“The first time I came here with friends I got the Old Bay fries and stayed for about an hour. The fries were good, but it didnt seem like they tossed them in the seasoning, just dumped it on, so it was concentrated in some spots and lacking in others. The second time I came, it was after 10:30, and I was turned away at the door because they start checking IDs at that time. Apparently they won't give people Xs or stamp their hands, they just don't let you come in if you're under 21. Not appreciated, and I hope they consider adjusting that policy as a respectable establishment on the block.”

The management needs to decide are a full fledged Italian restaurant or just a pizza place serving some Italian food. I would go back again.”

From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with genuine smiles and a welcoming attitude. They were super helpful, answering all my questions about the different smoothies and making great recommendations based on what I was looking for.
I ended up going with the Island Impact smoothie, and it was blended to absolute perfection—fresh, flavorful, and refreshing. What made the experience even better was how fast and efficiently everything was handled. Even though there were a few customers ahead of me, my order was ready in no time.

When you go inside it is very under decorated, but clean and they have a good sense of branding with their black and yellow color scheme. The tacos de birria and the birria torta con consomé are definitely the stars of the show. The tacos are big, packed with tender, flavorful meat, and perfect for dipping in the rich consomé. And the torta… ni hablar. It absolutely stands up to its reputation as a super torta huge, jugosa, and loaded with delicious birria. It’s one of those sandwiches that’s messy in the best way because it’s so full and juicy.
Yes, it was busy when we went, but it was 100% worth the wait. La comida está riquísima, the portions are generous, and you can see why this place is so popular.

I had sent an email through their contact form which Laurie answered and gave me enough reason to bring my bike to Proteus. I brought my bike in this past Saturday. The first person that greeted me was Paul. He checked over my bike and let me know that my bike was really in great shape and made a few minor adjustments that he didn’t charge me for. He replaced my seat and clipless pedals with flat pedals. Literally everyone in that shop made me feel comfortable and welcome. Laurie, Jeff, Duncan, Andy, Paul, yall are amazing and made me feel at home. I live in DC, but Proteus is my go to bike shop now!”

“I tried the falafel Sandwich with Za'atar fries. For the falafel sandwich, I paired with invisible sauce which made for a spicy taste to the sandwich. I loved how affordable it was. I was able to both items for ~$9. The sandwich was $4.50 and the fries $4. Za'atar fries weren't the freshest, but the seasoning blend (which consisted of dry herbs) on them made for an unique taste.

Can substitute protein with a vegan shawarma that seems to made in-house.

I ordered online and it was easy plus I was able to customized my order.

This location is in the midst of the University of Maryland area and has parking in front of building to easily get in and out. It is located right over Baltimore Ave. The facility is clean and it is takeout only.”

“I like their food, but they should make drinks mandatory with orders. Sometimes, for some reason, even if you select a drink, it doesn't appear on the order. And when you ask for it, they don't want to give it to you. And even when they have given it to me, they do it as if it were a courtesy. It's included in the price. If you explicitly say you don't want a drink, that's fine, but it's not always like that. And some employees should be more courteous in these situations.”

“This is only my third time coming here but each time gets better😭 I’ve lived here my whole life and only like salmon with cooked meat or cucumber rolls so I started making my own but now I get my maki combo with crunch and eel sauce and mind my business. Next time I’m getting roe added. This place is definitely a gem. The miso soup of good too. I tried the seaweed salad but it was too fishy for me (that may be a good thing to some). My mother loves this place too🥰”
