“This place is always crowded!! Came here recently Sunday afternoon, right when the bar opened at 4pm so we got a table in the bar area to eat/drink and watch the football games. There’s always a wait for a table at the restaurant, so plan accordingly, especially if you go for dinner. They have the big beer towers if your group wants to share. Full bar with lots of alcohol/cocktail options. Great food dishes were: Ốc Hến Bánh Đa (baby clams and escargot with rice crackers), Ốc Len Xào Dừa (coconut escargot), Ốc Saté Bơ (saté garlic butter escargot) and Cơm Chiên Crawfish X.O. (crawfish fried rice)—all delicious and well flavored!! And at the end, they give each person a small complimentary bowl of Chè Bắp (Vietnamese sweet corn dessert) which is good!”

“Parking can be difficult as this place os located within a small strip.First time trying Goat pho which was really good as I was a bit skeptic at first.Broth is very clear and light which was perfectly balanced with just enough flavor. They do bring out extra additive I.e. srracha, hoisin, and fish sauce from the refrigerator.Meats were filled with an over abundance as the bowl is offered in one medium sized bowl.Meat ball - airy meatball with a slight bounce to the chew.Texture of the meat wasn't too chewy nor gamy at all.The overall experience is very pleasant, however you may feel hungry soon as usually pho doesn't curb an appetite for long. Not a big fan of curry so I wouldn't be able to give an honest review on their best seller.”

“When I came to Thien An Bo 7 Mon, I wasn't sure what to expect. This was my first time coming to a Vietnamese restaurant. I came in pretty blindly but I was pleasantly surprised.Upon entering, I was seated very quickly and able to get served just as quickly. The rest of my party was also seated very quickly as well. The servers are all very nice and understanding. Once I made known of a food allergy, they were very accommodating. I had a feeling I was in very good hands. The ambience of the restaurant was very welcoming and spacious. I really appreciate restaurants that are spacious because I need elbow-room so I can thoroughly grub on my food Lol. They also have a large screen that displayed aquatic life the night that I went which created a very nice vibe. Now, finally the FOOD! The food was SOOOO good! Everything was seasoned very well and the veggies were all fresh! They even offer a vegan egg roll for those who do not eat meat, which was also very delicious. The experience was very hands-on which I really enjoyed. I customized my spring rolls to my liking as well as the sauce! They offer plenty of food options so it makes customizing not only delicious but fun to experiment with different flavors. The highlight was definitely the catfish! I'm not a big fan of catfish usually but this catfish was absolutely delicious and changed my mind completely! This is a restaurant where you can take your friends, family, coworkers, etc. just to have a good time and eat good food! I will definitely return!”

Spicy pork was a bit salty for me, but i assume most people would like it (as i prefer to make my own food less salty and greasy at home.) Overall it was great. Love their dumpling, and cold noodles. I wish they offer mode side dishes though. They only have two kinds of kimchi (배추김치 & 깍두기) and steamed cabbage.”

The chicken was tender and flavorful. The green sauce was just the right amount of spicy and herbaceous.Since there aren't a ton of Peruvian places in SoCal, I would say Senor Pollo is definitely worth a small trip to check out. Grams BBQ-Tabletop Grill 8902 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove Korean • $$
8902 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove

“This is my go-to AYCE KBBQ spot for several reasons. It’s generally affordable for the high quality of meat. It’s not ~super high quality but I would say it’s on the higher end for an AYCE spot. They also have beef tongue, galbi, and intestines which I consider more premium items. It gets pretty busy so I would suggest putting your party’s name on the Yelp list 1-2 hours ahead of time.My only complaint is the terrible customer service. It feels pretty understaffed which causes the employees to be spread to thin / overworked. Our server takes forever to check back in with us which is not ideal for a KBBQ place where you need to order stuff frequently. Sometimes there are employees who I feel like do the bare minimum and seem like they don’t enjoy working there (don’t smile and are not very friendly).Again, this is a great kbbq spot in general but it can get very busy and service can use improvement.”

“The restaurant was pretty clean. There was a variety in food selection and the meat was tasty. Food also came out fast. Side dishes were just okay. Our female server was nice and sweet. Not sure if this is always the case, but our first orders of bulgogi and brisket were served on small plates. When we reordered the two, they were served on bigger plates with twice the portion. Maybe they think we want a lot since we reordered? Anyway, it's like we ordered a piece of steak, and they gave us a cow lol. They do charge for leftovers here, so pace yourself and ask for half plates as needed.* Bulgogi 5/5 - Tender and juicy, thicker cut.* Brisket 5/5 - Tender and juicy, thinly sliced.* Tofu Soup 5/5 - Small personal bowl of delicious tofu soup and a bonus shrimp. Mild spiciness.* Marinated Shrimp 5/5 - Shrimps are tasty. Be careful that they can burn easily cooking on such high heat like what happened with mine...* Green Tea Ice Cream 1/5 At the end of the meal, we were offered ice cream in green tea or vanilla flavors. I opted for green tea, and it was... how shall I put it, kind of like frozen green tea in ice cream form? It was bitter and herbal-like, not sweet even for me who doesn't like things overly sweet. Maybe try vanilla instead.”

“Garlic and Chives is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the OC area.Restaurant, including the restrooms is clean. Service is prompt and courteous. Lots of parking available in the plaza lot. We have been lucky to come at times when they are not that busy, but I imagine that they would get pretty packed during peak hours. As for the food, everything on their menu is great. We only wish that they also served pho, simply because we love pho and thats literally the only thing that they are missing! Yes, there are tons of pho places in the area, but if they added it to their menu, it would be heaven as all our favorite Vietnamese dishes would be served in one restaurant!Only reason for subtracting one star is due to the price compared to the size of the dishes. You can actually see how the prices keep being increased as there are price stickers stacked on top of each other on their menu. *Cries in California*”

Trap Shack Kitchen 12762 Main St Box Office, Garden Grove Hamburger • $$
12762 Main St Box Office, Garden Grove

“BEWARE: This is a ghost kitchen. I had to call them directly to find out. This kitchen resides in a small little yellow building called South Coast Take Out which is where many ghost kitchens have orderable menus, all under one roof.Another takeaway is that Trapshack Kitchen is not under the filter 'American' for some reason when you order on the touchscreen. There was no search function either so you're gonna have to scroll thru the pages of the main menu in order to find it.Now let's get to the review: I ordered a single patty smash burger with a side of fries. The fries got a little soggy on the way back home so I reheated it in the oven to get it nice and crispy again, and the extra wait was well worth it. After finally biting into the burger and taking a bite of those hot crispy French fries, I was pleasantly surprised. The patty wasn't as smashed and crispy as I would have preferred but it was nonetheless a great tasting burger. The biggest takeaway here is that the burger and fries came out to only $10 ($6 for the burger, $4 for the fries). These days, McDonald's charges about the same for a Big Mac and fries which is pretty ridiculous. At Trapshack, you're going to get a much better burger than a Big Mac. So I highly recommend checking this place out in case you're craving a quality burger at a low price.”

“You know the restaurant you've passed a million times, but have never gone inside? It's been around for as long as you remember? So it's gotta be good, right? So my friend grew up nearby & her family has always gone across the street. How can two Chinese restaurants survive right across the street from one another? Well, because the food is good. Very good Cantonese style Chinese food. We shared: beef chow fun(dry) Really good. We perhaps have found a good chow fun place since our standby,TG garden has closed. Nice bouncy noodles. Tender beef with great flavor. That's what's missing at most places. The amount of soy sauce, oyster sauce etc. The salt & pepper squid was nice and crispy, not greasy. A thin batter coating. White pepper brought to the table. So I'm guessing the salt & pepper is for the diner to add. Salt & pepper can really be subjective. Same for the salt & pepper pork chop. I added white pepper to my serving. Light batter with green chili slices & green onion. Very good. The sautéed ong choy was very good too. Nice and garlicky. Perhaps a bit too much oil though. Had to ask first containers a few times. But that's classic Chinese restaurant. A friend who is Chinese tells me, you need to be very assertive at Chinese restaurants. Cuz they're very busy, kind of understaffed(?). Be that squeaky wheel. Overall, we're glad we came. We'll be back to our new (old) neighborhood Chinese restaurant.”

“Perfect for people who want to suck and spit their seafood at home and not in public. Don't need to worry about long wait times to sit in the restaurant this spot is solely for take out. They have always been generous with their extra limes and salt & pep requests. You can call ahead and if they aren't busy orders are ready in like 15 minutes! Don't forget to ask for table covering and bibs so you can have the same experience at home as if you were in the restaurant. Pro tip, get some of your own plastic gloves so you don't have stanky sauce fingers.”

Han Kook Kwan 9658 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove Korean • $$

“I was in the area for an event and my companions were looking for something specific to eat. This was close by, had options other than just soup or noodles and they were agreeable with the price. It is located in the food court of a Korean grocery store (diamond in the rough actually). We were there mid-afternoon and parking was not too bad.Inside the grocery store food court is not fancy as say HMart, but I also noticed that all the restaurants, as with Han Kook Kwan, are run by Korean ajumma and ajeossi. When I saw that, I knew the food would be yummy.I ordered a Chicken Plate. Once all our orders were taken, I saw the man and woman behind the counter furiously cooking our food. Wait was a reasonable amount of time and I was pleasantly surprised at how much food was on the plate, a salad, and it had two banchan (cabbage kimchi and maybe a root veg kimchi). Both were delicious and also just the right amount of spicy. We also had kimbap to share, which was quite yummy! I was worried it would be sad like grocery store kimbap, but it was filing and tasty. My friends got beef bulgogi plates and a japchae plate, also with the same banchan. Everyone seemed happy with their dishes. The food would work to share for two not very hungry women, who want to room for boba or some pastry in the bakery next door. I was starving and even I had leftovers enough for one more meal. While the foodcourt is visually dodgy, the food tasted like someone's mum made it for me. And not complaining that it's reasonably priced, and also that it is attached to a grocery store making for a quick duck in for Korean goodies.Highly recommend for a simple meal! If I am in town, I will for sure, come back.”

“Did you know that there lies a quaint sushi place that has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike? Now, you do! Kyotori has a warm, inviting vibe. It offers a casual dining experience that doesn't compromise on the quality of its dishes. The menu has an array of sushi options, from the classic rolls, nigiri and sashimi to more innovative ones that cater to both traditional and adventurous tastebuds. Each dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients. The chefs take great pride in their creations. The Jalapeño Albacore Roll and the Scallop & Lobster Baked Roll stand out as must-try dishes for any sushi lover. The Jalapeño Albacore Roll has excellent balance and flavor. This roll blends heat and delicacy in a way that enhances the fish's natural flavor without overpowering it.The Scallop & Lobster Baked Roll is a luxurious indulgence and my favorite! This roll is generously filled with tender scallops and succulent lobster, then topped with a creamy, savory sauce before being baked to perfection. It is a comforting dish. The seafood is cooked just right, maintaining its juiciness. It's a dish that both comforts and excites, making it an unforgettable part of any meal at Kyotori. What sets this restaurant apart, however, is not just the quality of its food but the exceptional service. Dave and Thinh went above and beyond to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, making diners feel valued and appreciated. Whether you are a sushii connoisseur or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, Kyotori offers an enjoyable meal that promises to leave you coming back for more!”

“This place is the best taco shop I've been to so far in OC. They have easily the best Cabeza in Orange County and possibly all of SoCal. They use very good quality meat. You can tell before you even try their taco, just by looking at the juicy meats their working with. I got the cabeza, Al pastor, birria, and chorizo tacos. The birria is heavenly! So tender and delicious!! The flavor was just right and the meat fell apart in my mouth. Cabeza, best cabeza as I said. It's a must try. This was so good, I took a cabeza quesadilla to-go!!! Al pastor seasoning was delicious and very nice over all. Well cooked, just right over fire. Very satisfied with this choice. The chorizo was alright. Not bad. Not amazing. I lean more towards the crunchy kind of chorizos. Of course the quesadilla was AMAZING! Just look at my pictures! This place is unbelievable. High quality meat. Delicious flavor. Legit corn tortillas. And a great price. So far this best taco place in the OC so far. Thank the lord, this place has answered my prayers!!”

“This is one of the better restaurants that we've eaten at recently and at a fraction of the price which was shocking because I expected the prices to be higher. We ordered the 5-courses of chicken - normally, chicken is one of my last options but it seems like what this place is known for so we had to try it. It was absolutely delish!!! One course was the best deep fried egg roll with the thin noodles that you wrap - so light and crispy - I have never had it this lightly crispy. Another was a spicy fried chicken - so much better than any of the Korean BBQ joints. Another was the typical Viet chicken salad. There was also a grilled chicken w/sticky rice. All were so tasty! We also ordered the mango salad which had squid, shrimp, and with taro strips. So refreshing. The dish that I was totally craving was the "deep fried" fish - it was so perfectly baked; we didn't think that they fried it but the skin was so crispy while the fish was moist. This came with lettuce, cucumber, mint to wrap. They brought out both regular rice and BROWN rice paper to wrap. The tamarind sauce was the perfect sweet and spicy. Must order this as soon as it arrives because it takes 30-35 mins. All of this for 4 ppl at lunch was ~$140 + tip. This was so reasonable especially since three of us had a $120 + tip bill at J Zhou for a ridiculously small amount of dim sum this week.Service was pretty good - the server was super nice but didn't speak a lot of English. My friend thought that we ordered the fish but turned out we didn't so it was a bit of a wait for it but well worth it.Bathroom and the restaurant are both so, so clean for a Vietnamese restaurant. I wanted a nicer ambiance for lunch so we did get this.I can't wait to come back!”

Our server was super nice too. We ordered the Juan's Chicken Quesadilla and the Bao Buns. The chicken quesadilla was surprisingly packed with delicious cheese and very seasoned chicken, I was impressed. The Bao buns were silky smooth with a balanced flavor profile between the pork, sauce, and pickled jalapeños. Both portions weren't too large, but decently priced at 17 and 18 dollars, respectively. Very conveniently located bar/restaurant in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Orange County. The atrium of this hotel is really nice so the seating area is really nice with a very open feeling. Give it a shot if you're staying in the hotel, but no need to travel to the hotel just for this food.”

However, the female boss is very kind, but the male boss has a very fiery personality. To put it in a good way, he shows signs of anger every time he yells or gets angry at the employees and the female boss. He also gets angry when we order something... He even curses at us when we sit near the counter. I'd like to stop by and pretend. That's why I always want to sit far away from the counter... I think it's something that can be said without getting angry, but he just gets angry every time I go there. Even at the staff who were dishwashing and cleaning up, they screamed and got irritated and called their names... Other than that, everything was fine.”

We got our salad about 10 mins in and then we waited over an hour for the rest of our food. The parties that showed up after us got their food a good 20 mins before we got the rest of our food. Only reason we probably got our food before we asked them for our bill and to cancel the other 2 items. If you like spicy this place is for you. It's good. But a little spicy for 2 out of 4 of us.”
