“Stopped in from out of town for lunch yesterday. I got the parrillada fajitas it was seasoned great and was delicious. Quite pleased with it. My buddy order the flautas and it looked good too. The garden salsa bought out with the chips was good, but our waiter brought us some chilli taqueria style salsa out as well. All 3 were tasty. If im near lufkin Hudson area again I'd go out of my way to stop in for lunch again.”

“We were in town for baseball playoffs and just happened to drop in. One of our best all time burgers. Fresh buns, fresh veggies and the meat patties were so good. We added an order of large onions rings. It was the perfect meal before heading to the game. If we lived closer we would definitely be regulars”

“Okay - first of all the service was so good the entire family commented on it at some point. So energetic. I wish I’d posted the review same day and captured our waitress’ name before I spaced it!! Will update the review at some if I can. Despite how busy they were we still got fast seating, we were checked on regularly, and staff was so energetic and wonderful listeners. Our waitress engaged with and helped the kids make great picks. This might go without saying if you know the area or (get recommendations from others like we do)… this is where you go to get Sushi.

The Sushi is prepared to perfection by dedicated artisans (you can watch through the glass at the bar). Sake Cafe is also very well staffed, clean, comfortable and huge spread of offerings on the menu. Enjoy!”

Everyone in the restaurant welcomed us and were very friendly. We ordered chicken strips and the cobb salad. They were delicious. Also, we wanted to try their peach shake and were so glad that we did. It was wonderful. We wanted to give a shout out to an employee named Melinda, who was very professional and answered all our questions. We certainly enjoyed our time spent talking to her. Thank you for hiring and training such hardworking respectful employees!”

“Every time I go to Louisiana to see my family, I always stop here to eat. It’s sort of like a tradition. Some of the workers here know and recognize me when I come in. These select workers also know my order by heart. The food always comes out great, with no problems, and I’ve never had a mistake in my orders from here. They know what they are doing. However, the only thing they need to work on is professionalism with some of their staff. Yesterday, I saw none of the people that knew me, but the ones that were there were rude. They barely acknowledged me, and were cussing left and right loud enough for the dining room to hear. When asked for assistance in ordering, they kind of laughed amongst each other, finished their conversation, and then decided to come let us order. I’ve never had an issue with Raising Canes, being my favorite chicken restaurant, however, it was yesterday where I saw that the management needs to teach their staff professionalism at work. Either way, the food was out fast and it was great.”

If you're looking for a little detour from the typical Mexican fare, this is your spot. BONUS: They take card! The salsas must be used in moderation; they are merciless.

Edit: Went back and ate with the wife who's kind of a picky eater; she absolutely loved it! My fellow gringos, be not afraid to try this place. It will not let you down.”

Others in my group loved their tacos, refried beans, rice, the French fries, burger. Perfect sweet tea. Salsa was hotter than I'm used to, but it was still a great heat. The only complaint was the straight from the can ball park cheese dip. Would definitely eat here again. The outside may not look like much, but the inside is clean and inviting, and the staff is kind and pleasant. Thanks for a great lunch!”

“This is such an underrated spot in Lufkin. They don't sell just baked potatoes, but they are definitely the star of the show. You can either get a giant, which is 4 potatoes I believe, or a mini, which is 2 potatoes. So yes, be prepared for big portions. There's also lots of combos and TONS of toppings for the potatoes. I got the giant #2 (cheese, sour cream, chives and bacon bits), and the mini #24 (cheese, buffalo chicken and a side of ranch). All potatoes come with butter and everything tasted so good and fresh too. It all filled me up great. Prices are reasonable, and the combination possibilities for the potatoes are endless. Definitely worth the money, would 100% come again!”

He passed away 2 months ago. So me and the kids went there to have a meal in order to honor him.
The food was great with only one exception. They need to make the guacamole with less of the onions and added ingredients. Needs More avocado in it.
