“I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it’s possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher’s cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.”

“We had a wonderful experience on July 8th, 2026, with everyone we interacted with at the hotel.
We'd had an issue with our Airbnb check-in and needed a last-minute hotel around 10:30 PM. When we called, we were starving, traveling from out of town, and the receptionist was incredibly helpful. We assumed food wouldn't be available by the time we arrived, but she took the time to read us the menu over the phone and place our order before we got there — so it was hot and ready the moment we checked into our room. It had been a while since I'd seen customer service that good! - I wish we had caught her name.

The next day at the hotel's restaurant, Maggie Oakes, our server Tracey was phenomenal — compassionate and funny. She was incredibly gracious and turned a stressful workday into a much more relaxed one.

If these two women are on shift, you won't find a better experience. We were thoroughly impressed and felt extremely well taken care of. Great job, ladies!”

The flavors are truly sublime. All dressed is my absolute favorite. When I order, I stock up on several dozen and freeze them for a rainy day. The food is fast food grade so nothing special but for fast food it is good. The service is usually a bit slow. Not McDonalds slow where you have to wait 25 minutes for a Big Mac, but still it take a while every time. About 5 to 10 mins in general. Might be because I go late at night, not sure. Never had bad food or incomplete orders there which is very good in today's market.”

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.”

J’ai commander le drink Preach’s peach pour sa composition et le magnifique verre annoncé sur le menu (flamingo). Malheureusement, le drink n’a pas été servi dans le verre tant attendu. Dans ce genre d’endroit, la présentation fait toute la différence pour justifier un cocktail à 25$. J’aurais apprécier qu’on me renseigne que le verre n’était pas disponible ce soir-là. J’aurais probablement opter vers un autre cocktail à un prix plus modeste. Ceci dit, le goût était bon. Nous ne recommandons pas les spritz sans alcool qui sont à notre goût fade et simplement amer. Un ajout de sirop simple pourrait probablement balancer l’amerture de ce drink qui est normalement délicieux avec du mousseux, bien entendu. Pour terminer, le cocktail bleu dont je ne me souvient plus le nom était le highlight de la soirée. Je retournerais au MilkyWay pour retenter l’expérience :) Au plaisir,”

“Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. “We weren't so happy with the free breakfast provided at the hotel where we stayed, so on our second day in Montreal we went to Plougastel instead. We kept going back every morning until the day we left! We tried brioche and a number of different croissants. Everything we ate was wonderfully fresh and tasty. The almond croissant was just delicious, with the perfect level of sweetness. They tend to be too sweet in other places, at least in the US, for my taste. The brioche was so good that I had to have two each time. The service was very friendly. Although the bakery opens at 7.30am, the owner told us that we could come in before then and the door would be open. True to his word, when we arrived at 07:00 the next morning, the door was open. This was very useful when we had an early morning trip to Quebec City. We tried both lattes and espressos, and they were both really good. At least three times, we happened to walk in just as something hot was coming out of the oven. Nothing like a still warm brioche. On our last breakfast in Montreal, we also bought a baguette 'for the road'. Along with some cheese, it made for a simple yet tasty lunch at YUL airport before our flight. Prices are very reasonable. Great place! Highly recommended!”

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!”

“I gave them 1 star cause my wife did a order on Uber. We waited 45min for this order.when it finally came all there was in the bag was spaghetti and a peach iced tea.we did a order of 60$ 2 sandwiches a peach iced tea and spaghetti for my kid. When we checked to see we can do a reorder they were closed. Very bad service not happy or impressed.
