“We had a lovely evening at Foxy last evening from the moment we were greeted to when we left. We sat at the bar where Enzo made sure we were comfortable and well informed of the items on the menu as well as the freshness of the products sources locally.
He made very well informed wine suggestions to maximise the enjoyment of our meal. The beef tartare is the best, we order this regularly in others restaurants, that we have had. The caveleti with clams was a dish to crave enough to be back for another visit.

Now i wish i could remember the name of the book Enzo recommended…”

“Stopped by for a late lunch last Saturday and ended up completely floored by the duck in a can, which the server actually cracked open tableside and it smelled incredible. The dining room has this cozy, wood paneled energy that photographs beautifully in the afternoon light coming through the front windows, so I couldn't help snapping a few shots before digging in. Staff were friendly and didn't rush us even though we lingered for almost two hours chatting and taking pictures of the plates. Portions are huge, the foie gras poutine is genuinely worth the hype, and I'm already planning a return trip with a wider lens.”

“I solo travel at least once a year and decided to come to Montreal for the first time over my birthday weekend. My first meal/birthday dinner was at Le Vin Papillon and I can’t express what a wonderful experience I had. The mushrooms might be the most incredible dish I’ve ever tasted (I will likely dream about them) and the ham was equally delightful. I sipped on the Martinez Rose (delicious but very strong- do not order if you’re a lightweight). 😂. The staff surprised me with a carrot cake ice cream sandwich and while I don’t typically enjoy carrot cake…this was next level.

More importantly, the staff was superb. They were so welcoming and attentive. I’d love to give a special shout out to Flo- thank you for your kindness and for making my birthday dinner so special.

“I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it’s possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher’s cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.”

“I had a lovely solo dinner at Limbo. The staff were fantastic from start to finish, taking the time to patiently walk me through the menu and share thoughtful recommendations.

The pork with raw shrimp was easily the star dish, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The other two plates I tried were pleasant enough, though they didn't quite leave the same impression.

Overall, wonderful hospitality and a great, welcoming atmosphere for dining solo. They offer half sizes for solo diners so you can pick a few plates to try.

The menu changes daily so I'd be interested in coming back at another time where it's more meat or seafood forward. I'm not a veggie person, so others who are will undoubtedly enjoy the food more than I did.”

“We were so excited about our return to the restaurant after having experienced its early days in its previous location. We were not disappointed with the dining in this location. It's a marvel to behold and the 10 course tasting menu was superb. The staff were all attentive and welcoming with sharing their knowledge and experience. Such a delight. For us, we would have done well with only 1 dessert course as it was difficult to finish both and the amount of bread for that course was a bit overwhelming. Everything was tasty, just a bit too much for those courses. As always, we are anxious to share our experience with anyone we know who is travelling to Montreal. Merci😊”

The service is fast and friendly, even during busy hours, and the staff always greet you with a smile. The restaurant is clean and well-kept, making it a comfortable place to relax or catch up with friends. Whether I’m stopping by for a morning boost or a midday snack, Tim Hortons never disappoints!”

The food is fast food grade so nothing special but for fast food it is good. The service is usually a bit slow. Not McDonalds slow where you have to wait 25 minutes for a Big Mac, but still it take a while every time. About 5 to 10 mins in general. Might be because I go late at night, not sure. Never had bad food or incomplete orders there which is very good in today's market.”

“Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. So the day was pretty perfect.🖤”

We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.”

J’ai commander le drink Preach’s peach pour sa composition et le magnifique verre annoncé sur le menu (flamingo). Malheureusement, le drink n’a pas été servi dans le verre tant attendu. Dans ce genre d’endroit, la présentation fait toute la différence pour justifier un cocktail à 25$. J’aurais apprécier qu’on me renseigne que le verre n’était pas disponible ce soir-là. J’aurais probablement opter vers un autre cocktail à un prix plus modeste. Ceci dit, le goût était bon. Nous ne recommandons pas les spritz sans alcool qui sont à notre goût fade et simplement amer. Un ajout de sirop simple pourrait probablement balancer l’amerture de ce drink qui est normalement délicieux avec du mousseux, bien entendu. Pour terminer, le cocktail bleu dont je ne me souvient plus le nom était le highlight de la soirée. Je retournerais au MilkyWay pour retenter l’expérience :) Au plaisir,”

The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.”

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!”
