“After my left knee replacement surgery in December 2023 I experienced a gout attack in that whole area of my leg. I was bedridden and couldn’t put weight on it. A decision was made to find a skilled nursing/rehab facility. I was able to get a bed at Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kaneohe.
From my 1st day the admin office, nursing, and CNA’s were Great!! The physical therapist staff were also terrific!! Love it there for my total of 20days! I was able to get a hair cut too! If I had do it again I would definitely go there hands down!! Plenty Mahalo’s to Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kaneohe!👍🏽🤙🏽💪🏽💪🏽”

“We were going to try the all-you-can-eat, but instead went with the chef’s choice BBQ course. It came to $95 for the two of us. The meat quality was excellent very tender and delicious! The miso soup was a bit disappointing, but everything else was very satisfying.

They gave us a big portion of kimchi. Oh, and the bibimbap had a slight buttery taste to it.”

“I recently moved to Kaneohe bay after getting married 4 months ago, Yakiniku Chodang would have to be my favorite korean bbq spot by far. It's never too crowded, kept clean and always has good service. My husband and I have been served by the same lovely person a few times though she wasn't here this time. That's okay as tonight's server was a chill guy with humor. Would very much recommend this place if you're hungry and don't want to wait :)”

“I do love their food. BUT everything is so self service at this point. You have to scan QR code to check in/put your name on waitlist. They no longer provide tablet at table to order. They give you a receipt with a QR code to scan and then you can order from the web browser. The workers only take your drink order and clean up after you leave. Takes away from the dine-in experience.

Anyways, it’s nice to see they put some new things on their menu. Spicy ahi wonton was bigger than expected. I noticed a few things pass by that I will want to try next time. If it says spicy, believe them.

“Driven by this place dozens of times, but it looked so touristy - big bus tours stopping, shells in the window, etc. - never stopped. Obviously finally did and the chicken was excellent, as was the mac salad and huli huli sauce. Grabbed it to go and ate at a beach up the road. So good forgot to take pics until it was demolished!”

“Needed some ice-cold coconut water, so I went straight to the man! Freshly cut, iced cold, and deliciously refreshing. It’s just what the doctor ordered.

It was $10 payable by cashapp, Venmo, or cash. Very convenient.

After finishing the drink, they will cut your coconut in pieces so you can scoop out the meat. It’s a young coconut so there’s not too much.

Highly recommended if you’re in the area and I’ll be back.”

“Went there earlier today and got the wafu steak with the sashimi, tempura(5pcs), and miso soup(included). And lemme tell you they have the most ono wafu steak. You could tell that steak was marinated. It was tender and juicy. You know when your order is ready when the whole restaurant smells like steak. I would definitely recommend trying the wafu steak. It feeds a family of 3 for 30 bucks.”

“Have been on the island for a couple of years now, coming from the East Coast, and had been missing good Jamaican food, and this place did not disappoint. Service was courteous and kind, restaurant is clean and when I went during the lunch hour, it was easily accessible with decent amount of parking in front of the restaurant and along the street. I particularly enjoyed the jerk chicken and rice and peas. The chicken patty was also delicious. All in all I plan on coming back to Island Patty and recommend it for you too!”

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.”

“I'm a fan of classic boba tea—just black tea, milk, and boba—and this is the best spot I've found so far. I like my tea with just a hint of sweetness and a strong black tea aroma at the finish, and this place delivers exactly that (plus, you can customize the sweetness level). Too often, boba shops focus only on the tapioca and overlook the quality of the tea, but here, both are done right. The tea is rich and flavorful, and the boba have the perfect soft, chewy texture that rounds out the drink. I also appreciate that they open at 10 a.m.—most places don’t open until 11, and I need my caffeine fix in the morning! I've been searching for a great boba tea spot on Oʻahu, and so far, this one really stands out.”

“Came to dinner tonight with my husband. He’s been craving good roast duck and this place was it for him. Clean, great service, delicious and generous portions!”

“Anytime my mom asked, “Do you wanna go get Ayame ramen?” my answer was always, “Yes! YAY, Ayame!” As a kid, this was the first place I ever had ramen that wasn’t from a cup or a packet, and it made a huge impact on my tastebuds and what I’d be open to trying for the rest of my life.

Their curry and ramen are both incredible. I still remember staring at the fish cake, wondering what it was, but loving the flavor and texture, and thinking the bright pink swirl looked so cool. I even started putting chili oil in my ramen at a young age because of this place, I loved the heat and the flavor.

This place left such a lasting impression on me, and I would love to revisit and experience that nostalgia again, especially with my mom. That’s the heart of what makes a great restaurant, when someone loves their food enough to share it, and it becomes part of your memories together.

“Love these guys, the food is consistently good, and the restaurant is run by a lovely family! The atmosphere is calm and cozy; it's a small space but they've done it up nicely. Would wholly recommend eating here if you're in the neighborhood.

The one thing is I wish they'd get the phones taken care of, for some reason when you call in it often goes straight to voicemail - but I usually walk in to order so it's not a big deal. If you can't call in def just stop by to see if they're open, it's worth it!!”

“This shop has been here for decades. You will always find wonderful things to eat. Take out and cash only. I recommend their spring and summer rolls. Tasty and filling. They have the usual Ba-Le menu and have added several Chinese dish selections which are also delicious. Not sure if they still do it, but in the past, they grew all their own Basil, mint and green onions. A very dedicated couple of owners who have weathered the pandemic and continue to provide that old familiar taste and service that we have come to know.”

“This place is always understaffed and drowning in orders, especially from online orders. I would advise the management to shut online ordering off briefly when the store starts to get overwhelmed at peak hours. There was a stack of 7 or 8 pizzas sitting for a good 5 to 10 minutes not cut or boxed on the packaging table getting cold which is not an acceptable business practice.”

“My daughter has a food allergy. We didn't realize that the food we ordered her had a sauce on top that she was allergic to, since we couldn't see it in the menu photo. We had to ask to have it remade. And, unfortunately, it was right as they were preparing to close for the day. The employees very kindly remade the meal. They took her allergy very seriously. It is obvious that they used care to make the new one and did not try to reuse the food from the previous order. We are so thankful for how kindly they treated us and how quickly they remade the meal. Thank you for fantastic service and keeping my daughter safe! We will definitely be coming back.
