“The best, freshest seafood! Best fish taco i ever put in my mouth. And love the atmosphere!”
“Spent several late afternoons/early evenings at Doar Bros. last week and had a great time! Jake and Stephen are artists in creating phenomenal craft cocktails! JD, one of the owners, very personable and welcoming! All great guys! If you're in to cocktailing, no trip to Charleston is complete without a stop at Doar Bros.! Cheers!”
“I cannot express how great this establishment is. Best meal I have ever had. Normally would not write a review but this place was unforgettable.”
“Amazing food with unique variations. Friendly professional staff in a Charleston casual atmosphere.”
“The Darling Oyster Bar was wonderful. From the stylish decor to the food and service— everything was of the highest quality. I tried oysters for the first time, and they were better than I anticipated. The blue crab tagliatelle was delicious and so was the key lime pie. Zach and Robert were so friendly and helpful and made our dining experience very enjoyable and memorable.”

“We enjoyed oysters, yellowfin tuna, clam chowder, steak and the fish basket plus some delicious drinks! Service was amazing as well as the entire experience. Highly recommend!”

“Lot of vegetarian choices. All of the menu can be made vegetarian and then you can add your meat to the dishes. Being vegetarian that was very nice to see. The place is really small and the parking upfront is limited but since it's in a shopping complex you can park there and walk. We ordered Santa Fe and California burrito and both tasted good. We ordered chips and salsa and it was good too. Service was good. Food came out in good time.
Vegetarian options: Most dishes can be vegetarian. You have the option to add tofu and grilled vegetables”
“Good food Excellent coffee Nice place”
“The food is absolutely amazing, the staff is exceptional. nothing on the menu disappoints. so glad we stopped in that we came back a second time before we left town. anytime we come to Charleston we'll be back for dinner!”

“Just absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! I may have eaten three of the Wagyu rolls. We had awesome Sake! Kazuyuki and Chris know their stuff, pay attention to every detail and take the time to talk to their patrons. Maybe the best food in Charleston. Can’t wait to go back in a couple weeks!!”
“Simply perfection! The oyster selection is otherworldly. The chargrilled oysters the best Ive had in my life. (Florida born an culinary chef.) The peel & eat shrimp so plump and served ice cold I have craved them since I had them. The service was above and beyond. The atmosphere encouraged private chatter but also conversation with next table easily. Friendly and cheerful and above all excellent food served with smiles, suggestions, and ease. I will never visit Charleston again without making sure to dine here. (Do not eat the soup. I actually sent it back to the kitchen. Never have I had to do that. ) Highly recommend again and again for everything else.”

“What a great spot. We sat at the raw bar and had a fully curated experience led by Nick. He shucked his way through the various oyster options while giving us a description of all the varieties. Not only did he shock close to 300 oysters while we sat there but multitasked a thorough description of the options while we sipped on some of the best cocktails in town. The Bad John is something all patrons need to try. To chat with a Nova Scotian local who can talk up the best oysters in the Carolina’s was such a fresh surprise.11/10. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.”
“Stepped out of our typical places to eat to try Azur and we were really impressed. Food, drinks, and service were all top tier. Pedro and Chris were great bartenders who made sure our experience was absolutely excellent.”
“Had brunch today. Food was good. The chicken and waffle was really tasty.”

“Charming southern fare in a beautiful Victorian setting! The shrimp dumplings are a standout—perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. The cozy, historic ambiance adds to the experience, making it a must-visit spot in Charleston. Great service and a menu that truly captures the essence of Southern cuisine. Highly recommend!”
“Terrific dinner experience. We sat at the bar and Laura took our order for food and drinks. She is a professional, friendly, knowledgeable about the food, drinks, history of the restaurant. We commented on the excellent quality of the food and drinks. She is very much a people person and fun to talk to. We told her we are from Hawaii and eat fish daily and also clean and scale all the fish we catch.
Dietary restrictions: Laura asked if any of us had allergies.
Parking: Classy ambience, emaculate, and though filled with patrons, quiet enough to talk to each other at normal conversation levels.”
“Yet another great experience at Charleston Grill. We try to come here whenever we visit Charleston. The service is always awesome and the food is great. You get what you pay for... it's not inexpensive. The Crab Cake is always a great appetizer. And the scallops are beautiful prepared. We'll be back!”
“It was an unplanned visit to High Cotton. Our party was very underdressed. The hostess was quite pompous and gave the impression we should go elsewhere. Obviously if it was a planned dinner we would have been well dressed. The food was exceptional. The staff were incredible. But our waiter, Jamal, made our experience very memorable. He made sure we were welcome despite our attire. Jamal and my 11 year old grandson became good friends for the evening. Jamal was impressed with my grandson's order of a pot of mussels in garlic sauce, smoked duck, lobster mac and cheese and strawberry shortcake. Jamal was the highlight of our evening. Our family highly recommend you ask for Jamal if you visit High Cotton. The next visit we will look our finest and definitely ask for Jamal.”
“Was absolutely mazing… but the little nibbles are over priced. You can come as you are to this place and I love that the champagne and whites are right there and ready to serve. Caviar cone; sooooo good, but a single bite for 13…..Oysters were soooo fresh and I am picky, but the vinaigrette they have is yummy!!!”
“Brunch was Fantastic! Had Scallop Benny & Shrimp & Grits. Outdoor & indoor seating. Great service & atmosphere!!”

“I have ordered several different things from this truck, and have yet to have a bad experience. Delicious coffee and the guy who serves it is extremely knowledgeable about where the beans come from and what is the best type of flavor, and can help you decide what is best. I look forward to getting it every time I see them.”
“This is our 3rd year staying here for St. Patrick’s day weekend. The hotel is fabulous in every way. From the restaurants to the front desk service, everything is 5 stars. Charlie at the pool bar took care of us and made our stay very enjoyable. I highly recommend The Ryder for your stay in Charleston.”

Takeout Restaurants
“Food is always a 10/10 and the service is always warm, friendly, and helpful! We love the OG Garlic noodles and the general Gerry’s chicken! Not a stretch to say it is my favorite fried chicken outside of Korea I’ve ever had. Janet, Christian, Becca were incredible tonight but MICHAEL always goes above and beyond for the guests. We really appreciate the entire staff here.”
“Great customer service ! My favorite restaurant in charlesotn and the owners are amazing!!! Love hymans and how it is family oriented!”
“Squid salad was fresh and flavorful but could use a little more vegetables or herbs. Tuna salad was flavorful but the use of cooked albacore/yellowfin meat was very disappointing. Fried rabbit was tender but one dimensional. Roasted octopus with fingerling potatoes is on point.”
“Wow! This is by far the BEST fried chicken I've ever had! And let me tell you, I despise lemonaid but I tried theirs once and ordered a giant cup and loved it! Highly recommend coming here. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in town!”
“How does this place only get 4.4?? I have eaten here multiple times and it's always been outstanding. So many restaurants are reviewed by people who are happy to eat mediocre food but this is anything but that. Most people happily review French cuisine but they have never been to France for example. This is a diamond in the rough for sure.”
“Great creative seafood. One of my favorites every Charleston visit.”

“Hmmm I really enjoyed bar George but a few things probably keeps it from being one I’ll frequent. First they only had one variety of oyster. And it was ok. But then they didn’t have horseradish for it. I get that everyone wants to be fancy with mignonette but have a lil on the side for us common folks. LOL
Now all that said I also had a small peach Caesar salad that was delicious and the drinks have the best curly straw around!”
“I have been Rancho Lewis several times before and have always enjoyed it. It was a nice place to be on a cold and rainy day. Our server was attentive and the food was very flavorful. We were a group of ladies chatting and reminiscing and catching up with one another. All of us exclaimed over the large portion sizes. My Christmas Burrito was so large that I was able to have it for dinner. I will definitely go back.”
“The Cold Shoulder Gourmet will make you reevaluate what a sandwich should be. Also, your life choices, your religion, everything. I found it to be that profound. Turkey and cheese your thing? This isn't the place. If you want to push the limits of taste and pairings in the beloved format of a sandwich this is the guy. I can't describe the sandwiches he makes but i assure you that you've never had a better one. One man show and he is just the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Makes you feel like an old friend. Sandwiches are to go and maybe that's part of his vision. Take his masterpieces somewhere that you can relax and really try to understand what he has created. He sells out early so get there early. I can't rate higher than a 5 but this is truly sandwich art. Deserving of a 100/5”
“Outstanding meal from the drinks to the she crab soup to the delicious entrees. The key lime pie was a great ending to the meal. Sara was fantastic and made wonderful suggestions for food - she had perfect timing and had just the right amount of conversation with us. Truly a memorable meal and reasonably priced, especially for Charleston. Will be back next time we are in town.”
“Located within the Charles Towne Fermatory, Bok Choy Boy is SO good! Truly a hidden gem. We got the dumplings, hot buns, and croffles (strawberry, s’mores and Oreo) and everything was phenomenal. We ordered more to go because it was so good. Will definitely be returning!”
“It was nice to find a place with a few vegan options, as there aren’t many places in Charleston with one vegan thing let alone multiple. We had the corn ribs, cauliflower and Caesar with grilled tofu. The corn ribs and tofu were delicious, the rest was good. Staff was nice.”
“Excellent food
A great diverse menu.
Super staff
Parking: Some free spots at the restaurant or the aquarium city garage around the corner”
“This was a first for my wife and I to experience French Cuisine for her Burfday and Brasserie La Banque met all of our expectations and also surpassed those through their hospitality and being sure their patrons were treated as royalty. We will definitely be dining there again as soon as possible.”
Fine Dining
“I found out about Southbound, through my job. I had to go do some work there, and found the owner and everyone there, super friendly. Most people at restaurants ignore working people while they are there. As my 42nd anniversary was quickly approaching, I decided to give this place a try. Some of my past picks, have not been the best. Southbound cleared EVERY hurdle I have about restaurants. From the moment we approached the restaurant, great service began! While coming thru the gate, the hostess yelled out, "HEY LARRY" and then said, "This must be your beautiful wife"! Like CHEERS, it felt great to go somewhere, "Where everybody knows your name" We were seated and got to view the open fire oven. I had dropped off 42 roses the week before for them to put on our table, for my wife. Tropical storm Debbie, and downtown flooding prevented us from going exactly on our anniversary. I was worried that store bought roses, would not last thru the weeklong delay, Joel assured me everything would be taken care of, and not to worry. As we were seated, there on the table, sat 42 roses. Fresh, and arranged with baby breath flowers included. I was told the young lady with the hostess had arranged them. They were gorgeous! They also had an anniversary card on the table from them, not something I had dropped off. The service was tremendous, the food indescribably outstanding! I have only had steak Tar Tar once before in my life, and was greatly afraid to try it again, as the first time was awful. It was superb! They take great pride in the presentation of their food products. I felt like I was in an episode of Master Chef. We had the steak, as well as the Sea bass, okra, corn, sweet potatoes, and the Caramel cake. Everything absolutely wonderful! This was a truly wonderful and memorable dining experience!! I would give 100 stars, and a Siskel and Ebert two thumbs up! There was only one thing I was disappointed about. No sweet tea! Were In Charleston SC, no sweet tea. Everything else totally made up for it though. The staff even had everyone present sign a menu, wishing us a happy anniversry1 I will most definatly go there again for a special occasion. Thanks to Andrew, Joel, and the entire staff, for making this night special!!”
“Our first time there in from NY, we sat on the balcony the service was fantastic from our server, Kaitlin was very warm and welcoming, she knew the menu as if she wrote it. The Sommelier Angelo made a wonderful recommendation and the food was simply amazing. We will certainly return.”
“What an delightful experience! when you arrive Mike greets you and is a gracious host for the evening. The food was delicious and interesting. Mike talks history which was both interesting and entertaining. I wish Mike and his supper club were everywhere. If you are going to be in Charleston book it, you will not be disappointed!”
“Truly an experience unlike any other. From the caviar pairings, the variety of mignonettes & wines from all over the world, the learning experience behind each & every course - it’s as if Kevin has put you & 11 strangers on a rollercoaster that he somehow is navigating for hours. Never having tried caviar before, I’m so happy this place was my first. The amount you learn in just this experience alone is worth the price in my opinion. Not to mention Kevin’s got the best music selection on this side of the Mississippi. Put Raw Lab on your bucket list, you won’t regret it!”

“Dinner was very good & everyone was so very nice. Had reservations & they seated us at 5. It was Mothers Day& graduation week so they were really busy BUT no one made us feel rushed. We will definitely come back..”

“A real gem! We stopped in for a drink and to perhaps try a "plate"
We were there for 4hrs.
The atmosphere is fresh, yet cozy. It's a tiny place, so everyone is right there, attentive to our needs. The music is relaxing yet upbeat, transporting you out to the world and yet not too loud for conversation! The menu looks simple but when you eat from it, you realize how thoughtfully put together each dish is! Pistachio-Parmesan Salad, Shrimp Toast were our picks and were both outstanding.”
“Not sure why this location has a lower rating than the other. I had a great time at both locations and I’m glad I went out of my way to pop into this one. If I was local I’d be a regular for sure! I sat at the bar top and enjoyed my coffee and people watching. The team work and way the staff interacted with each other made it known that it was a well run establishment. Great job, Babas!”
“We adored this place! We accidentally found the downtown Charleston location during our stay there at a close AirBNB! We visited 3 times in our 2.5 days there. Then, we passed by the John’s Island location on our way to Kiawah and decided to make the 25 min drive the next morning for our coffee and pop tart fix! Great coffee, service, pastries, toasts and local drink and food finds!”
“Ordered takeout for two sandwiches, the Italian girl and the Italian boy! Really good sandwiches - super filling, great flavor. $17 each.
The only thing to note is that both sandwiches (both halves of each) had a horizontal toothpick in them. Usually they’re vertical to keep the sandwich together but a couple bites into the sandwich, bit right into the toothpick. Feels extremely dangerous.”
“Service and atmosphere is amazing, the pastries and coffee are always solid, the food can be hit or miss as its a bit on the sweet side sometimes could use spice or salt , and the quiche texturally has been a bit strange from time to time with the occasional charred cheese on top but never terrible.”
“Big Shout Out to Tina our server today at Metro Diner ! She was Wonderful! She came right over with a beautiful smile and took our beverage order. We told her we knew what we wanted. She had no problem taking our food order. She even made a suggestion to my husband that saved him a few cents. She was a ray of Sunshine. She was very attentive. She checked on us several times. The food is great! The staff is great! Their cooks know what they are doing!! You can aee they all work as a team ! We have never had a bad meal there!!”
“One of the best restaurants in Charleston. Very creative menu. 3 people on our night out each dish was amazing.
Vegetarian options: Very accommodative regarding my wife's shellfish allergy.”
“I can't say enough good things about my birthday dinner at 82 Queen. The cocktails were creative and delicious. The food, nothing short of amazing! I highly recommend the short ribs. Awesome appetizers and desserts. Wonderful service from our server which included a birthday card from the restaurant waiting on me at the table and a birthday drink from the server. 82 Queen will always be a favorite of mine! It is a Charleston classic that has stood the test of time.”
“Love coming here for the Catfish Sandwich and frozen Cin and Tonic!”
“We have celebrated many birthdays, anniversaries and special events at the Establishment. Never once had an experience short of excellent. The staff is always top shelf and the kitchen has never missed a beat. You won't be disappointed!”

“Came for lunch today and the food, service and portions were great! Highly recommend the Buttermilk Catfish Sandwich with the sauce that comes with truffle fries instead of mayo!”
“we had dinner there last night with 35 guests.we were served family style and everything was delicious.service was excellent even with the large crowd
That was probably the best prime rib I’ve had in a long time
Thanks for making our night special
Jack Krauss”
“Experienced filipino food like never before! The food was fantastic and it has a wonderful atmosphere.”
“We stumbled into the rooftop for a bachelorette party and had the most amazing time. Dana was the most caring waitress. She recommended drinks to the group, hand delivered shots to the photo booth for the bride, and gave us advice about the city! The drinks were lived by the group! Go here and ask for Dana!”
“Vern’s Restaurant in downtown Charleston truly exceeded our expectations and left us with an unforgettable dining experience. The food was exceptional—quite possibly the best meal we have ever had.”
“Best meal, service, and atmosphere we've had in Charleston! All our food was delicious, but the shrimp and grits was out of this world! Best decision we made was to eat there.”
“If you could rent this place at 10 stars for food service and atmosphere I would. Definitely hits one of the top restaurants in Charleston in all of those categories. Highly recommend. Yours truly, a foodie”
“We had my birthday dinner here. Cozy yet lively setting. Service was outstanding and every single item we ordered was phenomenal. Beer and wine selection is superb. Short Ribs and Crispy Eggplant are a must!”
“The food was amazing the crystal was an amazing server prompt attentive ever though the whole restaurant was slammed 10 out of 10 would ear here again”
“Thank you for having Charleston Society of Horror yesterday for our monthly meeting! We had a wonderful time. The food was great, service was even better and we will be back.”
“She crab soup and filet mignon was great. Calamari was a little chewy and a super thick cut. Scallops were a little underdone, which made them chewy. They were plated with a cauliflower puree that tasted a little weird. Service was great. Really neat rustic atmosphere.”
“Great food awesome atmosphere. Service was awesome. Ate at the bar and it was perfect”
“Food and service was good but wish they kept their social media updated. Arrive at 4:30 and were out of the Double-barrel and ribs. If looking to go for their ribs, definitely suggest calling ahead as this was a huge disappointment. The wings however were amazing! The white hot and their hot honey and blue sauces were fantastic! The pork rinds with Tabasco honey and blue cheese were so fun and tasty! They arrived at the table popping with deliciousness!”

“Andrew was excellent and very present and an amazing bartender. The other bartender that was working rushed us out of the restaurant saying we needed to “chug” our drinks so we can get out in time before they close. As someone who works food and bev, I understand the wanting to close up and get out, but he rushed us. Frankly, it was very rude and unprofessional. I have never been to a place that essentially tried to kick us out because we were not finishing our drinks fast enough. The service is usually extremely awesome but tonight i was disappointed in how uncomfortable i was that we were rushed out of there.”
“Not gonna lie. Food was very good. Fine dining prices and somewhat limited menu (my wife and i were on the bar side so maybe they have a bigger menu on the dining side) but the flavors and textures of the food as well as restaurant design, music selection and volume and service were all been spot on. We shared the dumplings appetizer. Flavors and texture amazing. Some kind of amazing crunch on the dumpling mixed with a zesty miso sauce that ticked the tastebuds, the pork tenderloin with apple glaze and cauliflower three ways was really fantastic. Crunchy cauliflower, pureed cauliflower were both great, and then the crème brûlée. This is the only thing that was both a hit and miss. It was very creatively presented almost like a terrarium but there were too many things going on. The cake bites were fine (spongy texture) the crunchy caramelized top that you broke to get into the bowl was great, but the “crème” part was way too soupy and the lemon parfait sheet was really cold and didn’t mix well with the other flavors. A+ for trying and presentation. The service was incredible. Each dish was presented by a different server making it feel like everybody was working together to deliver a fantastic dining experience. All in all the prices are high so that I would recommend it if someone else was buying, but couldn’t frequent their despite how great the meal was just from a budget standpoint. But highly recommend giving it a try.”
“Muse was the perfect choice for our group of ladies celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday! They accommodated our party of 12 and made it a full on culinary experience! The owner was so gracious and basically made all of our app and entree suggestions so that they were a wide variety and all shareable! We got a taste of the most amazing dishes you could imagine and the wine was excellent! I would highly recommend you make your reservations as soon as you can!! As one of our girls said, “I give this a 100/10”.”
“Pleasantly surprised by this one as some of the other restaurants owned by this group fall short on execution. Not so here, everything was spot on and we'll be back! Favorite dish on a cool winter night, the Short Rib.”
“We went here on Sunday for dim sum. It was absolutely awesome. The only letdown was that there were no noodles available, We made up for it with other substitutions.”
“Excellent service! The atmosphere was an amazing place to grab a drink and/or eat for the evening while socializing.”
“Phenomenal food and atmosphere. Get the “dessert bread” appetizer if you come. Had the grouper on special and it was incredible”
“The food was great and the service was super fast. Terrance was an awesome bartender that made me and my friend feel at home! Should definitely give this place a try. Couldn’t have asked for a better chill night.”
“Food was so good! The steak fajitas and fried tacos are a must have. Wasn’t a big fan of the coconut shrimp tacos. The guacamole was amazing. Friendly service.”
“Trendy, fun rooftop bar with amazing views! Pricey drinks but you pay for the setting, which is so fun! Perfect for a date night or a girls night out! Great service also!!”
“Diana was amazing!! She made great suggestions and it was delicious. She was wonderful with the kids, which we always appreciate. The food was great, but the service was outstanding!!”
“This was our best meal in Charleston all week. If you eat at one place this needs to be it!”
“Steaks are wet aged prime grade and cooked to perfection. Creamed corn was my favorite side item as it had a hint of smoke to it. Dessert were delicious, I had the molten chocolate soufflé.”
“Not just a meal, but an experience. My taste buds are still craving everything at Wild Common. I would go back in a heartbeat. The food, wine som, creative cocktails, and atmosphere are 5 stars!”
“Celebrated my birthday here—and it was fantastic! They were so wonderful in accommodating our group! The drinks and food are delicious and we were lucky enough to be here for a ramen pop up which was also amazing! Everyone had a wonderful time and talked about how adorable the decor was! We already loved it here, and will for sure be back again!”
“Excellent service, creative fantastic food and the best cosmo ever!”
“Amazing food! The beef cheek is and barbacoa were incredible. So tender and rich. The mustard slaw provided the perfect dose of acidity in between bites of the rich beef cheeks. The macaroni was cheesy and creamy, and don’t get me started on the cilantro lime beans. 11/10, will 100% be back.”
“The food was amazing and the Wizard of Oz drag show was amazing!! We drove up from Savannah, and it was WORTH IT!”
“Stopped in for a happy hour drink on the way to meet family for dinner (so we didn’t eat here). Had great cocktails created by our skilled and friendly bartender. Highly recommend!”

“The best root beer ever! Tastes like Sarsaparilla to me and I love Sarsaparilla. Seriously too bad you don’t bottle and sell it. I rarely make it to Topeka. Major KODOS! The Cajun Chicken Pasta was great, too. Fantastic atmosphere and excellent service! I’m not a beer drinker but congratulations on all your achievements and awards, too!”

“Visiting Charleston,SC, needed something filling . Found New York Pizza on East Bay Street. The young lady April who took my order over the phone was wonderful. She was most helpful in suggesting the amount and toppings. My mobility issues allowed me to go to the Lobby and receive my Pizza. Leo brought it to the desk, he was very nice, appreciative and caring. April and Leo are great employees to have, they accommodate others issues and make it happen. I am most grateful and thankful. My Pizza,Side Salad, Strawberry Lemonade mad the difference also. Thank you again and again April and Leo.”
“We come to Kiawah Island for many years. One of our high high Lights is dining at Aji. We are from New Jersey and had the pleasure of having dined with on the delicacies created by Tim at our local sushi restaurant and are jealous that folks in Charleston have access to this great restaurant. We look forward to returning later in the year.”
“I was lucky to stumble upon Dellzville while in Charleston. I pre-0rderd their Harvest Feast for Thanksgiving. It was by far one of the best vegan meals I have had!! I didn’t feel like I was lacking anything with the rest of my family filling up on their traditional meal. PS..mine looked and tasted better! My only regret is that I should have ordered a second platter for leftovers.”
“I am so upset that we’ve never ordered from here before!! It was the best pizza and pasta we’ve ever gotten in the Charleston area. I would even compare it to the food we got in Little Italy in NY. The pizza is superb with the best crust, sauce and mozzarella!! The spaghetti with marinara and the Lasagna were AMAZING as well. It’s our new go to for pizza and pasta!!”
“This place is a super gem. After trying other Pho places, I found this one to be best. The chef sat down with me and explained how she makes the broths from scratch (no MSG!) Portions are huge with very fresh meats and vegetables. The pho is served with a side plate of limes, cilantro and/or basil and bean sprouts. The place is clean and the staff is great. Love, love this place!”
“Great customer service! Amanda went out of her way to make sure my grandchildren got hot chocolate after 3 other places ran out! The other staff members were great too! So friendly and helpful! Will definitely be returning to purchase more delicious cookies! So many to choose from yet so hard to choose!”
“First time visit recommended by nephew. Great food, great server and prompt service. Always try to be considerate in not overstaying our welcome when people are waiting to be seated. We finished our lunch having been there a total of one hour , enjoying talk with nephew who we hadn’t seen in months when another employee rudely and abruptly said “so, are you ready to settle up?” Never have we felt like we were being ejected from a restaurant! And the real rub is there were at least 3 empty tables and a booth in our seating area. We three were so stunned by her rude manners, we politely gave her our card, (and she took the liberty of pre-selecting a 22% tip which we gladly gave our server)paid our bill and left - NEVER TO RETURN!”

“This place was recommended by a nurse from the VA in Charleston. I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner and that's exactly what I recieved. I ordered the California Dreaming salad and it is by far one of the best salads I've ever had. The bar tender was super friendly and was even able to make me a mocktail. The atmosphere was quaint, quiet, and the views are exceptional. If you ever visit Charleston, SC this is definitely a place you want to check out!!!”
“Great customer service ! My favorite restaurant in charlesotn and the owners are amazing!!! This time the waitress said they stopped serving the okra which was one of my favs well the owners son victor said we keep it for sometimes and so he made me a plate complimentary and was so nice!!! Love hymans and how it is family oriented!”
“I'm not going to lie, El Jefe was a backup plan after our original choice for lunch was unexpectedly closed. That being said, I was surprisingly impressed and would recommend consideration for lunch while in Charleston.
They greet you with free chips and salsa. I personally loved the chips and thought the salsa was above average as well. You then get a decent sized menu to select typically tex-mex options. I appreciated being able to mix and match taco styles to try different things. The taco portion was fair and also tasty.
I didn't get a drink but they had plenty of choices. I also saw they offer bull riding, which I'm sure is a hit in the evening. I wish I remembered our servers name, as he was very polite and was training a new server who was also excellent.
Overall, a pleasant surprise. I don't expect to be in Charleston in the near term, but I'll keep this place in mind for lunch on any future visit.”

“I am here in Charleston for a conference and happened upon this happy little spot. The for was Amazing. The kitchen staff was on point with thier communication...but what really made my night was my server Lotus, she was so knowledgeable and personable, that when she told me she had only been there for a week and a half I was floored. I'm not even her parent but that is the level of proud I was. She is impressive, and if I'm ever in town in definitely coming back.”
“FABULOUS smoked brisket/turkey ...sides are southern at its best...Local favorite....can't wait to go back!!!!!”
