“Carmen, our server was fabulous. Table was quiet, which was very nice and we felt our conversation wasn’t listened in on.I selected the skirt steak with the chimichurri. My fiancé had the sea bass on special. Antipasto to share as an appetizer. Bread was warm, butter whipped.Cocktails were good. Would absolutely come back again. The only weird thing, the chairs are leather. The seat I had was clearly stained, not sure what with, but it wasn’t wet or sticky. But the brown stain was a little off putting, but I totally forgot about it once I sat.“
“Pescatarian Italian fusion restaurant that checks every box: excellent food, ranging from well done standards, such as handmade pasta, through intricate dishes with creative flavors; thorough drink menu (enjoyed the Fuji Whiskey); ample portion sizes; pleasant atmosphere hitting the sweet spot between modern and classic, with comfortable seating; great music that was not too loud or intrusive, Spanish classical guitar playing instrumental pop covers (did they play that flamenco Final Fantasy VII Cover for our anniversary?); and well timed service. Hands down the best Kosher restaurant at which I've ever eaten.Vegetarian options: Pescatarian restaurant with a plethora of delicious vegetarian options.“
“UPDATE 2022 0704: We had a half baked Lou's Special with carryout, it was good as always. We went here for dinner. I had the deep dish sausage pizza with butter crust. There pizza was great. Cooked just right. There crust was crunchy. The sauce was excellent, tangy and sweet. There sausage had a great flavor. The people were nice, though they could have been a little more attentive. It was crazy busy Sunday night, but we only had contact with the waiter times.I would return again.Bicycling: The roads aren't that bad to get there. Also, I think a trail is going on along an old rail line nearby. There is no bike parking and no where to eat outside.“
“I had not been to this Olive Garden location in years and was pleasantly surprised at how updated and modern the decor was. Seating was fast and the service was great. I had a chicken dish that was nicely prepared, along with the famous, delicious breadsticks. I tried two soups as part of my meal, and those were the only disappointment. They seemed less flavorful and less full of the good meat/vegetable ingredients than before, as if they are being stretched by adding more broth to save money. All in all, though, it was a good experience and I would go back for sure.“
“Mario C is THE BEST waiter! Gave great suggestions that were spot on for Prosecco...2 different bottles and each was a perfect companion to our lunches. Also, good beer selection and cocktail. We had artichoke and sunchoke and meatball for shared appetizers, followed by each of us with a different pasta: caico buccatini, bolognese, gnocchi and spaghetti and one stuffed cabbage...all delicious! For dessert...chocolate sorbet, coconut cookie, almond Gelato and expresso martini.A delightful afternoon...not rushed...great food and beverages!Ask to be seated in Mario C's station!“
“This was the most flavorful meal I have had in years! We asked for house picks and shared amongst 3 of us. AMAZING. Service exceptional. The staff all helped each other with smiles- so nice to see. Chef Joe Flamm was present, pleasant and engaged with staff and customers. Treat yourself to something special.“
“This is my third visit to this upscale Italian restaurant in downtown. I love their service as the staffs notes down all our requests and suggest the best for us. The menu is vegetarian friendly or you can request to customise. The star dish was their ricotta dumplings. It’s a 10/10 for me. Every item that we ordered was delicious. We got a complimentary birthday cake as we’re celebrating a friend’s birthday. I would highly recommend this place in downtown for a good Italian dinner.Vegetarian options: Pastas, bread, potatoes, aranciniDietary restrictions: They are open to customisation of the dish according to your dietary preferencesParking: Parking is difficult to find as it’s in downtown but paid street parking is available.“
“Absolutely a 10/10. The rum punch shots as a welcome were great. The drinks were tasty but we certainly felt them! The salmon egg rolls were tasty! Nice and crunchy and the sauce was delicious. The spinach & artichoke dip with garlic bread? AMAZING. It was such a filling appetizer! Also, the alfredo with lamb chops were super tasty! Love how the chops still had a chew to them even when well done. The drunken pasta was SO satisfying and well seasoned. I’m so glad we got to try this spot. Been on our list for a minute. The pastas come hot and stay hot! They don’t get lukewarm even after a couple minutes like some other restaurants and that’s what we loved. Our waiter, Mandy H was impeccable. 10 stars for her too. To top if off we enjoyed the butter cake with vanilla ice cream and it was the perfect size for 2! Definitely enjoyed to the fullest and will be coming again even though I’m trying to unbig my back. Big shout out to whoever was on the music as well!“
“Excellent food and amazing customer service !Spacca Napoli never disappoints. The ? are amazing! Definitely recommend visiting. Reservations are recommended for an evening visit .They have daily specials and you can order online too for pick up.“
“What an amazing experience!Great ambience even though we didn’t get a table in the main dining area.. the nook that we got was cozy and warm. We ordered spicy vodka rigatoni and ricotta gnocchi. The vodka sauce was so flavorful that we wanted to lick the plate and the gnocchi was so heavenly soft that it melted in our mouths! We ended with cannoncini for dessert, which had a delicious cream filling and a crispy outside, with a top notch hot fudge. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would go there again as soon as we can!“
“The food, service, and ambiance are all incredible. We came here with low expectations as it's tucked between multiple shops and not in the most happening area but we were blown away. The music was so fun, the food was absolutely incredible, and the staff is so welcoming and kind. We will definitely be back. Don't sleep on this place!“
“Start by saying this place was SO GOOD! Our table had 3 different pasta dishes where each dish was perfect in their own way, perfectly pillowy gnocchi and al dente pasta with nice chew. The table favorite was the spaghetti with caviar. The fried calamari was also well cooked, not rubbery at all. The space was busy but not too loud and the service was attentive but not overbearing. Will definitely try to convince people to check this place out.“
“Delicious pasta and focaccia! I like a simple pasta shape of the day with arrabbiata sauce. It’s a small spot with four tables. If you’re going to walk-in, you just gotta roll the dice with a plan B in mind. It’s worth it. Sometimes you get lucky.“
“My friend and I ordered the Rigatoni alla Vodka and the Chicken Parm, and they were both great! The vodka pasta definitely deserves all the buzz surrounding it! The pasta was served in adorable china which insulated the heat so well that the pasta stayed hot through the entire meal. The restaurant also provided complimentary appetizers including, pizza & garlic bread, salami, and pickled vegetables. Our server was very attentive and all of our dishes came out quickly. Overall, we loved our dining experience and can’t wait to snag another reservation!“
“Received a recommendation from the staff at our hotel today April 20 2024. We were a 5 minute walk away as we were visiting from Charlotte NC. When we walked in the AROMA AT THE DOOR was INCREDIBLE! They were also very busy which was an indicator that the food at the establishment had to be amazing. We didn’t have a reservation but the bar was available. There were not enough seats but other guests were so nice to slide down and allow us to sit.The bartender Stephanie jumped right in with our drink and food orders. Our food arrived in about 10 minutes! This place is ran like a well oiled machine! The food service and atmosphere was outstanding. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo. I ordered the linguine ali’ aragosta. Both were amazing. The flavors and pasta were literally perfection. The manager was very kind as well. I love when business make an effort to accommodate their guests in the manner that we were accommodated 10/10 would definitely recommend. We had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday early here. We are both pasta lovers. So to have fresh authentic pasta was truly a treat!“
“my husband and i had stopped here a few times after eating at rootstock across the street for espresso, but we decided tonight to finally give the food a try! we are totally blown away. per usual, the service is 10/10. friendly, helpful, and all around a great environment. the food was stellar, and our drinks were unique and impressive. we will definitely be back!“
“Absolutely divine. A must when in west loop. The food is carefully and expertly crafted- Shout out to Chef Cristiano.Their wine selection is far beyond any selection I've seen just about anywhere else in the same area. So many yummy and authentic options.Service was top notch Ms Luana was an absolute pleasure. She is so kind and personable and really made us feel like family. Will absolutely be back to try another round of Chefs specials!“
“Eravamo in 4 a cena e siamo rimasti soddisfatti sia del cibo che del servizio . Il locale era pieno di gente ma la cameriera Maria ci ha serviti velocemente e in maniera simpatica e professionale. Le pizze che abbiamo mangiato sono state ottime. Ristorante consigliato.“
“I've been to Peanut Park twice! It was amazing both times. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. We had the focaccia (the ricotta reminds me of my trip to Italy *yum*), chicken parm, scallops, and more. My fave thing at Peanut Park is the tiramisu. The best!! We can't wait to go back.“
“We grabbed a spot at the bar for a drink, stayed for dinner and I’m so glad we did! Tammy was our wonderful bartender, the service was amazing, and the food was incredible! Caprese salad was HUGE, for our entrees we ordered the rigatoni danielo (delicious) and cavatelli bolognese (even more delicious), portions were big without sacrificing quality. We had the tiramisu and it did not disappoint, neither did the wine list or limoncello. Will definitely be coming back, totally recommend this place for a casual dinner or a fancy date night!“
“I've come here twice with a few people and each time we had a pleasant experience. I got an old fashion that was prepared nicely and was tasty. We've gotten the flatbread pizzas every time, and they are a great value for the amount of flavor. If you're looking for a nice restaurant with good views and food, this is a good option.“
“We were starving and followed our noses to the best food I’ve had this entire trip! It was like visiting family! The owner was cooking and sharing his love of his family recipe and life. The food was the best Italian beef I have ever had. My teen devoured her entire pesto chicken sandwich and I had a chicken Parmesan. We live in Indiana and took home a deconstructed Italian beef sandwich for my husband and I. It was so flavorful. The staff was kind and funny. The quality of meat was too notch!Skip Gino’s and come to the pier for Chef Ciccios Italian Beef!“
“This place was such a good experience. I took my parents there because I've heard that the steak here is delicious, turns out everything here is delicious. We ordered some drinks, the prices were very reasonable, the quality and taste of the food was amazing, NOT TO MENTION THE SERVICE, JUT TOP NOTCH. I'm not sure if management read these, but Julie, our server, was lovely. The vibes are classy but chill, and its right by the river walk which is a plus.“
“2nd time coming and was bit disappointed. There was few open tables in other parts of the restaurant for group of 4 and they sat us by the door. Every 2-3 mins the server or someone would come up to see if we wanted to order something and barely gave us time to look at the menu. Even during dinner we felt rushed asking us if we want everything then giving us the check before asking if we wanted something else. Overall the food was good but service was very rushed.“
“What a cute little gem in this city. The atmosphere was cozy but lively. I loved the lighting and musical soundtrack. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Both the host and waitress were pleasant and provided just the right amount of check-ins. Now on to the food. Everything we ate was delicious. From the fresh bread that they poured melted garlic butter onto table side to the yummy brussel sprouts. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente with very flavorful sauces. I'm sad that I was only able to eat there once as I only had. 4 day trip in Chicago, but I will definitely return.“
“My boyfriend and I came in for a last minute dinner without a reservation and the hostess was able to seat us on the patio which we appreciated. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the focaccia, and they were both delicious! The cacio e Pepe was a little smaller than what you would receive at other restaurants, but it was just enough for one person, but I would keep that in mind if looking to share dishes.“
“I have been coming here for over 30 years ! Love this place ! My mouth waters just looking at the pictures on their menu! It’s been a while and I didn’t realize they now take reservations! My husband and I are long over due for a date night and I think I know what I’m asking for on our ten year anniversary! Lol yum! Can’t wait to visit again!“
“First time trying this restaurant that I found by doing some online research. We were blown away. Sat at the bar with Eric who made the entire experience so enjoyable. His knowledge of the menu and cocktails were almost as impressive as his welcoming personality. The food was equally impressive. Prepared perfectly and served timely. We will definitely be back!“
“We had a great experience at Ricardo Enoteca! As soon as we sat down they got us our espresso martinis and bread! We started with the veal ricotta meatballs which were phenomenal. For our entrees we got the Bucatini alla carbonara and the Braciola di Maiale all’s Emiliana (breaded pork with mozzarella and prosciutto). These were sooo delicious! Talking with a few of the other guests around us, you cannot go wrong with choice in food! Definitely recommend!“
“Excellent restaurant with wonderful food! We also had a great server. We are diners and like to take our time enjoying our wine and each course. Her timing allowed us to do just that. It's also not too terribly far from the United Center, which makes it convenient if you're planning to attend an event.“
“Cute restaurant for dinner. The pasta I had was cooked perfectly, and was actually good. The spritz I tried was also pretty nice, well balanced. Service was alright, food took a while to arrive. It was also hard to flag down our waiter. Overall we still enjoyed our meal.“
“From the moment we stepped into Munno Pizzeria and Bistro, we were greeted with a warmth that only foreshadowed the delightful evening ahead. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it an ideal setting for any occasion. Each dish we ordered was a testament to the chef’s mastery over Italian cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a modern twist that left us savoring every bite. The pizza, with its perfectly charred crust and innovative toppings, was a highlight, while the pasta dishes were reminiscent of a culinary journey through Italy. What truly sets Munno apart, however, is the impeccable service. The staff’s attention to detail and genuine care for the dining experience made us feel truly special. Our dinner at Munno Pizzeria and Bistro wasn’t just a meal; it was a memorable dining experience that we’re already looking forward to repeating. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, missing out on this Michelin-starred gem would be a mistake. Bravo to the Munno team for exceeding our expectations!“
“We came here for one big night on town during our trip to Chicago. The reviews suggested this as one of the best restaurants in the city. The food agreed with that assessment. Started off waiting for reserved table to become available and then, once seated, just plain waiting! Got a nice bottle of Cab and or server, Jaclyn H, brought us bread. There was no oil and butter on the table so we had to ask for that and continued to wait. There was a big disconnect between our server and the runners, who were not running! Salad came shortly thereafter and we had to wait for silverware. This is a really nice restaurant that was punting on the simplest of things. It was frustrating. My dinner, the Polo Milanese was fantastic, as was her Paccheri alla Vodka. Dessert was yummy as well. Food was the savior on this evening, because I was unimpressed with a restaurant that has this reputation. Perhaps we try again, but with 5000 restaurants in Chicago, I'm not certain.“
“Highly recommend this quaint little place tucked away from the main thoroughfares. Attention to detail was amazing, great service and last but not least awesome food! Great selection! We had garlic bread (plain and cheesy), Spaghetti Bolognese, Pollo par parmigiana, and ItalianSub.“
“I've been to Tortello a few times over the years and I'm never disappointed with the dishes I get. We were celebrating a birthday because we love this place so much and knew we were in for a treat. Both of the pastas we got were excellent, especially the one with hazelnuts, and we had the focaccia which was delightful and came out warm, especially good on a chilly spring day.I really want to try some of the dessert offerings but had eaten so much that I'll have to come back and give them a shot next time.Vegetarian options: If you're unfamiliar with some of the ingredients used in the dishes, the staff is happy to help and inform you about which options are vegetarian. There were at least a handful to choose from.“
“Wow! Great new estaurant by the owner of Due Lire! It's a beautiful space with be a great menu and the best service! First time here, super busy, inside and out, on a Saturday night. *Update: After a year of coming here, really can't say enough about how delicious the food is and how inviting the experience is. The tuna tartare and all of the pastas are highly recommended.“
“My husband and I came here for lunch and enjoyed the excellent service and food. The focaccia bread and olive oil with garlic and hummus was to die for and we were getting full before our meal came. We ordered mussels, salad, pasta and seafood risotto. Of course we had to take half of entrees home since we enjoyed the focaccia bread! I have been here before with my friends and ate outside on a Monday night over the summer and also had an excellent meal. We will definitely come back.“
“I’ve been to topo gigio multiple times and i’ve enjoyed the food every time. I would not say it’s the most amazing italian food i’ve ever had but it is pretty good. The last two times i’ve been the service has been pretty sub par. They really pack people into this place, each table is like 5 inches from the table next to you. It is not a quiet nice intimate place for a date night if that is what you are looking for. Now for the service, our server seemed unconcerned about us and did not say much more than 2 words to us in the few times he checked on us. He may have not want to check on us often because we were stuck in the tiniest corner of the restaurant right up against the bar where he could barely squeeze in to check on us. However, i don’t think they will change how they arrange their tables so just keep that in mind before coming here maybe that’s the vibe you like!“
“Gene and Georgetti's is a great place for a date night, birthday or really any celebration! The food is fantastic and the service is too. The pastas were all made in house and you can tell. The steaks are great, they have a nice crust and cooked to perfection. I also love the cocktails, the drinks I had were well made and very good. The atmosphere is also very cool and classic chicago. Overall we enjoyed every moment!“
“I went to Olio e Più for my first time last night and I really enjoyed it! To start, I really liked the vibe - my boyfriend and I went around 630pm so given the sun was going down, it felt really relaxed and cozy. For my drink, I ordered the White Plains - super refreshing and tasty. My boyfriend got the Old Fashioned which he said was one of the best he's had in Chicago (and he always orders an Old Fashioned). To eat, I ordered the Gnocchi Pesto e Pistacchio and boy, was it good. I will say, our service was some of the best we've had in a long time as well. We had a really nice experience and meal and can't wait to come back again! Thank you to the Olio e Più team for a wonderful Friday date night!“
“I absolutely love everything about La Scarola except the limitations with getting in. Simply put, reservations must be placed by phone during restaurant hours. Showing up without run is likely to result in an hour plus wait or being turned around. If you overcome this hurdle, you'll understand why it's a staple that keeps patrons returning whenever they can. I've never ordered an item that I didn't enjoy and I dream about their vodka sauce and grilled octopus. Add to that pricing is reasonable and they're usually a handful of featured items to keep things interesting. In terms of ambiance, the walls are filled with photos to celebrity and notable diners. Thank me later.“
“Absolutely most incredible Italian i've had in a long time. Seafood Risotto was amazing, beef carpaccio and tuna tare tare was fantastic, lobster ravioli was stunning, everything was authentic, restaurant was very intimate great vibes. The bread before the meal was so good we ate 3 baskets. I truly cannot speak enough great words about this place. The tiramisu to finish it off... ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!“
“The Italian beef was good and prepared as requested. I was good with the regular portion which I thought was generous. I wouldn’t dip it because I think it would make it heavy on the stomach.Prices were reasonable compared to near by restaurants.Staff were helpful with providing suggestions.“
“A few years have passed since I visited Tuscany on Taylor. It’s the same busy place I remember. The crowded space cozily hosts groups happily chatting away while enjoying their drinks and food. You almost feel like you’re in a trattoria in Italy. The wait staff is incredibly attentive and professional! The garlic, olive oil, and parmesan paste that is mashed tableside for dipping your bread is absolutely spectacular. Everything we ate was delicious, minus the olives on the charcuterie board, which lacked any flavor and were soft. That was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, Tuscany is a gem, which explains why it’s still busy after all these years in business!“
“My guest and I thoroughly enjoyed our time this evening. Our food was wonderful, the ambiance was fun and lively. Our server "AMY" was a total professional .... Many thanks and look forward to seeing you soon.Parking: Hey, It's Chicago....“
“Everyone back East said I had to try this pizza. I am not really a pizza fanatic, but holy smokes, this is really really good pizza. I had the personal pepperoni with extra cheese and fresh garlic. It was amazing. They delivered to my hotel (Palmer House), and the delivery was fast for a busy night and the delivery driver was really nice. I totally recommend the pizza and service.“
“We were very pleased we chose this place right down the street from our hotel. The food was excellent, and the service was fast. I especially recommend the octopus and cannellini small plate - absolutely divine. The prices were also great. I would have expected to pay at least 50% more for a meal of this quality in the Chicago area.“
“Buzzy, small restaurant with a really nice atmosphere. Casually confident service, a lovely wine list, and a short but well thought out menu of takes on Piemontese regional classics. Feels more like eating in Italy than Italian food in the US for sure. The room is quite dark and it gets quite loud when full, but it just means the place feels alive. Nicely thought out cocktails to start.“
“I was recommended to this place, and after seeing the reviews, I decided to try it out for myself. This was my first time here. I was working at Willis Tower today, and this place is just a few minutes' walk from the building. I like the atmosphere when you walk into the place. I like the décor and the colorful feel to the room. Being from Chicago I decided to try the italian beef. You have to order your french fries separate with your order. I would have to say it was a huge beef. I ordered the combo italian beef and a side of french fries. The french fries order was the size of a family order. I have to say. I really enjoyed the italian beef and I really like the fries also. They had some really good looking deep dish, chicago pizzas. The menu is packed with options. I will be returning to try more. I definitely recommend this place as long as there is not a portillo's nearby. Anyone who has read my reviews on food in chicago, portillo's is my go-to spot.“
“Everything about our experience was five stars. First off the ambiance was so nice, stylish but comfortable and cozy. My four year old spilled milk all over him, the booth and the floor. The staff, Claudia (server), Andres and Kristine (host) were so unbelievably kind, attentive and responsive I don't think I have ever experienced that before. Kristine was so helpful and concerned she even offered me a clean towel to help dry him off in the restroom. I haven't even mentioned the food! Everything we ordered was delicious. We had an assortment of small plates (focaccia, Brussel sprouts, calamari, farro) as well as pasta and the burger was enjoyed by all. We would definitely be regulars if we were local.“
