“Gem hiding in plain sight. Craving seafood after a show, we checked out Julian's Aguachiles. We were greeted with a smile from a friendly waitress. The chips and salsa tasted homemade. My daughter's meal came out first. I'm a critic when it comes to side beans. I can tell if they are homemade or not. These side beans were perfect. I could eat an entire plate of just beans. The presentation of the shrimp Aguachiles is picture worthy. The taste was nicely seasoned without being overpowering hot. My husband's beef soup was the perfect combination to dial down the heat. Word of caution: once the heat is gone, you will be craving for more. Looking forward to trying different options on the menu.”

Get to your reservation a little early and enjoy the surrounding historical buildings gathered from around Oxnard into a Heritage Center. Each property has a little description that is quite educational. Or, wait until you’ve enjoyed the great food for that after-dessert stroll. The food was amazing, from Mahi Salad to full steak dinner with excellent merlot. Same a few sips of that red wine to enjoy with their chocolate cake with raspberry, whipped cream & pecan topping. Whew. As you can witness with the photo, the servings are huge. (We took home another full meal - really.)”

I wish it had its own location vs in the train station as I don't feel safe going in there alone which is the only reason I'm giving them a 4 star review. Their gelato ice cream is very creamy and great! I love ordering the cafe de olla latte it's very flavorful. I also like the vanilla latte. The owner is there working all the time and overall everyone is very friendly.”

“Customer service is great. The cashier (a guy) was fun, funny, friendly, makes you feel comfortable, he is respectful and makes you want to return. This was my first time trying this place out. The food was great. The other customers were raving about the food and drinks while I was waiting for my food to be ready. I will definitely be going back again. Oh, and the fries with pork, nacho cheese, onions, and tomato on top were my favorite ? ? yum! The red salsa is spicy, good and the green one is mild and so flavorful, I am a fan of the green one. Food was not greasy either. A must try place.Dietary restrictions: There are plenty of dishes with no dairy and offer drinks that are non dairy. As for the rest I'm not 100% sure, but they do have tacos de papa with pork that I dont see why they couldn't make some without the meat to make it vegetarian and probably even vegan.Parking: Large parking lot with plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: I did see kids there eating with their parents.Wheelchair accessibility: It's in s parking lot, they have tables. There is plenty of space, and can easily move around and move a chair to fit a wheelchair.”

The beans are amazing and we don't get wowed up to easy anymore these days. Prices and portions are fair we will be back soon!!! Worth it to stop in and we didn't even plan to go here just caught our eye from the stop light. Both wifey and I felt so satisfied and happy after we left! I have Lived in the area since 1987-88 and this place is legit.... ~The Real Dealio~ Muy Authentica~ Mexican/American diner type restaurant action!! Next time pics for sure! I had Huevos Albanil (the stonemason) w/ flour tortillas Wifey had Huevos Cancun w/corn tortillas . Both were amazing! All we kept saying even after we left.”

“Busy place on a weekday morning, so I knew it had to be good. An old cafe that seems like locals should have a reserved coffee cup hanging on the wall awaiting their return. Ordered bisquits and gravy, sausage, two over easy eggs and a side of bacon. Did not disappoint on the food other than did not receive a full serving of gravy for my biscuits. Waited for my food order for 45 minutes after ordering but food was perfect.”

“When all else is closed, the truck tacos is where to go! Kind of rhymes lol Feel like everything closes too early these days. Luckily, we have the taco trucks working hard late at night. I pass by this taco truck at least a couple times a week and always have a long line. You can't miss it if you're ordering at night with their bright light show! Their food looked good in the pictures and I had to try'em. When I got my order, they did not disappoint! Exactly what I expected and it was made with the quickness! Chicken tacos were spot on and the azada fries were fresh and the fries were crispy! I was afraid to eat from these taco trucks but now that I've tasted it, definitely going back for more. They even pack on the food and the price is super reasonable. I highly recommended trying this place out especially when you got them last night cravings!”

We both wanted to try it after a few recommendations and the fact that I used to work in that building in the late 70s when it was a Sizzler Steak House Restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was awesome. We had appetizers as well as our meal and ended it with dessert. They all came out in a timely manner. I would go again!”

My husband ordered a carne asada burrito. We were both very happy with our selection. The season was perfect! This place seems to be a good spot for menudo. By the way corn tortillas are hand made. Oh ! What's a Memela ? It's a thick hand made tortilla with melted cheese and the sauce of your choice. Yes!!! An opened quesadilla! Between a quesadilla and a gordita ! “We went to the Yard House last Friday, (first time in a very long time) and I want to tell you that our experience was saved by our server Jason. We ordered a beer and a Mai Tai. You could tell that the Mai Tai is probably not ordered often there (being that they specialize in their tap beers) it wasn't very good, and it wasn't in a very nice presentation glass either. We told our server, who was quick to repace it for us. We went on to place our Dinner order. My husband ordered a Pasta dish with LOBSTER (sorry, I don't know the menu name) anyway it was a spaghetti or linguine type of pasta with what looked like a light tomato sauce, with an 'additional' Caesar Salad.I ordered a Stacked Turkey Club and fries. The food was slow coming out but we were enjoying our evening out. While looking around we noticed that it wasn't overly busy and there was certainly 'not' a shortage of staff working the floor. When our meal was served it came with the Salad and we realized that it hadn't come out prior to the meal, had we noticed we would have brought it to Jason's attention. So my husband started on the pasta right away - leaving the Salad alone so that he could enjoy the Pasta while it was hot and fresh. It was too late - it was already cold and disappointing. Again, Jason was very helpful and gave us the utmost of professional service. We were very pleased with the rest of the food we ordered, but I want to stress that it was Jason's superior service that will bring us/me back to the Restaurant. Addtionally - I want to say that I know mistakes happen and that things can go wrong in the kitchen, But, if you have it on your menu- you should be able to prepare and serve it properly.Thanks again Jason ?♀️”

Not saying it's expensive because it is fairly priced; purchase 3 cups with toppings and it only cost me $21 approx. Limited seating so if your intention is to eat and sit then I wouldn't go around peak hours. If you decide to take it home, they do give you a cap. Overall very pleased and would go back.”

Sammy the bartender was awesome. Very attentive to my drinks and everyone’s else’s drinks , knowledgeable on what he’s serving, and just a friendly attitude towards everyone there. Awesome local spot to get some great beers and wines. They have darts, a shuffle board table, and a digital jukebox to play your favorite tunes. I would definitely recommend the Beachcomber Tavern to anyone that is local, traveling through or the vacation rental people. I will definitely be back myself.”

I decided to pay $19 for a full 12" of the capricciosa pizza. The crust was super chewy with prosciutto, olives, artichokes and mushrooms. I loved how the acid from the olives balanced the meatier prosciutto and mushrooms, but I do wish they added more prosciutto. In the picture there are only a few slices added. I don't think I'd come back but it's great to see Neapolitan pizza around these parts!”

I got 1 torta de al pastor 1 quesadilla My kids asked for beans inside a hortcha large and my 4 tacos with plenty of salsa cebolla asada pepinos and rábanos(my favorite with tacos) it came out to $30 and will be coming back again soon”

Other reviews are so strange... It is a food court where many food varieties are offered and few tables are available. If you expect a high-end food experience at a food court price, stop posting reviews on Google. Some people wander over to a lake and complain the surfing is bad. Good grief.I like how the hot/spicy sauce comes on the side. I sometimes prefer my spicy dishes to be cooked with the spicy sauce, but speedy prep requires sauce on the side. It is a tradeoff. I used to not eat spicy food at all a few years ago, and I still appreciate the opportunity to control the spice level. This is no different than adding hot sauce to each bite of a burrito or tacos.I liked food containers. “We pass this restaurant daily and often it is empty. After reading the reviews, my husband and I decided we wanted to judge for ourselves. This is a beautiful restaurant, perfect for a date night. They are working on getting their liquor license, so no cocktails yet. This is not a taco truck or fast food restaurant. We ordered the guacamole to start. It could easily have served 4-6 people. It was delicious! I ordered the sopes. You get 3. I got one of each... mushroom, asada, and chorizo. They were piled high and very filling. Mushroom and chorizo were my favorite. My husband ordered the shrimp ceviche. He was filled up and enjoyed every bite. We will certainly return. I'd love to try the churros on the dessert menu. No, beans and rice are not served on the side, but there was plenty of food. I encourage you to try this restaurant out for yourselves and support this new business in Oxnard.”

“The food was delicious and the service was above and beyond. The potions are generous. We had the House Special Fried rice ( full of meat and shrimp), pan-fried dumplings, and Mu-shoo chicken. The server packed up the leftovers really nicely, at the table, So much nicer than throwing you a box, extra points for this. Private parking lot and I can see my car clearly while eating, also a huge plus. They serve all day with no break between lunch and dinner, which I love (because we tend to eat a late lunch and a light dinner) They do a consistent take out business and appeared to be regular customers. Typical dated expected Chinese decor. It looks familiar because there is at least one like this in every town. Unfortunately some kind of little gnats infringed on our otherwise lovely meal. I have only been here once, so maybe it was a fluke. This really checked all the boxes for me ( except for the bugs) it's a tough choice, if I take it to go, I don't get the service.”

A blue-collar, workin’ man’s bar, Joe owned the place, Yvonne ran it .. bartenders were cool, drinks tasty and cheap, locals tight and friendly .. and this place just immediately felt like ‘Home.’ Over the years, we ate, drank, smoked, joked, sang and screwed our way thru some damn good times!! In 3 1/2 decades, regulars who became dear friends have come, gone .. many passing away. But does the heart good to know the same cool ‘locals vibe’ is alive and well .. and new generations are finding appreciation for what is still, the best kept secret in town. My respect… ??”

Cleanliness and sterilization are a high priority on my list and being my first tattoo I wanted the person to actually be good. Jbad checks all those boxes on top of being quick, he's totally chill ,and his calm voice definitely makes you feel comfortable. Can't wait to visit again and get the next one.”
