“My first time in was last September for a friend’s birthday- ordered the Spanish style bruschetta and it was good, but not very filling.My second time in was last week. We shared the yucca fries with cheese as an appetizer. These were delicious and I preferred them to the steak fries that came with my meal. The spicy blackberry margarita is a fan-fave here for a good reason. This time around I tried the Sandwich de Chola and was not disappointed! Service was great both times. Can’t wait to come back and try something new”
“Let me share this: I cannot stress enough how picky of an eater I am. I grew up eating from scratch and I now cook from scratch as adult. This place met my standards! The waiter Micheal was good! The lollipop lamb chops were Excellent. If I had to give a downside, perhaps a touch more polenta. My husband had the pasta with alfredo sauce. That dish was too salty.Other than that good. Dinner guests had the steak bites with the orzo; they raved over the dish! We all shared the oysters, they loved it. If I had to critique, they’re not Rockefeller, as there’s no spinach, but they were fine. Also, a few more shakes needed prior to serving their version of the dirty martini. The dinner guests also, enjoyed the cocktail with the foam on top. You won’t be disappointed with this choice. This fancy dinner was worth the 3 hour drive and we’ll have happy memories of dining with are good friends thanks to Vele and Micheal for a lifetime!!!”

“Had dinner at Mariah’s tonight and it was fabulous! If you only think of this place for the pasta, you are missing out on some of the best steaks in Springfield. My New York Strip was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The desserts are great and the service top notch. If you’ve never been or it’s been a while, you need to head out to Mariah’s.”

My wife had a salad with spiced cauliflower and figs which she thought was wonderful, followed by heated brie with cherries and crostini. It was amazing. Amy, our server, was helpful with my wife's choices (Laura is vegetarian). The only downside was a large table behind us was very loud, possibly from too much alcohol, and the piped-in music wasn't what we consider appropriate for dinner and a quiet conversation. It also was too loud. But we'll be back; I want the pear salad again and a main course of bone marrow and short rib marmalade. “First time there today. The lady that took our order was very friendly and helpful with helping us with our choices… we got the chicken and the beef Philly sandwiches with fries. Wow… super hot, fresh and bursting with flavor. Great homemade ranch sauce as a side for the fries and extra jerk sauce for the sandos. The employee must have heard us talking about trying the tacos and sent us home with a complimentary to go bag of them! Definitely a place all should experience. Also loved the music vibe playing as well!”

“My family and I love Vextor!! We visit several times a week. We love the milk teas and refreshers. Love the boba and the jellies! So many options. The mini eggrolls are great. You can choose your sweetness level and ice level! The staff are awesome too! So friendly and helpful in explaining menu items. I have had boba drinks from other places and they just don’t compare. My fave is the passion fruit lychee milk tea with 25 percent sugar and the Thai Hurricane with brown boba. I also love all of the refresher tea flavors with crystal boba.”
“We were recommended this spot from another stop on our trip. The name says it all, how could we say no? This space has a quaint cafe feel, and in nicer weather the garden would be the perfect place to enjoy your goodies. We ordered several goodies from the counter along with herbal tea. There were several varieties of macarons, brownies, cake slices, and pastries to choose from. The team was helpful with suggestions and suggestions explaining the items available. We plan to stop in once more before we head back home.”

This place is so cool, the vibes are so relaxed, Harley was our bartender and he was so nice and great to talk to. The drinks were delicious and the food was excellent. Love that they support local as well. Extra bonus: street parking is easy and not parallel! Definitely go if you haven't been!”

“This was my first time going to Loukinens' and everything we tried on their menu was amazing. We started with the blackened steak lollipops and the steak was a perfect medium rare and well seasoned. I had the beer cheese soup and it was creamy, rich, and had a lovely flavor. The meatloaf cupcake trio was very cute. The meatloaf had whipped mashed potatoes on top to make it look like cupcakes. Our server was on point. He was friendly, quick, and made our meal a great experience. It is on the pricier side, especially for Springfield, but it's well worth it.”

When you can hear the sound of metal striking the flat grill you know the food is going to be the best you’ve had in a very long time. I had chicken fajitas and everything was fresh, veggies were crisp. We also had the Carnitas Gomez from their signature menu. I can hardly describe the melt in your mouth flavor they capture in this dish, but you can tell it has not been sitting in a warmer until we arrived. Fresh, hot, and fantastic. The dishes might arrive at different times but this allows each one to arrive without sitting in a warmer losing its freshness. If you’re looking for something different and you enjoy “flavor” then you have to come here! I cannot say enough great things about this place, so just try it yourself.”

“I've only ever really gone to this place for lunch, and most of the time It's very good. Unfortunately, they suffer from the same thing that every bar suffers from and that is a high turnover of their cooks. The one thing that doesn't appear to change is the quality of the food that they at least start cooking. They probably have one of the best hamburgers in Springfield. I would much rather go here than any fast food restaurant and pay almost the exact same amount. The bartenders have always been friendly and it's always clean. I would definitely recommend you check this place out if you're wanting a relatively fast tasty lunch at a good price.”

They had a party of 12 walk in right before us, with only 1 cook. they done their best to make it fast to seat us, and others. Usally we wouldn't wait that long, but all the staff was extremely friendly and working hard to please all customers. 1 young waitress cause she didn't have a sitter and had to bring her little boy to work with her... But SHE WAS THERE! working her butt off. we told her to put him with us, we played with him until the grandma cane to pick him up. Even insects don't really bother with McDonald's scraps. But, it's almost always hot and clean food. It's better than nothing. It's about the same as microwave dinner.Sometimes the breakfast biscuits are cooked correctly and assembled straight.Service: It's about the same as anything you'd find along any highway. It's not college campus nice. People from downtown, the ones with money... Yeah, they don't go there.Atmosphere: Springfield keeps pushing homeless people to the outskirts. The local pan handles are decent. Sometimes they do the "stoplight stare." They're not pushy or threatening. The homeless aren't hiring doctors to study their sleeping habits for a marketing project. They're just hoping for spare change. It's a decent location with the McDonald's there, a few gas stations, and a Laundromat.”

“We ordered our holiday meal from Mission BBQ and picked it up on Christmas Eve. I can’t say enough positive about my experience. The person who took my order prior to the holiday was so nice and made sure they hadn’t over committed on carry out orders for that day. When we picked up, it was ready, the folks working were so friendly and they even carried it out to the car for us! The food was amazing and the service was even better. Only suggestion is to allow people to tip with a credit card. I didn’t have sufficient cash to tip the staff like I would have wanted to. They’re awesome and deserve it!”

Very attentive wait staff, and a pretty extensive menu.I got the fisherman's breakfast: 2 eggs, toast, potatoes and choice of catfish or walleye. It was good, but when I saw the bloke at the table next to me eating the catfish sandwich, which featured 2 large filets on slabs of marbeled rye, I made a mental note to order that next time I'm passing through Springfield. My daughter had the most attention-grabbing dish: a chocolate chip pancake as large as the 33 1/3 vinyl records also on the wall.”

“Stopped in for a late lunch. We both started with stuffed cabbage soup, something we'd never heard of no less had. Ir was unique and delicious. My wife had the fried green tomatoes, and I had corned beef and cabbage with a side salad. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The soup was especially good on a cold and wet afternoon. We had an excellent server; he was really attentive and efficient. Next time I'll try the shepherd's pie.”

Everything I down near Springfield Illinois I stop and have a corn dog.The corn dogs are made fresh to order in their batter and deep fried. It's not the frozen store bought. These are freshly made to order with a thick corn meal breading around the hot dog. Ask for mustard. Best way to eat a corn dog!Their fries are fresh cut with the skin and skinny fries. I like the fries but the basket is way too many fries. If you eat a lot of fries or there's more than 2 in your party then get the basket or if you want the best deal for the price then get the basket.”

Were seated quickly. I had a bowl of hot and sour soup and a California roll. The soup was richer and more flavorful than previously. I finished off with the vanilla bean cheesecake. We had a bachelorette party in the party space a couple months back and he was so amazing in ensuring it was a memorable time. I wouldn’t hesitate having another event there. My server tonight, Bethany, was just a delight as well. Despite the fact there was a wait, she remained calm, cool, and collected and we never lacked for anything desired even though she was juggling a 30 person party as well. Even though I live in STL (which means I’m exposed to great service and quality food often) I will always make it a point to stop in for either a drink or a satisfying meal.”

“Looking for a dive bar with cheap drinks? This is it! Bloody Mary bar today added to the fun. It's a cute bar with great bartenders. We didn't eat so I can't speak for the food though. Next to the bar is another building/patio with a stage for bands to play. It's more of an open air area but in the winter they heat it and close it up. Now in Illinois this means they can still smoke there. If you don't mind the old Smokey bar feel it's great. You can always go in the main building where there's no smoking if you don't want to be around that. I think in the summer it would be a great hangout! We really enjoyed catching up with some friends and if in town would go again.”

“We haven't eaten at Pao in more than 5 years. My wife had a mixed green salad with goat cheese, and a vegetarian pasta dish. She was pleased with both, especially the salad which was fresh and crisp. I started with the fig, onion, and goat cheese sliders. I thought the three sliders would be just that, but they had tiny burgers as well. They were terrific. My main course was grilled divers scallops with creamed leeks and roasted asparagus. It was also terrific, as was the creme brulee for dessert. Chelsey, our server, was attentive and knew the menu; she recommended the scallops rather than the Chilean sea bass special. In sum, we had an excellent dinner. The room was loud which made our conversation difficult at times. My biggest gripe -- call me an out-of-date curmudgeon or a snob -- was a man who kept his Cincinnati baseball hat on while dining. Many people don't dress appropriately -- scruffy jeans and t-shirts seem the norm -- and such dress really sets me off. But we'll return to Pao for another excellent meal.”

When we arrived the waiter offered us a free mojito because the air conditioner was slow to get going and it was really hot outside. Turned out the air conditioner was not working at all and the baby was over heating so bad the parents had to take her in the lobby to cool off and we had to take our kids food to go. For a $400 dinner it would have been nice if they were honest with us and said they had no air conditioning in the restaurant. Food was delicious and the waiter was pleasant but too hot.”

We sat inside the restaurant, there are tvs playing sports and "moments" hanging from the ceiling. Our "Our Burgers" arrived at the table and (after a pic or two) I dove in. The burger was done to my liking, a nice medium rare and the cheese was melted goodness. The burger was juicy and the tots was hot and fluffy. My only regret is, I should have gotten a double patty. The burger was filling but it was so good I was in greedy mode.”

When you can hear the sound of metal striking the flat grill you know the food is going to be the best you’ve had in a very long time. I can hardly describe the melt in your mouth flavor they capture in this dish, but you can tell it has not been sitting in a warmer until we arrived. Fresh, hot, and fantastic. “I have only tried the lemon pepper party wings and fries, but absolutely love them! Delicious, high quality fried chicken and fries. I will be back to try more of their menu options. The blend of flavors in the seasoning is delicious and unique to anything I’ve tried before. Friendly service. I love that they have a drive-thru as an option. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend!”

“Stopped in for a late lunch. We both started with stuffed cabbage soup, something we'd never heard of no less had. Ir was unique and delicious. My wife had the fried green tomatoes, and I had corned beef and cabbage with a side salad. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The soup was especially good on a cold and wet afternoon. We had an excellent server; he was really attentive and efficient. Next time I'll try the shepherd's pie.”

“Fun place. The outside looks like a barracks, but inside it's a hive of activity. Kitschy advertising signs - Sinclair Oil, Eastern Airlines - vie with Elvis and Marilyn for wall space. Very attentive wait staff, and a pretty extensive menu.I got the fisherman's breakfast: 2 eggs, toast, potatoes and choice of catfish or walleye. It was good, but when I saw the bloke at the table next to me eating the catfish sandwich, which featured 2 large filets on slabs of marbeled rye, I made a mental note to order that next time I'm passing through Springfield. My daughter had the most attention-grabbing dish: a chocolate chip pancake as large as the 33 1/3 vinyl records also on the wall.”
“My boyfriend and I brought are dog to eat out on the patio. One of the servers brought us out a dog bowl full of water and treats! The food was so good. It was busy and the food, appetizers, and check all came fast. ”

However, when I checked my bank statement I seen the waitress tacked on an extra $4 tip for herself After we left her a $20 tip in cash on a $65.69 tab. I always write cash in the tip area of the receipt for this reason but she still did it! So watch your receipts, they have at least one dishonest waitress!!”
“Location is a little small- only reason for 4 Stars in atmosphere and to help with legitimate review filter. The food was fantastic! Got a bowl, two (sandwhich), baklava cheesecake, and a drink. The service was equally outstanding. Woman explained everything and I listened to her do the same service for every single customer. This place is a win!”
“Apparently the drive thru speaker was not working yesterday. I sat there a few minutes before an employee came out to tell me that it was broken and to pull up to the window to order. The employee that took my order was very polite and pleasant. One thing I didn't like is she took my card and closed the window, and I couldn't see what was happening with my card. I ordered a chicken sandwich which had way too much mayo on it and the cajun fries were PERFECT! My only other complaint is that the outside of this business needs some TLC - lots of trash all around.”
“First time there today. The lady that took our order was very friendly and helpful with helping us with our choices… we got the chicken and the beef Philly sandwiches with fries. Wow… super hot, fresh and bursting with flavor. Great homemade ranch sauce as a side for the fries and extra jerk sauce for the sandos. The employee must have heard us talking about trying the tacos and sent us home with a complimentary to go bag of them! Definitely a place all should experience. Also loved the music vibe playing as well!”
“The entire experience was awesome from The first call and talking to Matthew about reserving and being able to accommodate a family for a celebration of life meal on two days notice; THIS was such a Blessing and made me give a sigh of relief. They had the room ready and Lots of food to choose from!!! They kept up the demand for the wonderfully tasty chicken and a great variety of yummy pizza, the assortment of all the sides and a great salad and dessert bar was just a great way to top off the meal! All staff kept tables cleaned offered assistance as needed; the place was spotless. So Thank you to Matthew who is providing a great work environment that shows through the staff. And on top of it all I found out that Pizza Ranch was the woman whose life we were celebrating was her favorite place to go ; thank you and May God Bless all as you all have Blessed us.”

“Food was delicious, fried rice very flavorful and every bite of steak was better than the last. The chef was very polite and his dedication to service made me enjoy the food more even if it did take longer than typical fast food (which should be expected with the types of dishes here). The overall ambiance was the mall food court which at the time was fairly empty but it's kept clean and I was able to enjoy my meal in peace. Will be my go to foodie spot at the mall!”
