“We are Marriott Owners and stayed on property to enjoy the Royal Sonesta amenities. Kukui's bar opened up after their beautiful remodel.while we were there. I shared my thoughts with Anthony, who was the manager on site. Christmas Day was crazy busy and the staff kicked butt and did a fantastic job. Boy, were they hustling and still kept their composure and professionalism! The menu has been refreshed and had many great healthy options. The prices are standard for this type of higher end property. The breakfast menu offered many options and all that we tasted were beautifully plated and very delicious! Yes, there were hiccups, which is expected, but the staff did the best they could. I'm not going to mention what needed to be improved on yet. “We stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort and went to Shutters the first night to get a drink to have while walking on the beach. It was not high quality. I saw the "bartender" go to the cooler and grab a premixed "manhattan" in a glass and pour it into a plastic cup for us to go out to the beach area. My wife had a mai tai. I think that one was at least mixed when it was ordered. Mine tasted like it was - tired, a bit diluted, and clearly made long before I drank it. If that were the end of the story, I would be arguing about whether to do 2 or 3 stars, but the best part is what came next. We were wandering around in Hanapepe and ended up buying a fresh dragonfruit from a little store. When we came back, I went to the bar to see if they could give me a knife. I expected a plastic or maybe butter knife, but the busboy got me a steak knife, which was so much better. Next night, we had some left over poke and I asked for whether they had soy sauce, and the busser came back with packets for us to take to the room. The staff definitely went out of their way and I would give 5 stars for that, but I cannot ignore the bad drinks. Did not get to try the food.”

“The Valentine's Day buffet was absolutely incredible - I was looking for a place that was offering seafood and at least one potato dish, some of my wife's favourite foods, and Naupaka delivered! We arrived about half an hour before our reservation and were invited to check out the property. There were hula lessons happening, then a Polynesian dance group, and then live music. The variety of food was great! The poke was the best I've ever had, the steak, while all cooked medium or more, was tender and juicy, and there was enough variety that almost anybody would find something they'd fall in love with, and the dessert selection - which included fresh chocolate covered strawberries - was enough to tempt you away from filling up on just entrees. My wife, who hates coffee, wants to give a special shoutout to the mocha mousse, which she snuck out a second of to save for later!”

Bagels, Smoothies, and Coffee are all pretty flavorful and delicious!!

My wife and i loved it and would be going back there. Do not miss Rainbeau Jo if you are in Kauai. Highly Recommended!!”

“Here’s what to order: Banana late + parmesan bagel with cheddar bacon cream cheese + macadamia nut banana bread.

My preferred ratio of bagel to cream cheese is 1 to 1 and they give you plenty and then some. Tons of bagel flavors and cream cheeses to choose from. Wish we had more time to try the gorgeous cinnamon rolls and other sweets.”

“Our family very recently vacationed in Kauai to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. I had reached out to Ko Bakery several weeks before our trip to have a cake made to surprise my parents. We chose the Haupia with Lime buttercream and also got a dozen cupcakes (yellow cake with chocolate buttercream) for the kiddos. The cake and cupcakes were AMAZING!!!! Their customer service is incredible (especially since we were communicating through email) and pick up was a breeze. I highly recommend Ko Bakery!!!”

My wife and I would consider ourselves ginger beer Connoisseur’s we have tried so many and we were so disappointed we could not take any home with us back to the mainland. But that is only because this product is so good! My wife really liked the pineapple flavor, the watermelon and we both enjoyed the regular ginger beer! Best I have ever had! Please let us know when you are able to ship to Arizona! We will be your first customer. I also let our hotel know that they need to sign a contract with you all to support local business and they should only be making their Moscow mules with aloha ginger beer! They need to call it the aloha mule! Cheers!”

“Kawaii Kokoro Patisserie is absolutely amazing! Everything is delicious, but the cheesecakes—especially the Japanese cheesecake—are a standout. It’s so light and perfectly balanced, not too sweet. The profiteroles are incredible, and it’s impossible to pick a favorite flavor. Some of my other favorites include the lilikoi mousse cups, crème brûlée (both vanilla and Kona coffee—so good!), arare cookies, manju, and my newest obsession, the panna cotta! They also offer scones and a variety of cookies, all made with high-quality ingredients. We ordered ahead, and everything was beautifully packaged and ready when we arrived. The service was fantastic, and the owners and staff are genuinely kind and welcoming. If you’re looking for delicious, high-quality pastries and desserts, this place is a must-visit!”

What I got: Iced caramel latte for $5.49. They were out of macnut syrup which was the only thing on my mind during our 10 hour flight. Quite disappointing, but I was still understanding about it. After all, $5.49 for perfectly pulled, beautifully roasted shots of espresso? Kinda hard to be upset for too long.

Atmosphere: The earth tones in here are beautiful. Simple, not boring. Clean, decent amount of seats/tables.

Service: The girl taking orders was pretty standard, but the lady making the drinks was very bubbly and had a pretty smile!”

“This is a cozy, casual spot that clearly has a lot of locals coming in as well as visitors. Cash only, but very worth getting cash if you need to in order to go. I really liked the counters running throughout the place, which gives it a very communal feeling as you end up sitting next to other guests. The 2 servers for the whole restaurant were extremely efficient and took good care of everyone despite it being busy. The fried wontons for an appetizer were freshly fried and very tasty. I appreciated they actually arrived before dinner as an appetizer, which I've noticed restaurants lately struggle with. This was my first time trying saimin, but I'm a big ramen fan so it was right up my alley!The special saimin was very good; it was reminiscent of ramen for sure, but the ham and the wontons in it added an interesting twist. I wasn't a fan of the pork, but I don't usually like chasu in ramen either. My husband had the extra large size and it was a lot of food! The lilikoi chiffon pie was amazing! Super light and delicate in texture, both for the filling and the crust, and the lilikoi flavor was subtle but perfect. I would regularly go here if I lived on Kauai and if we weren't leaving tomorrow, I would certainly consider returning to eat here again during the same trip.”

“We've been here twice already while visiting Kauaʻi and there is more cream than flavoring in the malisades (mango, guava, passion fruit). I like the turnovers best as we've tried 3 flavors: blueberry, pineapple, and ube. And of the three savory options we tried: ham with cheese, sausage, and pepperoni with mozzarella, the last one was the tastiest.”

“Stopped into Costco last night upon landing in Kauai to stock up for the week. We were informed by the checker that the food court and bakery are closed for renovation. We were still able to stock up on treasures in other departments. I thought I would pass the information along so future travelers can plan accordingly.”

The best customer service and so professional our order got sent to Honolulu because of the new app update and without any question she went ahead and just made our order anyway because we would’ve lost the order and had to pay double. This is the kind of customer service that should make someone a manager someday. We understand it was our fault, but she understands. It was a small order and it would suck to have to repay for it again, so she without any question took care of it for us.”

“The decor was a little eerie, it looks like things haven't changed for 30 years, there was loud bassy music leaking from the bar next door, but somehow... the vibes were just right! The portions were large and the food was really yummy!
