“I have been going here since they opened up and Iong story short, I would recommend this as one of few seafood boils on the island that is consistent in all aspects.

Pricing for me is seemingly higher than other reviews but when I go here with my friends/family, we come hungry. I will say though, cost to quality is not worth it for certain items. My only specific “complaint” is their “fried baskets” are packed with your sides and barely any of the actual items you ordered.

Service has been consistent - of the many times I have dined in, which is probably 30 at this point, I have had one indecent server serving us, all the other times they have been so friendly and accommodating.

Busy or not, your orders are fulfilled in less than 30 minutes - quickest I have experienced was 15 minutes for 6 pounds and 2 orders of apps.

Alcohol is cheaper vs other restaurant . Definitely recommend their mixed Soju pitchers, alcohol ratio is respectable and also tasty, so if you have a group, just order one or two and share it.”

“Food is usually always good! we went there this past week and their pork belly was basically freezer burned so when you cook that it’s almost as tough as leather. Other than that, it was great food and the brisket is always good cut. Service was really good, they always there to check on you and take more orders. Interior could use more decor maybe?”

“I do love their food. BUT everything is so self service at this point. You have to scan QR code to check in/put your name on waitlist. They no longer provide tablet at table to order. They give you a receipt with a QR code to scan and then you can order from the web browser. The workers only take your drink order and clean up after you leave. Takes away from the dine-in experience.

Anyways, it’s nice to see they put some new things on their menu. Spicy ahi wonton was bigger than expected. I noticed a few things pass by that I will want to try next time. If it says spicy, believe them.

“Never had I imagined eating a hot dog with Kalua pig amd onion rings on it or anything else as I eat my hot dogs with only mustard and relish! Decide to give this place a try and must say the hot dog I ordered called "common kings" was very delicious! Definitely gonna go back for more! It isn't a regular bot dog bun that they use either, which make this hot dog so tasty and unique! The only warning is that it is a little messy due to the size, but totally worth the mess!”

“Anytime my mom asked, “Do you wanna go get Ayame ramen?” my answer was always, “Yes! YAY, Ayame!” As a kid, this was the first place I ever had ramen that wasn’t from a cup or a packet, and it made a huge impact on my tastebuds and what I’d be open to trying for the rest of my life.

Their curry and ramen are both incredible. I still remember staring at the fish cake, wondering what it was, but loving the flavor and texture, and thinking the bright pink swirl looked so cool. I even started putting chili oil in my ramen at a young age because of this place, I loved the heat and the flavor.

This place left such a lasting impression on me, and I would love to revisit and experience that nostalgia again, especially with my mom. That’s the heart of what makes a great restaurant, when someone loves their food enough to share it, and it becomes part of your memories together.

“Went there earlier today and got the wafu steak with the sashimi, tempura(5pcs), and miso soup(included). And lemme tell you they have the most ono wafu steak. You could tell that steak was marinated. It was tender and juicy. You know when your order is ready when the whole restaurant smells like steak. I would definitely recommend trying the wafu steak. It feeds a family of 3 for 30 bucks.”

“Needed some ice-cold coconut water, so I went straight to the man! Freshly cut, iced cold, and deliciously refreshing. It’s just what the doctor ordered.

It was $10 payable by cashapp, Venmo, or cash. Very convenient.

After finishing the drink, they will cut your coconut in pieces so you can scoop out the meat. It’s a young coconut so there’s not too much.

Highly recommended if you’re in the area and I’ll be back.”

Service was courteous and kind, restaurant is clean and when I went during the lunch hour, it was easily accessible with decent amount of parking in front of the restaurant and along the street. I particularly enjoyed the jerk chicken and rice and peas. The chicken patty was also delicious. All in all I plan on coming back to Island Patty and recommend it for you too!”

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.”

The one thing is I wish they'd get the phones taken care of, for some reason when you call in it often goes straight to voicemail - but I usually walk in to order so it's not a big deal. If you can't call in def just stop by to see if they're open, it's worth it!!”

However, they don't answer the phone and they sometimes close for no discernable reason. Came back a few days later for lunch again at moon and they were closed.”

This location was so delicious and cooked perfectly and great portion size. The macaroni salad was the best I’ve had in Hawaii. I have to say they did the next home job.”

“Our favorite Big City Diner location is the one inside Windward Mall in Kaneohe. We've known the owner Lane Muraoka before he opened his first location in Kaimuki. He also provided food donations to all my movie productions. So many restaurants turned me away but not him. His generosity and support will never be forgotten.

Now the ono food. We usually start with appetizers fried calamari and fresh poke. My wife loves all their sandwiches. I tend to order the same thing every time. Mamasan's meatloaf with rice sprinkled with furikake. On occasion I get the hamburger steak. Everything on their menu is delicious.”

They have the usual Ba-Le menu and have added several Chinese dish selections which are also delicious. Not sure if they still do it, but in the past, they grew all their own Basil, mint and green onions. A very dedicated couple of owners who have weathered the pandemic and continue to provide that old familiar taste and service that we have come to know.”

I didnt realize it, but this has been my baseline fried rice to judge all other fried rice❤️ Pork hash wrapper was a little thicker than I'm used to, but the filling was so good with the hot mustard. Nice size gau gee as well and the stuffed bittermelon was delicious! The lady dishing up the orders was pleasant and kind. Can't wait to go back for more.”
