“We made reservations well in advance for Christmas Eve dinner at The Eldridge. Our service was so terrible and our waitress was so rude, we left after we finally got our incorrect drink order. We sat for an unreasonably long time before we were even greeted. After the waitress was openly hostile to us, we left money on the table for the incorrect drinks and left before we even ordered dinner. We walked 10 steps over to 715 and were greeted warmly and seated immediately at the bar. The service was top notch and the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was lively, fun and bustling. If you want great service, excellent food and great atmosphere, just go next door to 715. They saved our Christmas Eve date night, and we didn’t even have reservations! Thank you 715!!”

“Went to celebrate my husbands birthday Wednesday night, my server, Megan, was immaculate. She had a big group seated by us but continued to provide excellent service to us as-well as the other tables around us. Our steaks were excellent, and the manager even comes to check up on you. Couldn’t say better things about Jason, Megan, and my entire experience! Definitely will be celebrating more occasions here!”

“This is a fine restaurant with one exception. We felt very rushed throughout the meal. Menus were handed to us before we even sat down and it went downhill. On at least three occasions I had to speak up and ask the servers to slow down and stop being so attentive so we could enjoy out meal and conversation. Every time I started a conversation with my son. whom we had not seen in awhile, someone interrupted with some trivial question. I am used to dining where the servers are essentially unobtrusive until needed. I am prepared to give this restaurant a try again because I did like the food. However, I am taking another couple out to clebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and I am going to be very up front about the service expected before we sit down. I get that "turn" is the name of the game but this isn't a fast food joint. If they expect to have repeat business with the older and well-heeled crowd they need to be a little more attentive to the needs of their customers.”

“I am so disappointed in Hyvee Bakery. I’ve been ordering my son and daughter’s birthday cakes there for many years and the cakes have always been perfect! Not this year. My daughter’s cake was sloppilu made and lopsided. What happened to Hy-Vee’s impeccable cakes? 😞 I still recommend Hy-Vee but the bakery manager needs to tighten things up.”

“Leroys is the place to be in Lawrence if you have a big group! We just had a Delta Upsilon Fraternity Alumni party there and it more than accommodated what we needed. The location is great, awesome TVs everywhere, cold drinks and great service! The Chiefs won! This is a fantastic venue and great for Lawrence!”

“After a long day at work, I decided to order online from Petra2Go and pick it up on the way home. The entrance to the parking lot was blocked on Wakarusa from both ends, so I sadly decided to call and try to cancel my order. A very nice man answered, heard the problem, and asked me where I was at. He came and delivered my food to me! Truly above and beyond customer service, and excellent gyros, fries, and Greek salad. I’ll be coming back for sure, and can’t wait to try more of their delicious and fresh food!”

“Came up here after a 9+ drive from Colorado since Runza is a South Dakota staple. The staff were so wonderful even with us showing up before they close the dining room and were so friendly. I have never tried anything here that doesn’t taste good, everything is so delicious, flaky and fresh! They also are always coming out with new pastries, you can never go wrong with anything here. The cakes are also so fluffy and light. My parents don’t love eating cake but they are obsessed with the cake from Tous Les Jours. Must go!!”

“I had the daily special beef lemongrass noodle soup, and it was the best noodle dish I’ve had in a very long time! Noodles was soft and chewy. The meat was tender. The greens was crunchy and not overcooked and soggy! The broth was perfect! Had the right amount of kick to it. I can’t wait to come back.”

I heard about their Friday night Fried Chicken so we brought some friends and tried it out. Well I thought nothing could get better than the pies but….. This fried chicken is fall off the bone tenderest tastiest chicken I’ve had and so is the mac and cheese. Everything we put in our mouth from this meal was fresh, tasty, hot and delicious. It’s a quant, little diner with fast friendly service. The Expresso Martini is one of the best Ive had too…. I highly recommend and we’ll be back again soon!!!”

“After struggling a few weeks to find a party room that fit in my budget and had availability to host my mom’s small retirement party I finally landed on Murf’s. I, personally, had never been there before but had heard a few good things- so I decided to book with them. Our whole experience was great!! Lauren was our server and she was extremely friendly and gave us excellent service. She interacted with the few kids that were there which was so nice to see. The room was also free- which was a godsend!! Food was good, I got the chicken tenders and ate some fried mushrooms. Room size was good, we had about 25 people and there was plenty of space for more. All around- a great place to have a gathering. I will definitely be back and will definitely have other parties here.”

They will go above and beyond for you prior and on your day. I have nothing but wonderful and raving things to say about the staff at Taco Zone. It’s the talk of our friend group and work on how amazing the food was, which is always good to hear since wedding food is known for being average… but they were far from average. If you are thinking of booking them for your next event, take this as a sign to do it! Thank you again, we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to serve our favorite people but TACO ZONE!”

“Had a great experience before leaving Lawrence this morning. The cafe we were planning on going to for breakfast was closed, so we went a couple storefronts down to Global Cafe. The weather was gorgeous and we ate outside. I had a fantastic smoothie and latte. In the time it took us to finish our meal, I watched as the waitstaff handed out no less than eight free to-go breakfasts and coffees to what appeared to be people without housing. From the interactions I witnessed, it was clear that these were regular customers, and the waitstaff treated them with such dignity - just like any other customer. The salsa was okay but wasn't anything special. Our beverages and entrées were as ordered. Our favorite dishes were the mushroom quesadilla and fajita veggie quesadilla. The gold margaritas beat out the regular ones, and were decently priced. We had a hard time hearing each other over the din of other patrons. Will try again sometime.”

“I do like most things from hog wild but I have to mention this. Sour cream does **not** get baked. When heated, it curdles into hard, dry crumbles, and that’s not how anyone wants their sour cream. It needs to be packaged separately or put on top of the potato, not underneath cheese and everything else. It’s gross and it ruins an otherwise perfectly fine potato. That just isn’t how dairy should be prepared for safe consumption. Really hope you guys take this as a serious request because this is not the first potato I’ve got like this and it’s really disgusting.”

“Hands down the best Asian American food I've had since moving to Lawrence. Fried rice was fresh and had that wok hei flavor you'd want in rice. The sesame chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and delicious! Not too much sauce, and not too sweet either. And the egg roll was phenomenal. The most surprising part was the portion which is almost as much as what my wife and I would eat together. I will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.”

“On Saturday, August 23rd, we had great pizza. Three mini pizza's: Hawaiian; tostada; and my favorite, Papa Minsky. Added a side salad and mushrooms for appetizers.
Service was prompt and friendly. All the food was excellent. The toppings on the minis had great texture and taste. Salad was crispy and fresh with excellent ranch dressing. Mushrooms were breaded perfectly. My girlfriend has been a customer of the original Minsky's in Kansas City since she was a child. The Lawrence location, at 934 Massachusetts street, equals the quality of the original. Highly recommend.”

Drive through can be slow depending on the time of day, what has been ordered before you, how many people are working and the experience of those working. I recommend you pay in cash because they will shove the card reader at you expecting a tip.”

“EDIT TO ADD: Rick, the general manager contacted me same day and was amazing! Come to find out, Noah was brand new that day so, I understand the issue with the service. Waiting tables is hard work anyway and it’s especially hard when it’s you first day and you don’t know the policy. Rick also reimbursed my meal and apologized. In short, They were quick to reach out and rectify the problem, which I am very grateful for and impressed. My faith in HuHot is restored and I will remain a faithful patron! Normally we have a very good experience, today… not so much! Had the WORST server I think I’ve ever had “Noah B”, or at least in the bottom 3. He did not visit our table 1 time until he brought the check, no refills. Then, I asked for a box. . . I had been through the line 1 time, had eaten about 5 bites when my stomach revolted (not because the food wasn’t good, I have a stomach issue that causes me to occasionally not be able to eat, unfortunately I don’t know it’s going to happen until I try to eat) I explained this to the server and he still would not let me have a box. So 1 whole meal wasted. It took him 8 minutes to make change for our bill, and then he shorted us $3. The cook was very polite and cooked our meal well. I don’t know if or when we will return to the Lawrence, KS HuHot, but it wont be anytime soon. Do better!”

“I had been forgotten by my server, but the staff swooped in and made it right! We were not upset at all, they were lovely and the atmosphere was very cozy. Food was GREAT. Highly recommend The Phog with the shallot topping, the truffle fries, the bacon cheddar fries, honestly all of it! Definitely check this place out for a tasty, affordable, cozy location downtown.”

The staff never seems very happy they try to be pleasant but you can read the body language very well and they just don't seem happy if you give them a tip they'll smile and be happy for a moment, but I think they need to work on it
The food was good I can never see exactly how clean they are inside because no one ever gets to go inside the building, I would recommend that you ask if you're seriously concerned
