“My son and I ate here Easter night. It was FABULOUS! It had a very cool vibe and the people working there were outstanding, so friendly. Our server, forgot her name (SORRY), was terrific. Great suggestions, attentive but not overly so. The owner Matt was just as nice. Introduced himself, wanted to know how everything was, and thanked us for stopping in. But most importantly - the food and drink. WOW. We were both starving and hadn't eaten all day,so we shared many small plates.....bread, the Basket of French Fries - Melt-em-down, the ham plate, chilled beets and mushroom tartine. All terrific, but we both said the mushroom tartine was our favorite. We ordered potato gnocchi and arctic char for our dinners. Amazing. For the amount of food we ordered, we weren't stuffed, as the portions were just the right size. The arctic char had a maple beurre blanc sauce that was out of this world, so good, I used a spoon to make sure I got every drop! We shared a smallish scoop of pistachio ice cream layered with chocolate chards - just the right size for a sweet bite after dinner. All in all, one of the best restaurants I've been to in while, anywhere, but definitely the best in Burlington. Oh, and the cocktails......divine! Thank you! Can't wait to come back.”

“Tried this place on Sunday and the experience was amazing! There was no reservations left so we called when they opened and they told us they have extra spots reserved for walkins at the bar or chefs table. We got a cute little corner area of the bar and it was great! We had the rolls and oysters to start, then I had the scallops and beats for the small dishes and my partner had the swordfish. . The flavour profile of all 3 dishes were soooo good! and we finished off with a soft cheese for desert. We also ordered a smooth red Rioja which just made the night better. Definitely recommend!”

“Had a great experience sitting at the bar recently. They were very busy but the bartender took my order as soon as she could, and she was helpful & friendly. Their selection of amari is definitely among the best in the state. I ordered the arugula salad and it was massive, with a good amount of shaved Parm and a tasty dressing. Enjoyed tasting a preview of a super good cocktail that's now on their new Spring menu, called the "Bee's Peas" (thanks Nick!).”

“Still my favorite restaurant in Burlington after many years. Revisited last week for the first time in a couple of years and everything was phenomenal. The menu is ever changing but some classics remain - the muhamarra and baba ganoush served with warm pita are perfect. Also have been dreaming of the halloumi. Even my extremely picky eating 15 year old brother tried and loved almost everything which is a huge testament to this place. Order as many dishes as you can and savor each bite!”

Where we were sat was a bit loud but it didn't deter much from the time. “My mom came to visit me in town and we came here. So glad we did. Sat at the bar. Friendly prompt service. Good wine. Delicious bread!!! And I loved my entree: stuffed quail and mushroom risotto. Great flavor, well executed. Oh! And the tiramisu was THE BEST dessert I’ve had out! Seriously.I live here in Burlington and don’t go out that much anymore because I’ve been so let down by really expensive meals that aren’t that great. Big selection of beers-and they’re happy to let you sample before ordering. Also, great menu for accompaniments if you’re hungry! “Best Cider around!Update for my second visit!Best Cider, best Cider cocktails now anywhere near here last few trips to Burlington! Stopped in for some drinks and a snack.. Pretzel bites are great and definitely try a flight or two! The Dock Side Muke is amazing! Perfect plate to hang out and have a few amazing ciders. Make sure you have room in your car to bring a few cans back with you with some truly unique blends of Cider! Will be back again on our next travels through Burlington!”

“I have lived in the Chittenden county area for years and have tried just about every Chinese restaurant in the area. Volcano Asian Cuisine is genuinely one of the best. My girlfriend is quite the sushi lover and she thinks the sushi here is the best in Chittenden county, if not all of Vermont. Everything else we have tried (crab rangoons, lo mein, won ton soup, fried rice) were excellent. It’s definitely one of our three favorite chinese restaurants in Chittenden county, along with Oriental Wok (Essex) and Yummy (Colchester).”

“4. Great cafe with a big menu for breakfast and lunch and lots of amazing looking baked goods. Friendly staff and big open space. The door kept being left open so it was really cold inside. My partner had the breakfast sandwhich which he said was really good but could have benefitted from bacon (not just bacon jam). I had the chickpea salad which was good but there were a number of wilted lettuce pieces which was kind of annoying.They make their chai in-house and it’s great. They only have one alternative milk (oat) and the only option for regular milk is whole milk.They use vegetable oil on their cooktop so not great if you have an allergy to soy.No vegan options in the baked goods section except for the bread which was yummy!Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians- not a ton if you’re vegan!”

Churro was ok, nice to try and dont come here specifically for it.Unfortunately had to remove a star, almost 2 because older supervisor/manager was poorly handling the situation and it wasnt even busy. “It's pumpkin spice season and I was lucky enough to find Kestrel Coffee for a quick pumpkin spice latte and lemon poppy seed muffin. The coffee wasn't too sweet and had an authentic (not artificial) pumpkin flavor. The muffin was delicious and very lemony. It's a smaller coffee shop, but has a nice atmosphere with a super friendly staff!”

First, great beer selection. 2-their beer is high quality...and then some. 3-this is a no frills brewery; it's about the beer-no televisions, no promotional advertisement's (though they might do promo nights-I do not know), clientele was cheery and engaging (good "craic" as The Irish say and awesome personnel.4-Now, I only know of one employee (small sample size). Simon was a very attentive, friendly, tolerant barkeep, and practiced the willingness to partake in a bit of harmless rhetorical fun.5-But down to "brass tacks." Good prices and good food (fresh bagels and a great current cream scone), decently priced, good coffee drinks and great fresh fruit or veggie juices. The atmosphere is definitely my favorite bit. It's a great place for coffee (or in my case, usually a decaf dirty chai) and chat with a friend. I know it's a popular spot, and it can get busy, but we found it pretty quiet on a Tuesday morning around 930 (but busier by 10-1030).”

I always look forward to their Impossible kabobs made with great care and consideration for both allergies and inclusion of local ingredients. The flavor is amazing and the service is so friendly. “I remember eating Ms. Hong's Dumplings on Church Street with her cart. She has the best Dumplings in the City. After eating these i would defiantly drive 2 hours just to have them. I wish she had more options though. The City of Burlington residents loved her so much they helped pitch in for her to get her own store. Now that says alot doesn't it? I also wish she would sell frozen Dumplings and even sell them in bulk. She could get rich selling them.”

“There’s a German word Schatzi that means treasure and this place is a little treasure indeed. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. Sakes were delicious. The appetizers were incredible - we got the oshinko, soba, and tuna with quail egg. My partner got the sushi assortment and I got the steamed salmon in miso butter. I can *bathe* in that miso butter. The bartender and waitress were incredibly nice as well and very attentive. There’s not one bad thing at all. Highly recommend!”

Great happy hour/special menu from 4-5pm daily. The steak frites was great- sauce was one the sweeter side.They are super accommodating of allergies, I went in with a dairy and soy allergy and they were knowledgeable about which dressings and sauces were safe and knew without being told that vegetable oil is unsafe.Really kind staff and accommodating of children.Big menu with something for everyone.Dietary restrictions: Accommodating and knowledgeable about dietary restrictions- they were easily able to provide options for both a dairy and soy allergy.Kid-friendliness: Had baby with us and they were super nice about it. “We visited in mid April and called ahead to make sure we could still dine with our dogs after reading they were dog friendly. The hospitality we were met with was exceptional! Deb answered and told us they "would love to have us!" That response made us feel welcome right away before even setting foot in the place. They served us on the patio and brought water out for us and our dogs as well. A lot of other restaurants listed as dog friendly in the area would not serve us stating their patios were not open yet. But the Vermont Pub and Brewery went above and beyond! The burgers and beers we had were delicious! Even though we were the only patrons dining outside the staff checked on us frequently everyone was so friendly! They have a decent selection for gluten free options including beer if that's something you need. However, there is a small section of the dining area which is raised by a set of two or three stairs, and the bathrooms are unfortunately situated on a basement level. So it is serviceable in a pinch to those confined to wheelchairs, although it's interior arrangement leaves plenty to be desired when it comes to accessibility.”
