“One of the best meals we had in Montreal, and we particularly enjoyed the Bluefin Tartare, Maitake, and Kohlrabi. The sauce used for the Kohlrabi had a nice spicy punch which was really nice. The Grassfed Angus Beef was juicy and tender too!

Wanted to thank our server — Bruno, for being so welcoming and helpful! He was also very knowledgeable in explaining the menu and recommending the wines to pair with our food.”

“Expectations were extremely high given all the recent accolades and I have to say I was ready to be disappointed. Marco, Jessica, Vanya, and their wonderful team blew my expectations out of the water.

Dishes like the foie cookies with habanada jelly, and the conserve leeks with fermented chips and mussel mayo are nostalgic in flavour, but creative and fun in their execution.

Their wine list is nothing short of impressive, with many references you’d have a hard time finding outside of a passionate collectors personal cave. Prices are also very reasonable by the glass relative to most wine bars around.

Atmosphere is what you hope for with Montreal dining; far from pretentious but very attentive and warm.

We left having gone through half the menu, and I did not feel heavy or overly full at all.

“I've been wanting to experience Joe beef for a very long time. As you walk in, it felt very cozy and welcoming, as we were greeted by this very friendly hostess. The staff were efficient, and our waiter was great as well. He explained the menu in detail. We wanted to share some of the dishes as I knew it would be way too much food, and also because we've also ordered some appetizers. We took home so much food home, the portions for the shareable dishes were very generous. The wait for the food was on the longer side, as well as for the cocktails. Overall, the food was delicious, but my expectations were high, and I think I've expected a tad more, in some of the dishes.”

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.”

“My brother brought them back to the USA for us to experience the ultimate culinary delight. Now I’m on a mission to find something that comes close to these incredible flavors. The flavors are truly sublime. All dressed is my absolute favorite. When I order, I stock up on several dozen and freeze them for a rainy day. From there, I refrigerate them until toasted to perfection. Yum!! They are a game-changer!!”

Chicken fingers were good, especially with the honey mustard sauce. Onion rings were ok, a bit salty and not fried the best. Chubby burger was ok as well, more bun than chicken. Atmosphere is laid back, not rowdy like the fast food joint across it.”

The service is very nicely done, they give out the informations you need and make sure when you're ready or not. “Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. So the day was pretty perfect.🖤”

“Great spot! We came here on a Thursday night. It was pleasantly busy.
The menu is written on a chalkboard. We decided to share the plates.
Everything was delicious and original.
We ordered six oysters. I could have had twelve to myself. Both the oysters and the toppings were amazing.
We enjoyed the vegetarian eggplant dish and the crevettes de Matane as appetizers.
For the mains we had the mushroom raviolis (vegetarian) and the scallops. Out of this world.
They make their own bread and they serve it an amazing salted butter.
They even have each of us a loaf of bread to take home.
The spicy margarita was the best we have ever tasted. We taste them everywhere we go. The photo is of the Aperol Spritz which was very good.
For dessert we had their version of doughnuts with a delicious dipping sauce. Highly recommended.
The Waitress was exceptional. Unfortunately I did not catch her name.
Good value for the price.
Easy street parking.

“My wife and I had a fantastic evening here on Friday. It has a warm atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we would have normally. The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.”

“Very good food. We had Kebap Mixed plate, with chicken and lamb kebap and antep kebap. 3 people shared it, with another order of antep kebap, it was sufficient for us. Salad and bulgur and fries are served on the side. Soups were delicious. We had kelle paca soup. I will try the other types of soups (lentil) also on my next visit. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all people who like kebap, pide (vegetarian options available), turkish soups with both vegetarian and meat options. Very good taste, satisfaction guaranteed.”

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!”

The Spanish vibe takes you right in the streets of St Sebastian’s tapas spots. It is worth a visit if you want to be pampered by the chef who is sophisticated yet humble. I would say try everything on the menu because it changes regularly. Each visit, I want to say it’s an absolute artistic experience etc but really, it is a party in my mouth. I walk out inspired to cook and excited to be back.”

“Surprisingly walked past this 100% plant based restaurant in Montreal and knew we had to try it!

Flavourful, delicious, and lots of great options - we tried the Kao Kra Pao (with the powders they provided it was spicy and great flavour) and the chai-yo sandwich 93 which was also great! Thai iced tea to go with our meals.

We would’ve come back again if it wasn’t our last day in Montreal. Will be back for sure!”
