Wait Staff (some over 20 years) are "ON IT!" and Dependable. Sometimes that is just as important as the Food. It's our Islands place to see and hook up with neighbors and Friends. Come and join in.“
“Olde Salty's is now the new Salty's in the boardwalk! It moved! We were walking by and checking Yelp, but could not find Salty's in Yelp. We decided to take a chance and went in. Don't let the dive bar look for you. The food is excellent! My wife had the citrus salmon and I had the blackened catfish. Oh my! Two huge catfish fillets. The servings are definitely healthy. And both meals were very, very good. Both my wife and I were very surprised at the quality of the food. The food came out incredibly fast. The bartender was so nice and helpful. Even loaned us an adapter to charge my wife's cell phone. Definitely a place that we will be back to the next time we are at Carolina beach. I want to try the shrimp boil next.“
“Food is good and portions are generous. They have quite a few items that have not been available at the other Mexican restaurants in town. Staff are friendly and courteous, but like a number of other local restaurants it seems there are not enough staff on hand. Price points are generally several dollars less per plate than local competitor. Today is our third visit, and we have not been disappointed at any of them.“
“I’ve been going here for years and this is by far the best bar in Carolina beach! Such a great time every time. They have live karaoke and great vibes. And recently they’ve improved, adding new drinks and better staff. If you’re in CB, you have to stop by here if you are looking for a great time. Highly recommend!!“
“Nice spot with great sunset views and great staff. Definitely need a reservation at dinner time. Nice menu with lots of seafood and nice preparations. Seemed reasonably priced given it is part of the club. Seems to be open throughout the day.“
“Top floor has the best view of the beach, boardwalk and amusement rides. This was the first restaurant we ate at when we arrived in Carolina Beach. They worked with me for substituting chips instead of pita bread for the dip to make it gluten friendly. The afternoon we went was the last Sunday of their summer jazz series. Great music!Dietary restrictions: Will work with you for gluten free options.“
“Lovely place. Pizza ? is delicious. Fine dining available.Vegetarian options: You should be able to find something minus meats.Dietary restrictions: They have Gulten free medium pizza.Parking: There are only a couple handicap spots.Kid-friendliness: Children welcome.Wheelchair accessibility: I’m handicapped and had so problems getting inside .“
“We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. Walked in and was able to secure a table. It was quite busy and the vibe was pretty good. I appreciate the open kitchen concept as it demonstrates transparency and shows that everyone is working together to create delicious food. Our server was fantastic and we enjoyed crab legs with shrimp / fish.Would return.Kid-friendliness: Family friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Elevator available“
“Cool spot on the water. Food is decent (average pub food). Service and atmosphere were excellent when we went on a Sunday night, we were seated quickly (despite a bit of a crowd) and our server was great.Wings were tasty. Fish sandwich lacked a little flavor, but was overall good.“
“My only negative is that it's a little loud because its a smaller space and crowded. However, if you don't mind that this is the perfect place! Delicious local food, super friendly people, and family owned. You can see the love and care that goes into this place. Charlie, the owner, is so nice and greets everyone personally. Our server was Ashley and she was top notch! Would definitely recommend this for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.“
