Ziggle Korean BBQ 12300 South St, Artesia Korean Barbecue • $$

“Absolutely loved my experience at Ziggle K BBQ in Artesia! This place offers an authentic and traditional Korean barbecue experience that's perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a variety of delicious meats and classic Korean sides. The ambiance is spot-on—a cozy, traditional KBBQ setting with smokeless tabletop grills that let you cook your own meat. It really adds to the interactive dining experience!

We tried the garlic pork belly (so flavorful), brisket (a classic favorite), beef belly (it melted like butter), and the bulgogi (perfectly marinated and so tender). The corn cheese was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the savory meats. Plus, the banchan selection was fresh and yummy—everything was spot on!

The service was excellent, and the staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I also appreciated their lunch special ($22.99 on weekdays) and happy hour discounts on all alcohol and fountain drinks (20% off). It's an amazing deal for the quality and variety of food they offer!

If you’re looking for a delicious Korean BBQ spot, Ziggle K BBQ is the place to be. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Korean cuisine or wants to explore it in an authentic, welcoming environment!”

It's so, so, so delicious, and I haven't been able to get my mouth full since I ate this place from Korea. I'm sure there's no such delicious malatang anywhere in the world, not even in mainland China. It's so delicious that I wonder if something was really done to the soup, and it's so addictive that I'll be eating it for a week. I think about it three times. Please, please drink it. Please.”

“Today at M’s kitchen, I went with the chef’s suggestion of “cold noodles” (which is the meat sauce noodle with soy bean paste, ask for cold noodles). The pronunciation sounds like Tsa Chang lian mein, and while my mandarin is terrible the food was thankfully not. The cold noodles, cucumbers, and pork sauce hit the spot in this warm California afternoon and i couldn’t be more satisfied with both the taste and my full stomach. 10/10 Would eat again. —Recommendations— For those who want a comforting dinning experience, Treat yourself to these delicious dishes: -general tso’s chicken -spicy diced chicken -green onion pancakes -braised string beans -house special beef -braised shrimp -cold meat sauce noodle with soy bean paste —Finger foods for your office/party— For those looking to feed your office finger foods ask for a party tray (I’d get the last 3 since they are more likely “known” by the people you are feeding): -spicy diced chicken -xiao long bao -pan fried dumplings -spring rolls -green onion pancakes When in doubt, do not be afraid to ask Monica the owner for suggestions. I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and I have always left satisfied.”

Luka 11700 South St Suite 105, Artesia Coffee & Tea • $$$

“Ugh. Didn't expect this much of culinary excellence from my neighborhood coffee shop. All three dishes I had there was very intentionally curated and well executed with fresh ingredients, and all of those being a hefty sharable portion was a lovely bonus. Fine dining quality with a family restaurant quantity, it really was.

Straciatella and peaches, in which they replaced peaches with apples during my visit, surprisingly was the highlight of the night. The cheese, tasted unbelievably fresh, combined with harmonious touches of oils and sauces was just delightful. I wonder if it the cheese was made in the house?

Then the potato situation. Crunch exterior, nicely mashed cheesy inside, loaded with Parmigiano and chives. My friend and I loved it. Anyone and everyone will. It came out in a massive size too! I would consider ordering it again next time for a sharable plate for 3-4 people.

Asparagus and sausage! I could've enjoyed this pasta even more if I had chose lighter starters for my taste buds. But regardless it was delicious. Extrememly savory flavor, a little gulilty level of creamy and salty, with guiltier finish of ground chicharrón on the top. I wish there was more asparagus, but I think that goes against the intention of the overall plate so ill keep that wish to myself.

I had no room left for desserts but I already know their cakes are top tier so im just planning out for next visit already...

Very refreshing to see this business taking this challenge of bringing fine dining experience in this area and want to applaude all of the staff. I hope more people recognize their effort of making this affordable and approchable.”

You seldom see restaurants with a cold dish bar like this these days. The restaurant is clean, it's clearly a small family owned business that's trying to keep it traditional, price is extremely reasonable and portions are GENEROUS. Not to mention the food is very very authentic and delicious. We don't live nearby but a lot of family does, and when we're around we only come here. “A must visit to this hidden gem. My first bite took me right across the Pacific Ocean to South Korea. Don’t be fooled by the old exterior and interior of the restaurant as each dish brings you truly authentic Korean flavours. The beef bulgogi is the best I have tried.

Regarding the poor customer service comments from other patrons, I can imagine this is due to the level of English that the owner and staff speaks. In fact, all I heard while dining is just Korean (including all other patrons). We managed to somehow communicate with each other but I can only imagine the language barrier is a sign of the authenticity of the dish itself.”

“The food was tasty but there were some disappointments- we asked very clearly for very spicy and I made it clear that my wife is from Thailand and we are both accustomed to eating extremely spicy food. The food was not very spicy at all. I was disappointed by the lack of condiments and chutneys and also disappointed they brought so much bread at once and never offered fresh, so it was no longer warm and crispy by the time we finished. These are things I would overlook at a budget restaurant but this isn’t a budget restaurant. The food was good but I don’t think we’ll be back”

Pak Halal Kitchen 18743 Pioneer Blvd #101, Artesia Pakistani • $

“BETWEEN THE REVIEWS w/ Rodney S

Q) So, Rodney, where did you go for lunch?
A) To Pak.

Q) 2pac?! The rapper?!
A) No, to Pak. I went to Pak Halal in Artesia.

Q) Oh, I see. Was this your first time visiting?
A) Yes, Rodney. A few Muslim gym buddies o' mine kept recommending Pak Halal, so of course I had to give the place a shot.

Q) What did you order?
A) Being my first time, I gave the Special Dishes display a thorough perusing.

Knowing I wanted a beef or mutton entree, after much thought & deliberation, I went all in on Pak Halal's Beef Nihari.

Q) Rodney, how was the Beef Nihari?
A) Spiced tender beef, swimming in flavorful broth. I enjoyed the Beef Nihari. I prefer a solid amount of fat to meat, and the Beef Nihari had just what I was looking for. Ample portions, with enough to fill up on. Speaking of filling up, the ginormous Garlic Naan provided a lot of garlicky carbs, made all the more better when soaking up with the Beef Nihari broth

Q) How was the service, and what are the seating arrangements?
A) Rodney, the service was good. The wait wasn't unreasonable. Being a small deli, there is a table or two inside & outside. Pak Halal is more an order ahead, grab n' go eatery. The railing outside Pak Halal acts as a standing communal table, in which I used to dine on my meal.

Q) Rodney, would you recommend Pak Halal?
A) Absolutely, Rodney! The food was great at Pak Halal, and when I'm in a hurry and not looking for a sit-down restaurant experience, I know I can head over to Pak Halal and order something to go, or enjoy a quick meal on the railing, before life's troubles beckon me, elsewhere”

AUTHENTIC REAL SAMBHAR!! We ordered Gobi Manchurian as a starter and tried Idli Sambhar, ghee masala dosa, gajar (carrot) halwa, madras tea and filter coffee. Each dish was 10/10. Our server Mr. Devi Karki was so professional, attentive and friendly. Each staff seemed to love their work and were attending to all their customers. Hands down the best Sambhar in the town!! Would definitely come back very often!!! And by the way Tirupathi Bhimas and Bhimas Indian Veg is the same restaurant!!

“Honestly I don't understand the bad reviews. My husband and I absolutely love their food and love supporting them. My favorite thing about this restaurant are the cold dishes. This place is great for take out and dine in is always nice too, never a wait. We just love supporting them.”

Tampopo 11700 South St #104, Artesia Japanese • $

“Popo?! Where? Oh, Tampopo. They're right over there!

Tampopo Restaurant has been a long term tenant at the Artesia City Plaza. I remember dining at the prior occupant (Sushi Samurai, I believe), many years ago. Originally planning to dine at Katsumura, only to find they're not open Mondays, Tampopo became Plan B for some sustenance.

Lunch Specials & 50% off Sushi everyday

Tampopo ramen & gyoza lunch special-
Priced at $14.95, the Tampopo ramen & gyoza lunch special was a good deal. The broth was thinner than what was expected, and the ramen wasn't al dente (more spaghetti-like) to my preference. However, the bowl of soup had an ample amount of food with three thick slabs of tender pork belly.

The gyoza provided a nice textural contrast to the ramen, and were pleasurable to eat.

Service was good. Seating was readily available and the wait was minimal for food. Parking is at the Artesia City Plaza, which can become quite difficult to find during peak hours. Tampopo is located in-between Bakers & Baristas & Sweetee Thai.

Not ramen quite comparable to a dedicated ramen shop, Tampopo's ramen & gyoza lunch special is still a bargain for a filling meal. Things are expensive now, so I find Tampopo's reasonable pricing & ample quantities and good choice when in search of a meal option in the area.”

They made our order pretty fast for a Saturday amongst a pretty busy time. I wish they would offer different sizes as I wasn't that thirsty, and the only size they have is 24 ounces. “Our first time to try this place ( Tuesday 1130 a.m.). First negative point was the narrow tight parking spots of the shopping center. You'd easily get a scratch/dent on your car . The next point .. the food prices are pricey ! ( about $ 6 to $7 bucks higher than other comparable eateries). However, to be fair, once we started eating our lomi n fresh lumpia.. it was a big wow.. it's a real sarap n the servings are huge. So it's still ok to eat here unless you don't mind the tight, narrow parking spots. Don't bring your Teslas, Mercedes n other elegant cars you may have esp on buffet days. The restroom doors by the way are supposed to be self closing n not prop opened per health regulations.”
