I like the several levels of sitting areas and the general ambience. the menu was easy to understand and I thought that while smaller than other shops, they had a solid selection. I got the taro coconut milk tea with the cheese cream topping and it was amazing! the cup wasn't filled with ice either and you got a lot of drink for the price. Will definitely go back :)

“We made reservations well in advance for Christmas Eve dinner at The Eldridge. Our service was so terrible and our waitress was so rude, we left after we finally got our incorrect drink order. We sat for an unreasonably long time before we were even greeted. After the waitress was openly hostile to us, we left money on the table for the incorrect drinks and left before we even ordered dinner. We walked 10 steps over to 715 and were greeted warmly and seated immediately at the bar. The service was top notch and the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was lively, fun and bustling. If you want great service, excellent food and great atmosphere, just go next door to 715. They saved our Christmas Eve date night, and we didn’t even have reservations! Thank you 715!!”

“Went to celebrate my husbands birthday Wednesday night, my server, Megan, was immaculate. She had a big group seated by us but continued to provide excellent service to us as-well as the other tables around us. Our steaks were excellent, and the manager even comes to check up on you. Couldn’t say better things about Jason, Megan, and my entire experience! Definitely will be celebrating more occasions here!”

“This is a fine restaurant with one exception. We felt very rushed throughout the meal. Menus were handed to us before we even sat down and it went downhill. On at least three occasions I had to speak up and ask the servers to slow down and stop being so attentive so we could enjoy out meal and conversation. Every time I started a conversation with my son. whom we had not seen in awhile, someone interrupted with some trivial question. I am used to dining where the servers are essentially unobtrusive until needed. I am prepared to give this restaurant a try again because I did like the food. However, I am taking another couple out to clebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and I am going to be very up front about the service expected before we sit down. I get that "turn" is the name of the game but this isn't a fast food joint. If they expect to have repeat business with the older and well-heeled crowd they need to be a little more attentive to the needs of their customers.”

“We were in town for a college tour at KU. I booked this hotel due to its proximity to campus. Very spacious room, lovely amenities, restaurant / bar was good. What sets this hotel apart is the wonderful staff. My car battery was dead the morning of check out and 3 staff jumped into action and got my car started right away. They were very kind and helpful, and really went above and beyond. Thanks for an awesome stay!”

“I have purchased a couple of “KEY LIME PIES” (in the past) that were outta this world delicious, from the key lime filling to the best graham cracker crust ever. I heard about their Friday night Fried Chicken so we brought some friends and tried it out. Well I thought nothing could get better than the pies but….. This fried chicken is fall off the bone tenderest tastiest chicken I’ve had and so is the mac and cheese. Everything we put in our mouth from this meal was fresh, tasty, hot and delicious. It’s a quant, little diner with fast friendly service. The Expresso Martini is one of the best Ive had too…. I highly recommend and we’ll be back again soon!!!”

“After struggling a few weeks to find a party room that fit in my budget and had availability to host my mom’s small retirement party I finally landed on Murf’s. I, personally, had never been there before but had heard a few good things- so I decided to book with them. Our whole experience was great!! Lauren was our server and she was extremely friendly and gave us excellent service. She interacted with the few kids that were there which was so nice to see. The room was also free- which was a godsend!! Food was good, I got the chicken tenders and ate some fried mushrooms. Room size was good, we had about 25 people and there was plenty of space for more. All around- a great place to have a gathering. I will definitely be back and will definitely have other parties here.”

These less than five star reviews are picky people playin’ games because it’s unbelievable how crispy the breading, how juicy the chicken, and how gooey the sauce.

It’s worth paying more than usual for lunch, plus it’s hard to eat all of even the smallest order of chicken.

Not a lot of room inside the place but benches outside, bus stops along the road, and curbs everywhere to sit down and devour. You won’t want spectators, but neither would you notice them once you open the box.

Still intimate, but more upscale than a regular bar. The layout is nice and clean. The weather was gorgeous and we ate outside. I had a fantastic smoothie and latte. In the time it took us to finish our meal, I watched as the waitstaff handed out no less than eight free to-go breakfasts and coffees to what appeared to be people without housing. From the interactions I witnessed, it was clear that these were regular customers, and the waitstaff treated them with such dignity - just like any other customer. “I do like most things from hog wild but I have to mention this. Sour cream does **not** get baked. When heated, it curdles into hard, dry crumbles, and that’s not how anyone wants their sour cream. It needs to be packaged separately or put on top of the potato, not underneath cheese and everything else. It’s gross and it ruins an otherwise perfectly fine potato. That just isn’t how dairy should be prepared for safe consumption. Really hope you guys take this as a serious request because this is not the first potato I’ve got like this and it’s really disgusting.”

“My favorite pizza! I love the slight spice a basic pepperoni pizza brings. The place is small with not that much seating and very chilly. Sometimes they’ll be out of aguas frescas (probably because they’re so good). Service has always been very helpful and fast.”

“EDIT TO ADD: Rick, the general manager contacted me same day and was amazing! Come to find out, Noah was brand new that day so, I understand the issue with the service. Waiting tables is hard work anyway and it’s especially hard when it’s you first day and you don’t know the policy. Rick also reimbursed my meal and apologized. In short, They were quick to reach out and rectify the problem, which I am very grateful for and impressed. My faith in HuHot is restored and I will remain a faithful patron! Normally we have a very good experience, today… not so much! Had the WORST server I think I’ve ever had “Noah B”, or at least in the bottom 3. He did not visit our table 1 time until he brought the check, no refills. Then, I asked for a box. . . I had been through the line 1 time, had eaten about 5 bites when my stomach revolted (not because the food wasn’t good, I have a stomach issue that causes me to occasionally not be able to eat, unfortunately I don’t know it’s going to happen until I try to eat) I explained this to the server and he still would not let me have a box. So 1 whole meal wasted. It took him 8 minutes to make change for our bill, and then he shorted us $3. The cook was very polite and cooked our meal well. I don’t know if or when we will return to the Lawrence, KS HuHot, but it wont be anytime soon. Do better!”

I placed an order around 6:40pm after a 12hr work shift and my fiance was held up at work for way longer than expected.

I got a call from Tryakki around 8:21pm as a check in.
I was hungry exhausted and a little bummed out thinking about having cold food.

My fiance made it there before I did, grabbed my food, met me in the Ace parking lot, gave me the bag and said;

" They made it fresh since it's been over an hour"

They're hot, they're fresh and have a nice almost caramelized crispyness to the outside that I happen to enjoy.
