“My wife is Australian, and we are Armenian so when we heard that an Australian Lebanese chicken shop was right down the street from our office we had to check it out. I'm actually surprised it took me so long to figure out it was here! The owner Fred was there and he was so hospitable, his crew handle our order with care and the food was delicious and 100% Australian approved. The chips and secret menu item (chicken salt) were fire...my favorite on the go item is the OC wrap, hands down, and if I were trying to go healthy and light, the Newport Bowl is how I'd roll. If you've got time to sit down, grab the whole chicken with Lebanese bread and garlic salt.....straight fire! Great food, Great prices, nice environment, and friendly hard working staff...highly recommend and I'll be back!“
“I’ve had Zabb both take out and dine in and I will say each time the food is always exceptional. It’s my favorite Thai spot. I am vegan and loveeee their yellow curry. I get a spice level 10 and all the flavors are amazing. Can’t recommend enough. If I could have it everyday I would. At my work it is our go-to lunch option.“
“Birthday brunch with the cousins today. This was on our list of places to try so we went for it.Chilaquiles were ordered twice, with substitutions, waffles for the birthday girl and the farmer John’s special for me.Order a Diet Coke and they handed me a bottle of DC with a glass of ice. Bummer. I love fountain drinks. The chilaquiles had a hint of cinnamon in the sauce. Not a fan of adding cinnamon and it took away some of the flavor. HUGE skillet full. It’s a ton of food. Tables are too small for such big plates! The Farmer John’s plate was good but lacked flavor. Needed salt & pepper but we didn’t ask for any.Waffles were good when whipped cream and a side of berries were added. The server was great but we had to keep asking for ice tea refills. It was fresher brewed tea so it was hot so we needed to keep asking for ice. One of the servers made a crazy eyed face at us!The butter for my toast was served as a small ball in a large metal cup. The ketchup was half full in a small metal cup. Perhaps they should switch the small & large cups and maybe fill them up a little more? Maybe they are conserving since people are wasteful. All in all it was good, not great.“
“This place is popular as it can get. You come there and just hear what people are raving about to get while you’re in line. Have to come back on Thursday to get the special sandwich ?. The fries are ? as advertised. A variety of drinks from the glass bottle also. The smoked double pastrami is a must try tho, and the meatloaf sandwich hit the spot.“
“Great menu with a variety of selections. Everything we've had here has been great. Only complaint is we had made a reservation and they didn't have a table ready... and wouldn't for at least 15-30 minutes. We decided to sit outside even though it wasn't our preference.“
“Wow! Such a nice and classy restaurant/hookah spot! We wanted some hookah so looked up nearby spots! We went in without a reservation on Saturday night. Hookah is served only after 6 pm. They have limited flavors but the hookah itself was great! I got the ground beef kebob plate (koobideh) with no rice because I'm on keto. I also asked for no dressing but a side of olive oil and lemon juice. They brought out my plate exactly as I ordered. The kebob was soo juicy and delicious! Everything was great! They even have a full bar so you can order alcohol or tea! Will definitely be back when we are in the area again!“
“I had a wonderful experience at Moulin! The food was delicious, the coffee was absolutely perfect, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality meals and a friendly atmosphere. Definitely a 5-star spot!“
“Kéan Coffee Artisan Roasters serves the best coffee I've ever had, and their bakery items are top-notch too. Haven't tried every coffee yet, but I'm getting closer with each visit. Highly recommend to any coffee lover who appreciates exquisite brews and delicious pastries. Cheers!“
“Authentic Italian ristorante and I loved this place. Very cozy atmosphere and the server was super friendly. He said that this place has been running over 30 years by the same owner's family. Food quality matters? You gotta go there. Size matters? You can leave your worries out the door. Don't skip Tiramisu. They make it from scratch and it is a Must to try.“
“We only stopped here for shakes and didn't eat but the food looked good and there were smiles on faces. The choice of shake flavours was really good (15+ I think) and they were awesome. Really thick, plenty of it. And it's a great location, with plenty of seating overlooking the sea so it couldn't have been better. The seating has outdoors gas heaters aswell which was great in April and made it very comfortable sat outdoors.“
“We ordered the gyro plate with Greek salad, garlic potatoes and humus. Everything was fresh with great flavors. The spicy cilantro was a little bit spicy but had excellent flavor. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Would definitely recommend pita pita.“
“What a great little space for all of your baked goods and savory treats. Came in here on a Wednesday late morning for a nice small lunch and got the grilled cheese, a lemon almond loaf, and a seasonal latte of cinnamon and honey. It was all wonderful and definitely hit the spot. In the grab and go, there were salad and sandwich options, which would be great for someone looking for things that are more hearty. The service was fantastic and all staff were friendly, which made it enjoyable.“
“We went for brunch and it was so good!! The Surfer Rancheros were amazing. Everything was fresh, healthy, and delicious! The mimosa flight was a lot of fun. Kale-apple juice and the pineapple juice were our favorites.Dietary restrictions: So many gluten free and vegan options on the menu.“
“I just love the pastries and the smoothies. My favorite combination is the Sao Paulo Acai smoothie with a ham and cheese empanada. The Madley Mango bowl is also a good choice. And the staff is super friendly! It's one of my favorite spot for sure!“
“Excellent cuisineA little piece of FranceToo bad that on arrival we were made to wait 20 minutes at the bar (like 2 or 3 tables) asking us twice what we wanted to consume before finally sitting in the room on the left which was almost empty. It's a shame that the waiter doesn't understand what we're asking and forgets to bring us or brings something completely different from what we asked for (drinks).“
“This is one of my favorite places for casual coffee or meeting with clients. The drinks and food are great, ambiance is wonderful, and there are plenty of spots inside with chargers if you need to work on your computer. And there is a yoga studio nearby if you want to do your morning workout, then grab some coffee!Parking in front can be tough to find during peak hours but there is a lot next to the bank with plenty of spots.Highly recommend this location.Parking: Parking in front of Kit can be tough to find during peak hours but there is a lot next to the bank with plenty of spots.“
“This is such a cute and cozy restaurant on Balboa Island, great to stop in and grab a bite to eat after a walk around the island. The Stuffed Zucchini Flowers, RH Mac & Cheese and the Short Rib Fettuccine were the favorites of the evening by far. We could have just ordered doubles of these dishes and been in bliss. The shrimp and scallop curry risotto and chicken pot pie, for my taste were a bit bland; however, the rest of my dinner party did not agree and for them, the chicken pot pie was up there with the three favorites of the evening.“
“Always love coming to Salt & Straw for some tasty unique ice cream flavors. If you're a foodie, you gotta check out the flavors that Salt & Straw puts out! I came here with a group of 4 and our six month old (just along for the ride) after grabbing dinner in Laguna Beach. We got lucky in getting here while the line wasn't huge...our group had fun trying a bunch of flavors before placing an order. We had 4 split single scoops. I'm a personal fan of the Honey & Lavender classic flavor, but I know it's not everyone's thing. It was about $32 for 4 ice creams, which is certainly on the higher-end side, but a single scoop is huge and it's a good value for their house made delicious flavors. Certainly recommend trying this Portland, OR original gem that has made its way down to Southern California.“
“The food and atmosphere was incredible…burrata, meatballs and Mary’s chicken are fantastic. The burger and ceviche is also incredible. A not to miss spot right on the water. Savannah is also incredible with beer and wine recommendations as well as food knowledge. Highly recommend.“
“I've only had the snickerdoodle cookies so far, and they are absolutely delicious. They tasted like your grandma's homemade cookies, but you can get as many as you want because your mom isn't there to stop you.10/10 would recommend, and will be going back soon. The owner is great, she's super nice and loves what she does! What more can you ask for?“
“Valentine’s Day at Sol Grill was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and charm. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening, with dim lighting, and a cozy atmosphere that instantly set the mood.”The food and service was fantastic, with attentive staff who anticipated our every need without being intrusive.Overall, our experience surpassed all expectations. It was the perfect setting to celebrate love and indulge in outstanding cuisine. We left feeling not only satisfied but also deeply grateful for the memorable evening we shared. We can’t wait to return and create more beautiful memories at this charming gem.“
“Wow, just wow! Obviously, we had to try the gyoza. I ordered the pork option (you can do chicken, pork, or 2 other options that I can't remember right now, veggie I think). You then have the option of choosing the sauce for the gyoza and there were so many options! I chose the teriyaki and the mango haberno, which ended up being my favorite. I also ordered the rocking salad, spring mix with Caesar dressing. I wasn't aware that it came with onions so there were really strong onion flavors in my salad, which I'm personally not a fan of so next time I'll make sure to ask for no onions. Otherwise, salad was fresh and dressing was ok. My husband ordered the steak sandwich and made me wish I had ordered it too. I had a bite, ok maybe two, and it was delicious. The steak was extremely flavorful and tender, not chewy at all. The slaw mix was fresh and a perfect compliment to the steak. The roll it came on was soft and melted with the steak. The lunch deal is awesome because it comes with the sandwich, a side (we got the fries which were really good) and a drink for $15! So not only was the food really good, everything was reasonably priced which is a rare find in this area. My husband's exact words were "wow, can I order this everyday?". I couldn't agree more! The location is right in front of the plaza to the left side. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes if you are just looking to pick up, or they validate parking also! They have some games inside so it's worth eating in. I will say we tried to order their food the first time through Grubhub but the menu was wrong on there. They called me from the restaurant to let me know and my order was completely refunded through Grubhub. Just great customer service!“
“No trip to Balboa Island is complete without stopping and getting a frozen banana and occassionally some ice cream here. The banana’s are big enough to share and have a variety of delicious flavors. Highly recommended.Parking: Finding a nearby parking spot can be rough, especially on the weekend.“
“A nice cafe for brunch, pastries, and coffee! Lots of seating indoors and outdoors but will get busy on the weekend. Lots of parking which is nice.Food wise, I really enjoyed their breakfast burrito. My partner had their eggs benedict which I felt was average. Their pastries were nice! I liked their chocolate croissant and raisin scone. Also enjoyed their latte, you can choose to substitute for oat or almond milk at no additional cost, which I appreciate :)“
“The name did not sound promising and the location is hidden behind the car park of another restaurant - but despite our trepidation, this place turned out to be excellent for dinner. I had an excellent Reuben sandwich and my wife had plenty of gluten free options to choose from. Service was friendly.“
“Absolutely wonderful! It's always refreshing to visit a restaurant that is 100% vegan. It's even better when the ambiance and atmosphere is also wonderful. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is expansive. The service is great. If/when I move to the area, I'll be a regular here! Don't keep scrolling for a place to eat - this is it!“
“Wandering for several hours with my daughter-in-love, her newborn and her 2 year old we were ready for dinner. Wilma's not only offered us a window, but a back cozy seating so mama could nurse and the 2 yr old could be free to chat. The food was delicious. I shared a chicken nacho with my grandson and my daughter had the sourdough bread chowder. The entire staff were quick to assist when needed and offered great service. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable with the beautiful table clothes. A must see and visit when wandering in Balboa Bay.Sadly no food pictures as a toddler kept me busy.“
“I asked the whole staff for there favorite flavor they gave it to me no hesitation this CHRIStmas eve 2023 @ 4 pm all 4 staff were very helpful and even gave me a cup at the end with my cone give these guys a raise good job yall gelato tastes great to MERRY “
“Ordered the legendary Balboa Bar! It was busy but not overly crowded and there's plenty of community seating in the little shopping area. Service was quick and excellent. The bar was delicious and so fresh--it's also MASSIVE! They also don't skimp on the toppings so it can end up being pretty dense! Recommend sharing!“
“OK I hate to share this with everyone because I love how low-key the spot is. Best sushi in Newport Beach tucked away in a quiet little courtyard with great ambience on the patio. The service is always excellent. My husband who is not a sushi lover is happy to have dinner here, big fan of the Sakana roll, the Olivia roll, and the J roll“
“I'm absolutely in love with this place! The layout is so unique - when you walk through the "front door," you're still outside; stairs take you down to an outdoor patio with a beautiful large tree in the center. There is a bar out there, though it's been closed whenever I've been, probably because I've never gone during the summer. Once you've reached the patio, to the right is the real front door Lol. Step inside & you'll see a casual typical pub to the right, down a couple more stairs, windows will be open to the patio with favorable weather. To the left of the main entrance is a cozy, mahogany, more formal dining area complete with a fireplace. This layout alone is enough to enjoy a drink or dessert, but the food I've had was delicious, too. I love the "Black Bush Stew," which is a delicious beef stew (generous chuncks) with a dollop of mashed potatoes, 2 lamb chops & a shot of Black Bush whiskey! It's no longer on the menu, but I last went in February & our server was amazing - friendly, funny, & accommodating - & had it made for me anyway! I haven't been on a night with live music, but that would be icing on the cake. Love this place!“
“I always liked this cafe for their breakfast and lunch menu. So I thought I'd take my granddaughter here for a breakfast, she really likes this place too. She ordered the pancake special with a side of hash browns and extra egg. So much food she took some home. I had the the veggie skillet, so delicious, with a side of one pancake. Oh my goodness, that one pancake was eight dollars! The tab for our breakfast for was over $70 and damm that a lot. I know prices have gone up, but it's gonna be a while before I go back.“
“We ordered the matcha latte and espresso and both were good, but not amazing. The drinks matcha latte could be a bit stronger and was a light green color. I prefer it to be stronger and a darker green. The same thing for the espresso. The espresso is not as dark and rich in flavor as we ideally like it to be. The coffee shop is cute and a nice place to work from if you want to get fresh air. Service is good and the baristas are friendly.“
“We ate here twice on our trip .. Food was fantastic, everyone in our group loved what they ordered. Didn't take long to get our food. Staff was exceptional, very very friendly and super nice! Little difficult to find at night, kinda hidden but well worth it!“
“Overall, this establishment has been a staple to Orange County. High quality fish, service, and atmosphere, so proud to see this place flourish.Poké is always fresh, with good portions, amongst other items that are always prepared with great ingredients include: poké burrito, sushi rolls, ceviche.Thank you for such a clean place and great vibes.“
“Amazing. Ordered the Shrimp for the protein. Side of roasted Broccoli with seasoned bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. The very fresh fruit bowl consisting of grapes ( sliced in half) a few segments of very sweet tangerine and pineapple as a delightful finish.Oh yes; and the encore... The cookie and lemon cake..My wife and I will be back.“
“this place is a low-key and hidden gem. I've always gotten their sandwiches (great on sourdough or the "rustic roll," which is their pizza dough) but recently got a pizza for my 2 year old and DAMN it was good! bubbly chewy crust, simple quality toppings, tasty ranch on the side, grab a bottle of vino and chill on the patio... perfect place to grab a bite with kids, no snooty vibes, and a variety of options. we have definitely become regulars here.“
“Great Pizza, great location if you don’t mind eating outside this place with your friend or taking it to go after a night out on the beach or bar hopping!!Price is alright , but what I do like about this place is the consistency, been coming here for about 5 years now and I always get what I expect! Nothing more, nothing less.“
“This little shop is so cute, they have frozen yogurt with topping of your choice, candy apples, and chocolate galore. The chocolate is so good. I definitly reconmend. Parking is a little difficult because of all the people and you have to park on street but trust me it is worth it. Prices are great.“
“Whenever my family and I go on vacation to Newport, we often eat here. The pizza is delicious and decently priced. The location is great and the restaurant has always been clean. The side of the restaurant is open so you can sit and people watch and enjoy the cool air.“
“Ambiance: nice and clean, subtle, and family style design. Wasn't too busy but a nice atmosphere.Service: amazing service, quick and friendly. Had no complaints at all. Our server was knowledgeable about different tequilas and helpful with the decisions.Drinks: I just came for a few drinks and had a great time. Had a margarita and tequila on the side. Both were delicious!“
“A great burger stand with a great staff, and great food. One of the best burger and salad combo we had. Everyone was working with a smile at their faces, fast, and attentive. The burger was perfectly cooked, the salad was way better than expected, not using burguer ingredients, but actual salad stuff. Very tasty. Please come by and try for yourself!“
“I come here if not everyday for lunch at least three times a week. Artys is reasonably priced, and the food is AMAZING! I’ve tried their salads, veggie pesto wrap, chicken pesto hot sandwich, and they never fail to impress me with how great they are. The owner is SO friendly and helpful. 10/10, if I could give this place multiple 5 star reviews I would.“
“Absolutely love this gem of a sanwhich shop! The sandwiches are extremely flavorful, creative & there's a good variety. Staff is always polite. These don't taste like every other generic sandwich from other places. We've ordered every sandwich over the years, There isn't one anyone said they wouldn't get again. Fun mix too being inside a convenience store, the kiddos can get a treat too!“
“Super chill local coffee shop with some high octane caffeine and Maybe the coolest playlist in coffee ?. The 1st thing I noticed when I patronized this java hut is most of the customers walk here from NEWPORT SHORES!super duper local customer base.Kid-friendliness: Def a chill spot for the little ones“
“I was told to try a Newport Beach locals' hidden gem, Alta Coffe and Warehouse Roasting Cafe. It's off the beaten path of the main section of Newport Beach, so you may have been missing it all this time unless you frequent the neighborhood. So we stopped in for lunch and ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and the Sunrise Breakfast Sandwich off the breakfast menu, which is served all day! Their bread is freshly-made daily, so the exterior of your sandwich may change depending on the day, and you can'tever go wrong with fresh baked bread, imo. Both were excellent, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was quaint, rustic, vintage, artsy, and unique, all at the same time. If you're a local,.you know about this place, if not, try it, it's worth the stop!“
“Very pleased to be seated in pleasant location, considering dining solo. Decor very nice (rooms of a comfortable proportion for comfortable and quiet atmosphere. Service attentive. Food flavorful and of good quantity. Everything to be expected in a "fine dining" experience!“
“Absolutely love this place, been coming here ever since college when I was done checking out the bars and places around Balboa/Newport. And now even though I don't drink, I really appreciate a 24/7 joint that is extremely consistent with their product and always a great price. There certainly are other 24/7 places near me, but I feel Seaside has such a good turnover on goods that they never have stale items to sell. Other donut shops sometimes carry items that seem that they have been sitting out too long, and so I really love the freshness (or perceived freshness?) that Seaside has to offer. The associates are always super friendly and usually tell me good morning when it is like 3-4 AM, and the store is cluttered but quite clean. Around 3 AM seems to be when they are wiping down the racks and behind the glass display, but it also showed that they were restocking the racks with fresh donuts! So it has been awesome to visit this spot during the late nights / early mornings, and I definitely do not mind continue to support this small business.“
“Just left Golden Spoon in Newport Coast and was helped by Chris who helps us all of the time... Chris is FANTASTIC... kind, courteous, funny, just an all-around great guy!! Thank you so much Golden Spoon Newport Coast for having Chris on your team!! :)“
“A MUST TRY! Make sure to grab reservations! This restaurant makes it into my top 10, if not top 5 list of best restaurants I've visited. It wasn't any one thing, it was that EVERYTHING was fantastic. The service: the team at Fable & Spirit take the time to give their guests the best experience possible. The cocktails, and the food were all perfectly balanced in their flavors and excellently prepared-- what I loved most was that there were blends of flavors I hadn't experienced together before and they were delightful. I sat at the bar and Blake and his team took the best care of me.- Wood Fired Pizetta: delicious, I'd order again.- Short Ribs: delicious, but likely would not order again- Himachi (seasonal) Sashimi Plate: so fresh and amazing flavors, I'd always order their seasonal Sashimi.- Chasing Perfection Cocktail: Unique and delicious cocktail, would absolutely order again!!!- Callebraut Chocolate Budino: Shockingly delicious. This dessert was a show stopper and unlike any other dessert I've experienced. Would order again.I would love it if this team created a tasting menu experience!!!Fable & Spirit is perfect for date night ❤️.“
